It went very well with my medium 16oz. hot chocolate $4.25 with complimentary whipped cream. Beverage was good tasting too. Cups are huge! Lots of love here. Great customer service with employees working nonstop. No doubts. Suju's coffee spots have good quality foods/beverages at good prices. Great value for sure. If you're going to tip a coffee shop/cake, this is worth it. Lines are busy in the morning. 4/5. Parking lot entering from Thorton Ave. was a bit narrow and congested, but you can easily find parking into the full public parking lot. Entering the doors is nothing fancy or formal here. There's plenty of space to sit and tables to work at. Good for work/study/groups. Their front counter displays a wide range of goodies/pastries/cakes/etc. which all looks great too. If you want beverages, wait for your order to be called out verbally. If you want a sandwich, just fill up your sandwich selections and preferences on the white sheet of paper at the counter when ordering. Decent coffee shop. Not fancy, but the location is convenient. I ordered a piece of carrot cake bar $3.75 too. Yes, authentic American carrots/raisons/cinnamon/nuts/cream/etc. I do enjoy looking at the display of cute mugs & cups at the bookshelves too. During Spring break; we came here three times within 4 or 5 days. We live in San Ramon so this tells you how much we enjoyed their drinks. My oldest daughter loves the Red Velvet frappe. On a Saturday; I called in my order of 5 drinks since my husband, oldest daughter, and her good friend were volunteering and setting up for a boxing event in Union City in between their track and field event in the tri valley. Despite it being an extremely busy Saturday; I made sure to "send my husband to pick up a 5 drink order." Lol. There are a lot of tables in Suju and it was busy whenever we stopped by. My husband didn't really care for the ambiance; but, I told him it was fine. It's definitely nothing fancy about it; but, if the drinks are good, I will drive for good drinks. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, and quick service. Picked up a large matcha latte (20 oz for $5.50) and bacon, cheese, egg croissant ($7.50). No extra charge for substitution of dairy (I chose almond milk since I'm lactose intolerant). You also have a selection of cheeses to choose from for your breakfast sandwich/croissant too. I chose provolone, but they have American, cheddar, pepper jack, etc. They also have a good selection of pastries and some pick and go chef or caesar salads ($8-9.50) for purchase. Plenty of seating indoors (18 tables of 4, 7 tables for 2) and wifi. They also seem to have a private conference room table for 8 people with a sliding glass door for noise reduction. This was my first time here the other day after passing by it many times, finally decided to give it a try & im so glad i did! It's very spacious inside & there is even a separate private room available for meetings or whatever. The menu is very big with a variety of coffees & teas along with pastries & even breakfast sandwiches & desserts. The manager is awful! The way he treated his customers, including me was disappointing. He told a kid studying across me, "this is not a babysitting place"; despite him having purchased a drink and pastry. Not only that, he rudely yells and raises his voice at customers! the coffee isn't amazing either! In summary, find somewhere else to get your coffee. However, the ambiance is nice. This is such a spacious café and they have cool decor and coffee mugs you can buy. Love the menu has lots of options and there are so many baked fresh pastries! The only reason I come to Suju's is because the tables are so spacious. One star for being a productive work location and that's really it... I feel like I've tried everything on the menu after having been a regular for nearly a decade. Again, due to seating availability and the fact that the location is so convenient for anyone I need to meet with. The drinks are really mediocre! I only order something out of courtesy because I use their space to get work done, but if you're looking for high quality delicious espresso drinks or coffee, this is not the place. I drink my espresso drinks and coffee black sometimes but I do not recommend doing so here. The matcha is low quality and not potent. I would only recommend getting sweet drinks here that are basically desserts. Chai, frappes, etc. are the way to go because everything else is not great. The pastries are pretty good but I'm pretty sure they come frozen. Not a big deal for me personally because frozen isn't necessarily bad, nothing is really made in house though. I still like the pastries and they're some of the better offerings here. Just mentioning this because I know some people care and complain about that stuff. The lunch sandwiches are decent, I like that they're customizable using a form. The breakfast sandwiches are good as well. Overall I'd say the best items to order from Suju's are a sweet drink, any sandwich, or pastry. The service is hit or miss. Some of the employees are so hospitable and friendly, and others are kinda just doing their job which is okay but then it's just... okay. Additionally and most importantly, every interaction I've either had or witnessed with any of the owners (three I think) was horrendous. They seem like cranky mean guys. Under friendlier ownership I'd give Suju's a 3 stars. 