We went to this restaurant because my in-laws rave about it. We decided on the Friday seafood buffet because we wanted to try a variety of the menu. Big mistake! The shrimp scampi was only pasta. The crab imperial was really dry and had shells in it. The raw oysters were obviously fresh water and farm raised as they had no taste. The fried oysters were mushy. The peel and eat shrimp were over cooked and you could hardly get the shells off. The prime rib was about the only good food on the buffet. I decided that I couldn't do wrong with the desert. Boy was I wrong. All the cake was also dry. We complained to our waitress who said that no one else had complained. When she brought our check she had charged us for drinks on the kids meals. When we pointed out her mistake she tried to argue with us that it was not included. I had to pull the menu out to show her that the drinks were included. After we paid for our meal we decided to seek out the manager to let her know our experience was not very good. She was very rude and stated that they were not busy so the food on the buffet was not replaced as much as it usually was. While my husband was speaking with her, 7 or 8 staff members stood around watching the discussion. Not that we were looking for it, but she offered no compensation for the horrible experience we had. We have been going here for several years. Originally from Baltimore, so we know good seafood. I must say we have only been on Fri evenings for the seafood buffet. Always enjoy the food and friends. It is not a fancy place, but you will feel at home and could never go away hungry. We love the ambiance of the water location and enjoy walking around the boats docked. For those who did not enjoy it, please do not return. We want to keep this place a secret from all the tourists. Its the adventure that you leave with that makes it so special for us. Ate here last night with a party of 7. Have a reservation, had to wait about 20 minutes to be sat (not a big deal), but when we got upstairs they had plenty of open tables... once we were sat we waited 20 more minutes where a young girl (seemed like she was a good runner/busser) asked if we had been helped yet. We said no. 5+ minutes later a server came up and asked if we had been treated yet, again we say no. She then goes on about how she will help up then since our "supposed server" hasn't, and she "likes money"... weird joke, but okay. I too am a server and that's the oldest lie in the book. Clearly she was always going to be our server, but was too busy to get to us in a timely fashion. Which was just a trend for the entire night. I have never been to a place in my entire life where the service is so slow. We spent 3.5 hours here. We got half of our food about an hour after we ordered, and then the half of us that were eating crabs got our food about 45 minutes after that. Absolutely ridiculous, not saying it was our servers fault, but management should've came over and talked to us. Crabs were fine, but worth a 2 hours wait? No. When it was all said and done they took 20% off the price of the crabs, which at the point felt like why even do anything at all. Been coming to Suicide Bridge for years, and you can't beat the location, the service or the food in the area. They have some of the best crab cakes and Maryland crab soup. The oysters and clams on the half shell are fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. The steamed crabs truly live up to their size - the jumbos are really jumbos. And are sourced locally from the Choptank River nearby. It's about a 15 minute drive from Rt 50, but worth the detour. read more

Steamed Lobster....I have been to this restaurant once last year on Thursday and once this year on Thursday for the lobster special for 21.00....both times in late August. Both times we all ordered steamed lobster, and both times the lobster was so tough that it was almost uneatable. I have never experienced lobster tails tougher than this place and I don't understand why? Is it that they are overcooked or is it that they are frozen too long? Friday night seafood buffet is wonderful! Great selection and fresh fish. It's worth the drive from DC just for this. There are a few vegetarian items on the menu, not many, but something. You can also order pasta or a selection of side items if you don't eat meat/fish. The restaurant is large with 2 floors and a few different rooms. The setting is lovely on the water with a duck feeding station outside. Even if the parking lot is full, don't worry, the restaurant can seat a lot of people and handles large groups very well. The Friday night seafood buffet is posted weekly on their website with the items listed for that upcoming buffet. It's not fancy. It's definitely casual, both in dress, atmosphere and service. But you come for the food and a laid back place. There are picnic tables outside near the boat slips, but no table service. I suppose if you wanted to, you could probably get food to go and eat outside if you're arriving by boat and don't want to eat indoors. read more

The seafood is by far the best I've had in a long time!!! I've been 4 times...and plan on going again...but will not get the prime rib...was tough and stringy, baked potato wasn't hot enough to melt the butter...salad hardly covered the plate, and was mostly yellow lettuce...a real turn off to me...the bread which usually comes out first....came after dinner and appetizers were served...a not so good visit this one time...but certainly not bad enough to make me not come again. Always love going there and having Shannon as our waitress. She is the bomb. She makes you feel like you are eating at home with friends. Love her service, very attentive, always quick with any refills, asking if we need anything, you cannot go wrong if she's your waitress. Actually everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. This was our first time there and we made reservations for 4 for the paddleboat. The dinner was terrible and cold. I had heard this was great place to eat and was very disappointed. We felt it would have been served at a much more inferior restaurant especially advertising their excellent seafood. We will never eat there or do the dinner/boat cruise again. I've only been a few times and both times were years apart. I happen to have family that live 20 minutes away so we went with them. It does seem like it is in the middle of NOwhere! But to me, that is part of the charm. I was there last weekend and I had an A #1 crabcake! I had side veggies that were very fresh and tasty. I ordered a cosmo and it was very good. We had a view of the water and the sun was setting, it was priceless! Sure, it was loud! We were upstairs by the bar! If you want to be out of the loud noise and fun, happy, laughing people, eat downstairs where it is a bit more calm. We tend to eat at high end restaurants where we live but I can assure you, the crab cake here was JUST as good as any! read more

