They are a franchise with a lot of locations in Michigan and NY but this is currently their ONLY location in California so consider it a special exclusive for now. They have coffee and pastries you will not find anywhere else in Fremont and remind me of some of the "Little Arabia" neighborhoods you normally only find in LA on the West Coast. Mufawar Coffee : Before cappuccinos and lattes, there was Mufawar. Born in Yemen's highlands, this creamy, cardamom-infused coffee made my morning, I loved being able to choose the sweetness level. Bee Bites: Sliced like a pie, covered in honey, delicious pastry with cheese inside. The kids loved this and debated over who got the last piece. Fatayer: I've had the chicken, beef, and spinach & feta and all were excellent. It's snack-sized and not too big and actually a perfect size for me to pair with their excellent coffee. Musakhan Chicken Roll: Chicken, olive oil, onion, spices. Again, I might be in the minority but I like snack sized food and not too big. I split this in half as a 2 snacks and it was excellent. Za'atar and cheese croissant: Za'atar is one of my favorite spice combos and Ioved it on this croissant, I reheated this in a toaster oven at 350 degrees at home and it was excellent! Open and airy space that's condusive to casual business meetups, studying, and hanging out for a good cup of coffee. They bring your order to your table which a nice plus. I got a Decaf Pistachio Mocha Latte with Oat milk. They have a Dubai Chocolate Latte but it's only served cold. So the cashier said she can make the Decaf Pistachio Mocha Latte hot, that would essentially be the same thing. My daughter got the Iced Banana Matcha Latte. The drinks were presented in an aesthetically pleasing and thoughtful glass and mug. The alt Dubai was good. Came out Hot which I like. And there was a good amount of mocha. The smell of chocolate drew me in but I had to give it a moment to breathe. I took a sip from the kataifi side of the mug and was hoping for a small mouthful of the crunchy bits. I felt it could have had more kataifi sprinkled in and more rich with milk for a $10 drink. It tasted good but each time I took a sip I felt needing just a bit of help hitting the spot. The Matcha was very good. Smooth and creamy, The glass wasn't filled to the rim with ice but topped with a nice foam head. I think there was a bit lacking here also with the matcha experience. I get charging a certain price. But if you are, then be better at what your making and serving than what your charging to keep your customers coming back often. I stopped by with my sister to try a mix of drinks and food. Mango matcha unfortunately lacked any real matcha flavor. The drink was delicious, but just wished the matcha flavor came through. The Turkish coffee had a very strong, unpleasantly bitter and burnt taste. I did notice the cardamom flavor, but the burnt bitter taste was overpowering. The Sana'ani coffee was was a lighter, mild, and more drinkable compared to the Turkish coffee. The cardamom flavor came through really nicely. I liked this drink. For food, the chicken shawarma was actually good. I really liked it, though the bread was a bit soggy and didn't seem evenly heated as some bites I took were cold. We also tried the kunefe. I liked the sweetness, but it was served cold and the cheese was rubbery. Overall, it was a mixed experience. We came to get a late night cup of coffee and a savory snack at about 8:30. Happy to learn they are open til 11pm. We had iced lattes and asked for 50% sweetness. We ordered a coconut matcha latte and a decaf Biscoff latte. Both were delicious even with the reduced sweetness. We ordered the chicken schwarma warmed up and it was delicious. The cafe has had some updates with new images on the wall and a new floor. There are ample tables and the space is huge. They also had a large screen tv on for soccer. The food display was filled with a lot of delicious desserts but we did not order anything this time. I noticed that they also have free board games available. I appreciate the REAL coffee glasses and food plates (not plastic) and the feel of a "sit down and stay awhile cafe." The service was polite. Wanted to try the newer coffee shop in Fremont that is similar to Qamaria. We really liked Qamaria so it was cool to find a similar one a little closer to home. Plenty of parking in front and the cafe is hard to miss by a major road. The deco inside is modern and decently sized, plenty of sitting areas. It wasn't busy when we went, not many people inside but some of the tables were dirty. We see the staff standing around and chatting. I think staff should be more proactive and clean the place than standing around. We weren't even that close to the front and we can here what was getting talked about. From the desserts to the drinks - there was nothing enjoyable about the items here. My nephew got the oreo cheesecake and you would've never guessed it was that flavor. It was an overwhelmingly strong cream cheese flavor with a very hard graham cracker crust. I got a decaf Moka latte with oat milk. It said it had hints of cardamom and honey but was extremely watered down. It tasted more like water with a hint of instant coffee powder. After a decent visit from Yelp Elite Event last month, I decided to try again with a different menu. I got their iced shaken brown sugar espresso as part of Fremont Restaurant Week special. I couldn't taste the brown sugar and the barista put so much ice I couldn't shake and stir the espresso at all. I also tried their chicken shawarma and remembered to ask them to toast it. It had more lemon zest, pretty much like eating lemon juice chicken pastry. Overall, I ended up spending $21 for two items including tips. Still didn't taste good and more expensive than Qamaria. I'll stick to their Adeni Chai for now. I really liked their atmosphere of this cafe, the morning quietness, including the coat rack next to the single tables. We were looking