This location is HUGE! So many menu items, pastries, coffee beans, and even mugs for sale! I got a Caramel Macchiato and it was INSANELY SWEET... like too sweet for me. However, it was a good caffeine kick. The drink took a few 5-10 minutes to come out, but overall nothing crazy. The baristas were really nice! The Ethiopian beans are also a great gift for my mom, and they're really reasonably priced! The staff even offered to grind the whole beans for me. How kind! Many people study here. Suju's is a Tri-City staple, and I decided to stop by this Union City location in the afternoon. As always, the vibe is calm and chill. The shop is very clean and has a nice open front that lets in plenty of natural light, which makes it a great place to relax. Suju's is also known for selling cool coffee mugs, which is a nice bonus. I usually go for the spinach and feta pastry, warmed up--and I asked the barista to heat it a little extra so it came out perfectly crispy. My vanilla latte came out fairly quickly right after my food order. The service is always friendly, and they have a solid assortment of cookies, pastries, sweets, and sandwiches to choose from. I've been coming to Suju's for the longest time now, and everytime I think of a place to finish my work and be productive, Suju's is definitely the place to go for me. It's not just the environment, but it's also the drinks that they have. They don't just have your basic cup of joe -- they pour a wide variety of beverages that span from classic espresso drinks to matcha lattes, ube lattes, and cold frappes that hit on warmer afternoons. I find that matcha-based options have raving reviews almost like the espresso coffee drinks as well. Recently I got a matcha espresso latte, and while the matcha taste was subtle, the shots still sat bold in my palate. It was balanced, whether you're sipping straight or in a milk-forward drink. The service and hospitality is pretty top-notch as well :) Suju's in Union City has literally been my morning ritual for the longest time now. This place is located inside of a plaza. It has lots of parking. When we came in on Saturday afternoon, it was busy with lots of people sitting in the seating area. We waited about 10 minutes for our drinks/pastry because there were other people in line. We got our chocolate croissant and ate that first. It was good, but there wasn't much chocolate inside. The iced matcha was also good, but if you want strong matcha taste it is more on the sweet side than strong matcha flavor. My bf ordered the coffee and said it was good. I liked the iced lavender oat milk latte, the coffee was strong with a hint of lavender. The avocado sandwich on light rye was fresh with crisp veggies but the sauce or the seasoning was too tangy for me. The Caesar salad was premade, simple but solid with crunchy lettuce and a good amount of parmesan. The chocolate croissant though, wasn't that great. I asked for it to be warmed up, but it still came out cold with the chocolate hard inside, so I didn't enjoy it. The iced matcha latte with honey was also lighter than I expected not as earthy as the matchas I usually get, so I'm not sure if the matcha mix itself is sweetened or not as concentrated. The ambience is nice, lots of students with laptops, hanging out and enjoying their coffee and the staff is super friendly, which I appreciated. Arrived on a Friday morning and was pleasantly surprised to see an abundance on tables and outlets against the wall for those there for a longer period of time. Now that it's been open awhile, I thought I'd refresh my review. This is a HOT spot for students/people in the area. There have been a couple of times I've gone where there was not a single seat open in the entire cafe. I've also noticed that people like to meet here in groups, whether to work, study together, or just for a catchup sesh. The seats next to the outlets go quickly, so much so that it's not uncommon for strangers to sit together at the same table due to lack of availability of space. Be cautious of leaving your belongings unattended, even if you're just going up to order - people can be callous and accidentally (or purposely) take something that's not theirs. The service here is very friendly, and most of their drinks are good. They also offer pastries, premade salads, and sandwiches made to order. It was definitely a smart marketing move to have a Suju's in this location (across from a large high school) as they're always packed! read more

After three years of countless constant visits to Suju cafe, I can confidently say that Suju Coffee is one of my favorite cafes of all time. When I lived closer to the Fremont location, it was where I spent entire day studying. I visited the Union city location for the first time and it did not disappoint. It never has. I am particularly grateful for everything this cafe offers, the pastries, the coffee, reliable Wi-Fi, accessible outlets and there were days when I had all three of my meals at Suju (studying, eating and filling myself with caffeine in one place.) The setup of the tables, the atmosphere, and the overall space are thoughtfully designed. I am always productive every time I am there. The Thornton location felt like home to me. I will always choose Suju over any other cafe. I am simply thankful for a place like this. The menu is also not overpriced at all, especially considering everything that the cafe offers. Service wise, it really depends on the person. Some staffs are very good and some are still learning( I assume), so it is totally understandable that the service isn't perfect all the time. I've tried this place maybe a handful of times, and today was my most recent visit. Although the staff are pretty friendly, and this cafe is pretty spacious, I don't like to say this, but I don't think I'm a fan of their drinks for now. Last time before today, I ordered a white chocolate mocha and I think I forgot to sub regular milk for oat milk. It was just ok. I have also tried either a pastry or some dessert item ? In the past, but found those to be nothing special either... I wish I'd remembered what I ordered so I could be more specific. Skip to today, I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese croissant and you could choose what cheese you want on it, so I picked cheddar. I did think that was good, and filling, but it does need a condiment on the side to go along with it. Just my opinion! I also order a chai frappe, and this was not a good choice. I didn't realize the chai was a pre-made mix from the store and it was too cold, thick tasting and hard to blend properly. I felt bad saying something since the drink seemed to have been from a store bought mix, so not sure what they could have done to improve it. Keep in mind I have had chai before, but I just didn't like the taste of this chai frappe. I ended up having to throw the drink away and I wasted like $5 :( Maybe I will get a smoothie or something instead next time, or stick to an easier drink. read more