My family regularly orders carryout at Suicide Bridge Restaurant. The last 2 times we have been shorted items. Last time we asked if everything was checked and told them that last time we were missing a platter that we paid for. The girl said she checked it herself and everything is there. We were dumb enough to trust her. Got home and we were missing items again. The food is good, but some if it is overpriced. Way too expensive to receive such poor service, so if you go there for carryout be sure to check the order yourself before you leave. read more

i have not been to suicide bridge restaurant in a year because of not the food but the terrible service so we decided on sunday july 14 to give it another shot and the food was good but a little pricey which is ok if the service level was a was on par with the food but instead we get terrible service waitress forgot to get the drinks refilled we requested forgot our appetizer for our sauces for our seafood and had to ask over again for them 15mins later we get them got appetizer that she forgot at end of meal waitress was slow and kept saying she was sorry for the issues she was having the service was so slow we were seated at 445pm and finally at 630pm received check i will not say i will never be back but it will be a long time before i will eat a this establishment again because of the service not the food read more

We went to the New Year's Eve dinner buffet. The buffet was excellent. There was something special for everyone in our party. Standouts were the steamed shrimp and the shucked oysters. The oyster fritters were the best I have every eaten - the taste of oyster was fresh and the fritters were not doughy. Scallops were tender and not over-cooked. Beautiful salad and dessert bar. The event was informal and the service was excellent. We've dined there during the summer and enjoyed the food; love the crabs. A two-hour drive and very disappointed. My husband and I have eaten here several times over the last 10 years. Each time the food was very good. Today, I believe the food would have been very good if it had been cooked fresh today. First, the rolls came out hard - as if they had been heated up in the microwave too long. Then the food came out the same - as if it had been cooked earlier and then reheated - just for us. The baked potato was not fluffy and hot. The butter did not melt in it - the potato had a solid look and feel. The fried shrimp were tasteless and luke warm. The crab cakes were just ok and there again, not warm, just half warm. Maybe eating at 3:00 pm is too early for a chef to be on the scene, but I don't think anyone would be hurrying back. This is too bad because now it looks like the restaurant is trying to get by on its well known name. I hope this was just a one-day thing. Also, I looked to see if the manager was around, but only saw the waitresses. To the restaurant: Please serve everyone, anytime of the day, a good meal that you are noted for - especially when your prices are high enough for your food to be as excellent as I remember. read more

we have been there 3 times. Once was Thanksgiving. Overall a very good experience. Most recently a group of 8 of us went for my sister's birthday. The atmosphere is old school, but the setting is spectacular. The view is awesome and the staff is courteous. They are a little on the pricey side, but the food is worth the drive from the Western shore. I had the Oyster Stew which is a rarity in restaurants. It was fabulous, My mother and my wife both pride themselves on Oyster stew and when my wife asked to compare i couldn't lie, her's could not compare. Plump oysters, creamy stew, can't wait to go back for that. My entree was seared rockfish, it was average. My wife had blackened tuna which she really enjoyed. My sister's Prime Rib was juicy and my daughter's fried oyster basket were awesome. I tried my mom's Crab Imperial and i really didn't like it, but who eats that anymore?. My niece' s large cut filet Mignon was dry and did she did not like it. The reviews on the crab cakes were mixed. My dad did not like his, but my sister's boyfriend thought they were good. The Friday Night Buffet was a disappointment. People in line were forced into a room much too small and crowded together. It was also too dark to properly see the dishes offered. The fan above us was not switched on. Serving containers had lids that had to be lifted or opened to see what was inside and the identifications for the dishes were not well displayed. On the night we visited, the online menu said it would feature prime rib and pork. There was no pork and no explanation or substitution. The prime rib station featured only rare and well done. They were cutting on a very small piece of the rare, with no other replacement in sight, and we were told that if we wanted well done, it was floating in some au jus next to the cutting board. The slices of this were paper thin and lacked flavor. I'd been looking forward to this the most and it soured my mood. The bbq'd spareribs were swimming in sauce and bland. The crab imperial was mushy and the fried chicken extremely overdone. I found the cold steamed shrimp to be good and the small fried soft crabs were perfectly done. Their choice of vegetables left much to be desired. The dessert presentations were a disaster. Cake slices were uncut properly and and all was crowded into too small a space, it was messy. All in all, I don't believe that the price of $29.95 per person was reasonable for the meal that we received. And the experience was unpleasant. I would not go to this buffet again. read more

I am a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Yes Talbot County and Caroline County. My family and myself have had several dinners, lunches here. Parties up to 22 and 4. This last time we had lunch with the family on October the 16th of 2016. It was sub-par. The food was cold, Kools crab cakes and the fries were ice cold. I ordered the stuffed shrimp, the shrimp were dried out like they came off of friday nites buffet. and the crab imperial was luke warm. My daughter got the crab dip and it had so much oil on top she could not eat it. The oysters rockerfella looked like they were two days old. The waitress could not keep up on our drink order either. Only 5 of us and she was lacking To insure promptness. Potential. My dad left 25% tip because that is the way he is. But myself could not let this go. Will not go back. Either hire a new cook or your menu has to be changed and prices need to reflect the quality of the food. Pee EEEWW. read more

For a restaurant located in the heart of seafood country, I was extremely disappointed in their food. We ordered dinner, and none of the seafood was fresh. I ordered the seafood platter, which consisted of a crab cake, six scallops, three jumbo shrimp, a soft crab, and a flounder fillet. The crab cake was overly breaded, the piece of flounder was a frozen fillet (like the ones sold at Walmart) that was thin enough to see through. The scallops and shrimp were also not fresh. The jumbo shrimp was flat, and the scallops were perfectly shaped. Seafood should be fresh and retain its natural shape--not beaten flat to pack more easily. I had heard nothing but good things about this place, but the reviews must be from someone who had never eaten real seafood. To make matters worse, the waitress overcharged us on drinks, never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, and acted as if waiting on customers was the last thing she wanted to do.
