Came here the other night to give it a try over going to Applebee's yet again. Walked in and was in shock it's a small little place with not many people. We ordered our drinks not to badly priced and headed to the pool table. Talking and chatting and this lovely lady Karen the bartender heads over and gives up a free watermelon freeze sampler that she was trying to make. My cup if tea not so much for the others I was with but they enjoyed it. We got to talking found out the true meaning if you can't judge a book by its cover. My sister and I went here last night after a Yelp party. It's close to her house and we wanted to karaoke so we came here. Everyone is very friendly. It's a nice little dive bar with a pool table and karaoke. Well we had a bit too much to drink and one of the bartenders was nice enough to find us a ride to my sisters house. They look out for their patrons and I really like that in a bar. I wasn't planning on drinking that much but I did, my bad, the drinks are definitely not weak. One of the other patrons was nice enough to drive us to my sisters and she even went back to the bar because my sister forgot her purse. Come to find out she left it on my passenger seat so they had to come back and get the keys from me. I wish I could remember her name. She was so sweet and drove back to the bar to get my sisters purse out of my car and come back to my sisters for a 3rd time to drop it off. Hopefully I will see her again, so I can properly thank her. I'm glad we went last night. I'm sure we will go again but we will bring a DD with us next time. Yay fro awesome dive bars :) read more

One of the friendliest neihborhood bars you'll find in Sacramento. I've been a patron off and on since it was the Vienna lounge years ago. The place was cleaned up and updated when it became Sharon's. Great bartenders (both Karens and Natalie) and quick friendly service. The prices are very fair with a good selection of beers. Food is the only thing this place is missing. Karaoke is definitely popular at this bar. The DJ has a very professional setup. Thur, Fri, Sat nights can get very busy. I think those are the Karaoke nights they may have more though. They have 1 quarter pool table, Dart boards, online jukebox, plenty of newer TV's and one big screen. Plenty of seating. Can't stress enough how friendly the crowd is at this place, lot's of regulars and a large cross section of people old and young. read more

The couple times I have been here I have had a amazing experience. I love the people they are chill and great and the lady at the bar is pretty nice.. I do like when they do the karaoke and there are a lot of people with talent there. This would be a place I would go to when I feel like having an awesome time. read more

This is a great local bar that I would travel a great distance to go to. I love the crowd. They treat you like family. Karon (the bartender) is a special ray of light. She is always so happy to see me. Karaoke is great. So many great singers show up there. The staff is friendly and caring. The clientele are welcoming. Huge parking lot so you know you will always find a place to park. It's a safe environment. I've never seen a fight or any one getting out of control. Although, I used to AVOID neighborhood bars - After going there with my cousin one night (it was close & we wanted a drink).. I now go at least 2-3x a month when I can. OMG?! This place is hilarious?! The drinks were stiff, but tasty and yeah like everyone on here said - priced right. The kareoke, isn't my thing but I enjoy watching/listening to everyone else. As to the one guy's review about old people & country music um well I'm not old & I honestly think he's confused about where he was!!! Yes, there were people of all ages 21-50yrs. (Which I sorta liked) They have a juke box and the kareoke - both of which play a variety of music; from VARIOUS eras & genres (Including top 20/radio stuff). As to the staff, (I've been back to the bar on many occasions now) not once have I met a single rude employee. Perhaps, if you act like a tool they'd tolerate you to a point- I dunno. Anyhow, they have these "theme" or dress up nights every month. You don't HAVE to dress up but it is a riot to go an just have a good time! Personally, I think its a cool lil bar. They have food, darts, a pool table - the plasma tvs that the guys love and some poker machines or something. OH and most importantly (for us females) a CLEAN -well stocked bathroom!?! Sharon's Lounge "Wouldn't you like to go to a place, where everybody sings off-key!?" Character: Tucked back in the corner of a strip mall, this place has all the charm of the inside of a strip mall. Even the wood paneling seems substandard. There's no sense of place or anything that informs you just what this place is, beyond a watering hole for working class folks and baby boomer state workers. The people make this place, since the place isn't making a statement. Vibe: Depending on the night, either a rollicking good time with a Pandora's box of karaoke tunes bringing smiles and sing-alongs across the bar, or, a place where dreams go to die. It's hit or miss here. My money's on hit, as on more than one occasion a regular, or even the owner Sharon, has their birthday and provided a big spread of quality food, much homemade and to high standards. Absent the weekend crowds, it can be a little sad. Cast: I'll wager everyone here has a job. Unlike some dive joints, if somebody at Sharon's Lounge doesn't have a job, their probably retired. It does skew towards an older clientele. If your good idea of a pick-up line is "Tell me about the '70s, I can't remember" then these boomers are for you. Occasionally in the parking lot you'll run across someone treating themselves for glaucoma or restless leg syndrome, etc. If you too need such 'medicine', they'll often share. Remember, pass the dutchie on the left hand side. Crew: Capable, professional, and friendly. Female staff, working solo or partnered. Na"tit"lie from the R-Spot works here alternate weekends. Karen rocks the hats and claws. Ol' Butch will make your drink if it's late, but normally he chills by the door or runs a scripted flirting routine with the ladies. Cost: Inexpensive, but if you think about it a little, this place does charge a bit too much. About 50-cents overpriced, which is me being cheap, but for the place, its prices are still above what similar local bars are charging. read more

My husband and I came in last night around 8ish and our bartender was horrible! We were there a half hour each had one drink because she was too busy eating her frozen macaroni and cheese, on the house phone and smoking outside not to mention the movie she was watching on tv in this bar that has a jukebox and tv's to give the bar an atmosphere. Furthermore when we paid her she didnt ring it in but, she took our money!! My husband being a bar owner in carmichael just couldnt believe she actually had a job ! SL is the ultimate place to be. Took a newbie (Lady Friend) to Sharon's and she confessed she has never had it so good. I looked forward to KR's songs but was told he passed days back. What a shame King Richard passed. I am going to miss his sonorous and baritone voice, He was full of life even on his walker.
