Cain was amazing with the estimates. I changed my mind several times about what we wanted. And he was very flexible. Ended up with the mohawk, rev wood in our downstairs which was about 1500 ft.². The workmanship that the crew did was perfect. They had to tear out tile, old laminate hardwood and carpet, they cleaned up each evening before they left. The baseboards are perfect! We have lots of corners and odd walls and all turned out perfectly. Very, very happy with the results, looking forward to getting new carpet after the first of the year. read more

I will only work with one contractor in the Sacramento Area, and it is "Cain". He is honest and stands by his work. I had more than floors done on my rental to get ready to sell. Patched walls, floors, base boards, electrical lighting, counter tops, counters, roof repair, door repair. Everything was done to right and got the house sold within a one week of listing. It started out great... Cain seemed to be friendly and knowledgeable. His team was great they were professional and efficient. Then concerns came up....the top drawer they put in my bathroom was damaged but they put it in anyway. No one told us I found out on my own while I was trying to figure out what was wrong with the other two drawers. The other two drawers would not close properly. They had to come twice to fix the drawers and they still don't close properly. They also put in a very small sink that I did not choose. They did change it. After a month of being complete the caulking around the toilet deteriorated. They didn't turn on the hot water for the sink I had to call him and ask him how to do it. I paid for the bathroom completely and when the drawers weren't closing or I needed him to replace the top drawer I had to call over and over and over. I was concerned he wouldn't send anyone because I already paid in full. You would think a company would make sure the customer that paid in full would definitely be considered a priority. I had to wait several weeks after I paid and I had to keep reaching out to him... he would respond once in a while but when I would text him after a week or two he wasn't responding. That is when I felt he was no longer being professional. I have another bathroom to remodel but I will be looking elsewhere. I need a company that is professional from beginning to end. read more

We visited their Elk Grove location on a Saturday. A nice young woman showed us samples and we chose a carpet. We provided her an address and phone number and asked that someone call us and schedule an appointment to measure for our new carpet. We had already picked out a carpet we liked at Sulca's and were ready to buy. We just needed a price and an install date. We never received a phone call. We did get an email that I responded to. But I didn't receive any further response by email or phone. We ended up buying elsewhere two weeks later. read more

Sulcas is a family owned small business. So when people complain about them not answering or calling back immediately it's because they are already serving their clients. I have had them replace carpet in the past and recently install vinyl flooring. They have installed flooring for my family and friends. Like I said they are small and have most times one guy installing. I have called around in the past but once Sulcas saved me thousands I stopped. If you want hardwood/vinyl ask for Jesus and for the trim/baseboards ask for Mark. Unbelievable attention to detail and both are Master Journeyman and their work proves it. The owner , Rafael, is great. I Am a return customer. He said it would be no problem to patch in the bathroom. But I wish his son Cain was more responsive. I texted him and he said he was booked 3 weeks out. I said ok, no problem, and can you add me to your schedule for 3 weeks. He said my floor was discontinued, so I said ok, I have extra boards in the garage. I reached out to him once a week to see when he could come, and he stopped responding altogether. Ok, I guess he was busy, but I wish he could have told me straight out that he couldn't do it. I felt like he strung me along for over a month, and my remodel was off schedule because of him. When It comes to floors I've experienced it all. Buying and flipping a few properties I've seen many different types of laminate and I've used many different installers. The experience I had with Cane, his father, and all the installers was the best by far. Sulca's had a large variety of floors for me to choose from. I decided to go with a very nice, higher grade laminate. On day one the installer came to my home and knocked all the demolition out, quick and clean. The next day he prepped the floors and cleaned up. By day 4 my floors and stairs were all installed. Then another crew came in to install the base boards and paint. They also did excellent work. The whole job went smoothly and I am so happy with the outcome. The floors look and feel good. I am definitely going to us them again when I re-do the tile in the bathrooms. read more

Full disclosure: I did not use this company for my project. I called to set up an appointment for them to come out and measure for my job. Gave them a 1.5 weeks notice. 5 minutes before our scheduled appointment time, Cain texted me to say they will be 90 minutes late. I already have another quote scheduled with a different company at that time. If you can't even make the effort to get to a possible sale or you know that you will for sure not be on time, don't text 5 minutes before. If you can't even respect your customers time, there are tons of other companies out there who are willing to work for your hard earned money. I was weary already with the other negative reviews, and I am actually glad I found out about this before we were under any sort of contract. read more

I would advise all of my friends and anyone reading this review to completely stay away from Sulca's carpet store. You will be disappointed on each and every level, only to be told in the end that they can't help you and "Here's your bill". The communication is deplorable and scheduling is mind-boggling difficult. They work your job on their time instead of them working on your time. They don't care about your schedule or getting back to you when you inquire about what's happening next. They basically want your money and don't care if you are satisfied with anything. They have no follow through, no supervision, no standard of acceptable completion, they are bothered when you ask for information and the customer service is the worst we've ever experienced. They leave the job with a mess for you to clean up, and they also cut corners and overcharge. The workmanship is similar to what a non skilled person would do! HORRIBLE!! Instead of the saying "the customer is always right", their philosophy is "we are always right and the customer is always wrong". read more

This is my 1st time using Sulcas Carpets. Their service is great, their carpet price is very competitive, the carpet installation is also good, and timeline meets all our requirement. However, we were immediately greeted by Leslie. She is knowledgable, very nice and patient. She asked what we need and brought us to the corresponding sections with many carpet selections. She helped us to check the prices for about 15 different kind of carpets which we show the interest, and answered all our questions patiently. Since they don't have the carpet we selected in stock, Leslie followed up with the vendor the 1st thing the next Monday (6/4/18) so that we can get the carpets installed earlier. These renovations included interior and exterior paint, new flooring-hardwood and carpet, new tile, removing walls, major bathroom remodels, major kitchen remodel, new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, plumbing, electrical-and even a built in custom cat feeding station!! Just over two years ago our realtor represented us in the purchase of a manufactured home we LOVE. The negotiated purchase price included a credit for the replacement of seriously dirty old wall2wall carpet. Our realtor recommended Sulcas Carpets to install wall2wall carpet throughout the home, (except kitchen & bathrooms, of course). Being first-time homebuyers, we were inexperienced in a few aspects of the process. We ended up being ill-advised in our carpet and linoleum selections. It wasn't a shortage of funds that informed our flooring selection decisions. We failed to realize just how cheap carpet can be, and how flooring salespeople tend to assume people who would buy a manufactured home couldn't add funds to a carpet credit in order to avoid living with what can only be the WORST, CHEAPEST CARPET EVER MADE. If you are unfamiliar with flooring quality options, I suggest you should get advice from someone other than Sulcas. Our realtor was wonderful, and I recommend her without hesitation. I just wish someone had discussed the application of a carpet credit to the purchase of flooring. But, who? Maybe realtors just don't advise clients in such matters. We paid Home Depot's $50 fee for measurements, only to find out that not all home depot's offer the same specials. The price for Home Depot climbed over $500. Sulca's was recommended to us by a friend. Raphael the owner if very helpful, and made a few recommendations for us. We live about two hours away from the rental.