4, if they improved their drinks. So interesting how Suju's has a chokehold on Fremont even though everyone I know pretty much agrees with everything I've written here. Honestly the history of Suju's, word of mouth, wide array of tables, and convenient location does the heavy lifting. I would recommend coming here to do work and that's kind of it... This is my first time visiting the Fremont location. I normally go to the Suju in Union city. Staffs are nice. However, it seems rather disorganized with the ordering & making the drinks. I went early morning before 7am and ordered my drinks. It seems that my order was forgotten and people who came in after got drinks. I was standing so long that one employee asked me again what my order is verbally. She apologized which is totally fine, but I hope they can fix and improve the efficiency/flow in this cafe. Stopped by Suju's Coffee while visiting for the weekend, and I can see why it's so highly rated. We tried the Peruvian coffee, Caramel macchiato, and Matcha with oat milk--all super tasty and perfect for the gloomy weather. I also loved that they sell bags of their coffee beans and have cool mugs and tumblers. Prices were really reasonable too! The only thing I'd suggest is taking names for orders since it gets pretty loud inside, and it was hard to hear when drinks were ready. Grab and go or sit down and hang, Suju's is one of Fremont's top cafe spots. There are a few locations now in the area but this Thornton location was the original and I'm still partial to it for some reason. My second favorite would be the one on Stevenson. And I'm sure the one in UC is great, too, I just don't get over there hardly ever because there are these two near me to choose from. The other spots are just as good but I feel the Thornton one just has the rhythm down a notch better. Its ambiance is a no frills cafe with wooden tables and chairs but no wall art so it gives off the essence of being a functional cafe. There are tables for two. Then the tables can be pushed together for larger parties. And in one corner there is a sofa for a slightly more lounging feeling. There are a few high tops and even bar style seating. If they play music, it's not so loud it intrudes on conversations but sometimes it's also just quiet. Great place to work, read, relax, catch up with friends! There is one private room with a large conference style table inside but I believe you have to reserve it. They have good food, good drinks, delicious baked goods. They sweetened and unsweetened options. I think everyone can land on something that they'll enjoy. They have lots and lots of variety of food and beverage choices. The WiFi is good but it is public, not protected. And there are plugs around for recharging but it is only in certain spots so just hope or move to it when it becomes available. The only thing missing is a bit more style and character but when it comes down to things, it sort of doesn't really matter much because everything else is great! read more

If you love black coffee - smell, taste, etc. this is your spot. I go here daily for my coffee fix because their coffee is really that good and fresh. They roast their own beans in house and they have a rotating menu daily of different blends to try: French roast, Roma, Kelessi, etc. their coffee does have LESS caffeine than Starbucks so you may want to add an extra shot to whatever you are ordering to get that extra kick (they have something called an eye opener which adds a shot to your drip coffee) It's a very family friendly place with customers that have been coming for years. Prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of seating to knock out some work or study. This is a no-frills coffee shop. It's not a coffee shop where they are going to try to dazzle you with all the BS pour overs and fancy drinks. They have been around for decades as many coffee shops come and go. If you just want good coffee and a place to get some work done, this is your spot. The owner is always there and he is working nonstop - the associates are all very friendly. What's happened to the quality of Suju's muffins? I purchased a blueberry muffin and an orange cranberry muffin today. BLAH! The blueberry muffin was dry and the only blueberries in the entire muffin were on top! The same with the orange cranberry muffin...dry and only a few cranberries on top. The orange cranberry muffin definitely had a funny taste... two bites and in to the garbage. The quality of these two items has gone downhill since my last purchase. This is the best place to get any type of work or studying done. There are lots of tables with ample seating room and available charging ports. The food isn't out of this world amazing but it's pretty good-especially the sweeter drinks (java chip frappe 10/10). The only thing I would warn people about is the owner. He's pretty psycho; he'll get