for a place to hang out after dinner and for a sweet treat and this place popped up as recommended! We loved how it was open late, had drink and dessert options, and had plenty of space for people to hang out. The place was brightly lit, had plenty of seating, and the vibe definitely encouraged socializing as the place had music and large groups talking. There was a variety of seating options and what I'm assuming was little coat racks for guests to bring to the side of their table to place bags or coats. There was even a little bookcase with different board games, both family-friendly and not, ready for use. The bathroom was tucked away and had air freshener as well (no explanation needed). After ordering, workers will bring your food and drinks to your table with a table marker. Everything was beautifully presented. We ordered hot chocolate which wasn't on the menu, but it was very hot and delicious, and worth it for $5 for a large. Staff was friendly and quick, especially when they noticed we hadn't received our drinks with our desserts, and in giving us to-go containers. The cheesecake was soooo good! They even had a little menu board displaying staff favorites. I got a slice of the oreo cheesecake and a slice of the biscoff cheesecake, which I ate about half of each before taking home. Loved my experience at Moka & Co! All the food and drinks tasted great, loved the open aesthetic, and it seems like a great place to get some work done!! The staff was wonderful, we wanted to try the Dubai chocolate coffee in a hot version and the barista customized a drink for us to try it as it usually only comes iced, and it tasted great!! There are board games available and several TVs. The FIFA game was on the tv but the volume was loud luckily, since it's still a cafe. We ordered so much food, we wanted to try them all. Our servers were pretty surprised at the amount of food we ordered between two people. The pistachio latte was by far the best I've ever had. The strawberry matcha was just as delicious and tasted of fresh strawberries and not jam. Our favorite desserts were the mango milk cake, Dubai milk cake and biscoff cheesecake. The milk cake resembled tres leches. The biscoff cheesecake had a creamier cheese which helped offset the biscoff sweetness. Their chocolate chip cookie was really good too, chewy and crispy with a hefty amount of chocolate chips. The savory items we liked the most were the chicken shawarma and beef fatayer. The musakhan chicken roll was good too but we felt like it needed a sauce. We also ordered pastries, I don't remember the name but it was filled with cheese and drizzled with honey. There's both savory & sweet food offerings in the display case and they can warm up the items for you. There's some yummy looking desserts! The coffee shop is huge and beautiful! Everything is so new and clean and has a great vibe. Service took probably 5 mins for preparation with no lines. I've been on the search for a great cafe with comfy seats because I'm studying for hours sitting down and the seats here are so comfy! I prefer sitting against the walls but they have plenty of tables that can accommodate a pair or 4 people. The only downside is the parking lot directly in the front gets full but there is another lot on the side that has more vacancy. Also the bathroom could use more cleaning and re-stocking. Tables could also be wiped down after each use and floors are filthy. I can't say much about their food/pastries (haven't ordered but they do look delicious). I've ordered coffee multiple times here and can confidently say this is a solid coffee shop! I've never had yemeni coffee before so I don't have anything to compare it to. All I know is they are very consistent with their drink making skills! I've tried their white mocha, regular mocha, iced biscoff latte, and their pistachio matcha. Out of those four, my favorite has to be the biscoff if you're looking for something slightly sweeter. On a day to day basis I order the white mocha. After ordering a couple of times I find that their regular sweetness is not enough in my opinion, so I ask for extra sweetness. I typically like my coffee to be right in the middle of sweet and strong. The matcha was pretty disappointing, there is really no flavor in it at all. I would skip out on this unless you like a subtle taste of matcha. As for their desserts, I was blown away. We did request for a light sugar and it came perfect; Pistacchio cheesecake - I like a strong taste of pistacchio and I did not get that satisfaction with their pistacchio cake. So I did asked my companion if she could actually taste it, because, maybe it's there but subtle... and she said no. The only time I tasted a subtle pistacchio flavor was when I tried eating the crumbles on the top. Service was good. My friend got the saffron latte (less ice, medium sweet) and a rose cake. The latte was decent, but the rose cake was a miss--it tasted overly sweet and kind of artificial. Also, the cake was served in a to-go box even though we were dining in, which felt odd. Not sure if that's standard or just because they were super busy. As for the vibe: the space is large with plenty of seating, but it gets very loud. If you're looking for a calm, cozy café to read or work, this isn't it. We were in the mood for a sweet treat and decided to check out this new ish cafe! Parking was a bit tough as the lot is on the smaller side but we were able to find a spot fairly quickly. We entered in and we're immediately greeted. There were lots of unique drink options and baked treats (both sweet and savory). There weren't any gluten free options available. We went with the Adeni chai and for desserts we tried the Nutella cheesecake, pistachio cheesecake, and the saffron milk cake. We were able to grab a table as we waited. We saw there were lots of board games available to use. The wait for our drink and food was about 15 - 20 min (they were quite busy). The chai was perfectly spiced.
