Love this place!! We had to drive 25 minutes out of the way for dessert and it did not disappoint!…read moreThere were shaved ice, ice cream, smoothies, and alkaline water. The people helping us were so fast and kind. We asked them what we should do later that night and they gave us good recommendations for out-of-towners. Our ice cream was delicious. I got the kid size Oreo! It was so good. We ate our ice cream in their back patio. They have a tarp and some picnic benches for their customers. There's an afghan market next door where we got bread to-go! It is a perfect spot!

Unfortunately, the service didn't match my expectations. After waiting in line, the woman at the register finished helping the customer ahead of me, then walked away without acknowledging me. I stood there for a bit until a young man noticed and kindly stepped in to take my order. I really appreciated his attentiveness and friendliness. While waiting for my two hibiscus lychee green teas, I noticed some confusion behind the counter. The employee preparing the drinks couldn't find the green tea and had to keep asking the same woman for help. She eventually took over, but the drinks didn't taste right. There was no green tea flavor, or lychee only hibiscus (I'm not saying she didn't add it, it didn't taste like it.) Honestly, the bigger issue for me was the lack of customer service. The previous location I used to visit always felt welcoming, so this was disappointing. A simple acknowledgment like "I'll be right with you" would have gone a long way. That said, I DO want to give credit to the employee who stepped in and helped me--he was polite and attentive. As for the woman with short hair, I hope she works on her customer service approach. I may come back to try the ice cream since I think it's Gunther's and that's always a safe tasty choice, but I likely won't be ordering the iced teas again. March 18,2026 @6:58ish pm

Took 3 to-go to share with friends. The best! The quiche is also extremely delicious! Not pictured but get it with the green sauce. Stopped by here for breakfast at the recommendation of a friend…read more I was immediately disappointed by the menu. It did not look like it would really fill the emptiness that was in my stomach. It seemed much more like a small bite sort of place which maybe it is but... I don't know what they do with their food, but oh my God everything is so filling. Like I really don't feel like I ate a lot of food at all, especially comparative to some of the breakfasts I usually stuff down my mouth. I'm like uncomfortably full right now. We both got full And I've got a bunch of leftovers in the fridge. What I liked: their bread was really, really good. The bread they used on the ham and cheese sandwich was really tasty and it really made the sandwich. The croissant I got ....the walnut croissant super tasty and probably one of the better croissants I've had in a while. The ratatouille which I didn't think would be a good for breakfast was super tasty. Super rich, but really nice. What I didn't like: it is straight up criminal that the two slices of bread were extra with that ratatouille. you absolutely need that for dipping. Go ahead and include it in the price, but there is no way in hell that should be extra. Ham was only half warmed but that's OK... It was fine and part of me is happy that someone didn't have to stick their finger inside my sandwich.

Estelle is a great local choice at DOCO, they offer great coffee, tea, pastries and savory bites…read more I typically only stop by this location when I'm at DOCO for another reason, like an event at the arena, but Estelle is a great stop for any occasion. They have some indoor and outdoor seating and it's a great date night spot or quick stop to pick up a drink and a bite. On my latest visit I popped in with some friends and we ordered some of their desserts and a loaf of bread. I took home a chocolate mousse cake and it was both beautiful and delicious. Whenever I visit the staff is friendly and the food and drinks are consistently delicious and fresh.

I only intended on grabbing one but everything looked absolutely beautiful so I couldn't make up my mind. The cherry pastry was a stunner and delicious as well with great flavor and a nice balance of sweetness. My husband wanted the Estelle Noisette and although it was good, it was my least favorite of the three. It had pleasant nutty flavors but it was a little too rich for me. In the end, the real standout was the Blueberry Choux. The cream was light and fluffy and it had just the right amount of blueberry flavor. I really liked the texture of the pastry too and how it complimented the fluffy cream. I would definitely order that one again and highly recommend it. The pastries are definitely on the pricey side, but the quality and presentation justify the cost. The interior of the shop was nice and definitely reminded me of patisseries in France. There was plenty of seating available inside but I took my order to go. I'm really glad I finally got to give them a try and while not every item was a home run for me, the Blueberry Choux alone made the visit worthwhile. I will definitely be back to explore more of their offerings very soon.

As a student, I was eternally grateful for the outlets under the tables as well! I tried the Abuelita hot chocolate and some cookies. The cookies were a bit dry, but the hot chocolate was fantastic, tasted like when my grandma makes it at home. The area surrounding the cafe is the Golden One Center so there are so many places to walk around if you are working or studying and need a break! The staff was also very friendly, and I got my drink and cookies almost immediately. Will definitely be coming again, to try the food and a matcha! Maybe even there gigante concha!

Café de Olla is a classic Mexican coffee that offers a well-balanced blend of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, often served with heavy cream to give you a comforting and energizing boost. Traditionally, it's even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It's meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café's version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn't offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you're going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again.

They had an employee at the entrance managing the flow of customers, which kept the shop from feeling overcrowded and made the wait much more pleasant. The staff was friendly and encouraged us to try samples before deciding, which was a nice touch considering how many unique flavors they offer. I ended up getting the Chocolate Gooey Brownie, and wow it was absolutely to die for! Rich, creamy, and packed with chocolate flavor, it was easily one of the best scoops of ice cream I've had in a long time. My husband got a grape flavored ice cream (I can't remember the exact name), and he loved it too. The menu has tons of creative flavors to choose from, there's outdoor seating available, and the overall atmosphere is great. If you're in Sacramento and craving ice cream, Salt & Straw is definitely worth the visit!