The interior seating section is smaller than the Fremont branch off Stevenson Blvd, however it's still a spacious cafe with plenty of tables to get laptop work done. Given that a largely populated high school down the street (compared to Fremont location), it gets louder. There's more small talk amongst groups. Got the polar cap with whipped cream and I love the drink! It is not a frappe or a latte but somewhere in between. I personally like the texture as it is icy but not completely blended. They have 2 restrooms with a code. It is a great place to work/study and they have quite a bit of food/pastries. This is their third and newest location. Lots of space to have coffee and food with friends. Large selection of food, including sandwiches, bakery, good salads and more. A full coffee menu of both hot and cold. I had a medium cappuccino, which is a good size and a pretty good flavor. I also had a ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was toasted. your experience at suju can either be really great or extremely disappointing, nothing in between. their drinks and food are always hit or miss. here are my ratings based on all the things i've tried: -DO NOT get the matcha latte. does not taste like matcha. actually it just tastes like shrek milk. that's great if you're into flavorless caffeine but VERY disappointing if you wanted to taste matcha. no offense i just can't deal with their matcha...i can't even be performative with it -be careful on what smoothies you order. most are ok but some are overly sweet. i like the smoothies with "tart" fruits (e.g. strawberries). -have never tried the teas, hot chocolate, or milkshakes but all my friends like them. i suppose they're standard -have not tried coffee either but according to my bald dad (he's smart cause he has a never ending forehead) it is basic. not like philz or peets obviously. -sandwiches are yum! i like the croissant sandwiches. haven't tried desserts but they look yum too you have probably noticed by now that everything here is either extremely sweet or extremely watered down for me! however that might not be the same for you. take caution though and adjust as you like. there is a lot of space too! and cool mugs on the shelves. good place to work and yap with friends. read more

Coffee at decent prices with delicious pastries and free wifi? Yes please! Look no further for a nice spot to put some work in, collaborate with your team, or just hang out over some caffeine. Much like the other Suju down in Fremont, they have a wall of coffee and tea accessories including mugs, filters, and other collectibles. Always fun to walk in and be confronted by a wall of cute and nostalgic artwork placed in the form of drink ware. Prices for coffee is very reasonable when compared to the competitors. You don't really get that barista feel with your drink, but it's still a quick and friendly interaction with the staff. The drinks taste fine and meet expectations. The pastries are made locally from a few different bakeries, although I wish they had some fresh in-house goodies. Seating is plentiful, albeit crowded. The layout of the tables and chairs don't quite seem to foster an environment for working but more for dining. Due to the proximity of each table, it can be quite noisy even if you situated in the corner of the room. I would suggest doing work that doesn't require heavy concentration. Fortunately, the room is very well-lit and promotes a great environment for some reading (so as long as you have headphones in or are not easily interrupted with noise). Parking is easy. There is plenty of spaces in the huge lot. And if you're feeling some real food, you're in luck as this mall houses some great food options and a grocery store. After you're done grabbing a bite, come back and finish up your work with another caffeinated pick me up. Overall, I like this location a lot due to its cleanliness, staff friendliness, prices, food/drink options and proximity to other services. The only knock is the seating arrangement. I'm not a fan of the claustrophobic environment and since it's a popular spot due to its proximity to the high school, it gets packed. They do have outdoor seating but even those can get taken up quick. So if you do plan to come, come early! read more

This Suju's Coffee took over Starbucks in the Union Square Marketplace. They definitely feel and look way more spacious, as they took advantage of all the open space with more chairs / tables. Simple interior, but they have a lot of cute cups and teapots on display against the wall like their other 2 locations in Fremont - I saw some price tags on a few of the items, but I do not know if they were all for sale. Not much service and it was not that busy on weeknight, so orders came out decently quick. I ordered their Iced Matcha Tea Latte. It was creamy and not as sweet, which I liked, but after each sip, I feel like it made my mouth kind of dry. Not much ice, so the drink was as cold as I would had liked it to be. All of the menu items at Sujus are great, especially the drinks.my favorite is the polar cap with whip cream -- which is extra caffeinated and tastes like a coffee iced slushy. This is a really good place to hang out. There is ample seating to sit down study or have a conversation. High quality frappes, drinks and teas for a decent price. They also have a great selection of pastries, salads, desserts and sandwiches. It's open! Today marks the grand opening of the first Suju's in Union City and I'm so excited! I've been going to the Stevenson and Thornton locations for years now. This location is a little bit smaller than the other two locations but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. They have the exact same menu options at the other locations have, and some familiar faces as well. Some of my favorite drinks they have are: 1. Chai Latte with Oat Milk - extra hot 2. Iced Latte with Oat Milk and Pistachio Syrup 3. Ice Cap - it is sweet so fyi Some of my favorite foods: 1. It's always busy with a younger crowd, but I appreciate that there are people and community that are still enjoying the coffee shop culture and being out and socializing rather than at home and being on a screen. I used to go to the other Suju's locations to study during college! Now I live near one! The coffee here is always good. I usually get an iced coffee or iced espresso with room for milk and sugar. I love that it is way more affordable than Starbucks and tastes way better. Starbucks tastes burnt. Their sandwiches are also delish! I love that you can make it yourself (there's a small paper at the register for you to fill out). My husband comes here to work sometimes. There are outlets along the wall. I do have to say that it can get loud during the school year right after school because the highs school is right across the street. !! I think it would be a good idea to install some blinds for the windows for people to sit there and not be affected by the sunlight and the contrast light inside the store. read more