in literal KIDS' faces and yell about how they're disrespecting his restaurant. One of these days someone needs to call the cops on him smh. So watch out and don't bring even a crumb of outside food into the cafe or around the parking lot outside of it cause apparently that's "his property". Other staff are usually polite and helpful. Finally a review! I have been going to this place religiously for maybe a year now on the weekends. I either get a frappe or an ice coffee depending on the weather and how I'm feeling but always with an extra shot of espresso. This place is huge. Its a great spot for studying. There are many tables and their hours are pretty long. Other than the coffee offerings, they also have a huge case with breads, desserts, other to-go items, and they got breakfast sandwiches, juice and tea. Anyone can go here and find something they will be interested in. The service is usually pretty quick, and the ladies are always so kind. I'm from the Sacramento area and really wish we had a Suju's Coffee nearby! Every time I visit the Bay, it's a must-stop for me. Like many others here, Suju's was a go to for my friends and I when we wanted to venture off campus to get some work done together. There's LOTS of tables, and different sizes too so you can work alone or with a group. The WiFi has been solid when I've been, but it does get spotty if you're trying to do things that require better speeds (like taking a zoom call). But if you just need emails and internet, you're set. Coffee is good but if you're a coffee snob or particular about your espresso drinks, this is not the place to expect anything fancy. Their menu is huge and they've got lots of syrups so you can do a lot of customizing. When I've ordered flavored lattes, they do get sweet so I recommend mentioning if you'd like it to be less sweet. During my last trip, I got an Italian soda and it was delicious. I don't know why I haven't been getting those all this time! It's a great non-caffeinated option if you have already had enough caffeine for the day. The best thing about Suju's is their prices. So budget friendly, especially in comparison to other coffee/tea places in the area. Think $3-5 ea unless you get real fancy or go for larger sizes. The pastries too! I recently got the almond croissant and honestly... 10/10 especially if you warm it up. Pretty lackluster in my opinion. The pastry display is extensive and they're located in a plaza so parking is abundant. I did enjoy looking through all their mugs for sale while waiting for my latte, but if your goal is to get good tasting coffee then I'd skip on Suju's. My fiancé and I were in the area, saw the good reviews, and popped by before dinner. Honestly, their prices weren't bad. In fact, it's slightly cheaper than Starbucks, which was pretty good. Unfortunately, the positives kind of end there. My fiancé opted for their matcha latte and I got their vanilla latte - both drinks iced. The flavors for both lacked in my opinion - the matcha latte tasted too milky and not enough matcha flavor to even be considered a matcha latte. I drank half my vanilla latte and tossed it. Service was meh. Can't say the workers wanted to be there and I'd be more inclined to tip if they actually made us feel welcomed instead of like a hindrance. read more

There are numerous plugs scattered across the room so you won't be without power. Looking for a caffeine fix? They have a full coffee bar and can supply you with a nice hot or iced cup of your favorite espresso bean soup and milk combination. Mocha, latte, cappuccino, americano, whatever you're feeling that day, they can make it! They won't break the bank either so you'll have a lot of mileage with your coffee allowance. With the affordability comes a drop of quality but it's not a huge drop. The whipped cream is from a cannister, pastries are so-so, and sandwiches aren't bad. When placing an order for sandwiches, you'll be asked to fill out an order sheet. As part of the decor, there's a huge wall of mugs, drink ware and brewing machines for coffee and teas. Some of them seem like collector items you'd find at a hobby store. If you're a collector, have a look and see if there's anything you can add to your trove. The staff are friendly here. You're expected to buss your own table so the touch points are very low. However, in those few interactions, the employees are very clear communicators and kind. I like their drink and food options here a lot. I enjoy their mango tea with extra mango syrup it's so refreshing...sometimes I will get their smoothies/blended drinks on hotter days, but my go-to is definitely the tea. They have good sandwhich options, and by that, I mean it's customizable to how you want it but it's been a hot minute since I've gotten a sandwhich from them because it takes a long wait until the sandwhich is done so... if you're looking to stop by really quick for a bite, wouldn't come here, or else you'll be waiting a while. They have croissants and cookies and other pastries as well... the cookies are mediocre but good for kids as they have fun icing designs on them. The staff here could be friendlier...
