best burger night in the area while also being an elite breakfast spot. service is always friendly and really good with kids and newborns.

This place is such a vibe. A solid staple for whenever you're craving good food, good coffee and a no frills environment that makes you feel like you're dining in a time capsule from the 1960's and beyond. When you walk in you're greeted by mirror paned walls speckled with random pieces of Philly nostalgia. Booths line one side while a counter lines the other and while the initial interpretation might leave you worried about having to wait, the place is quite spacious albeit narrow. Before even being seated, the waitress turned her head while walking us to the table and said, I'll get cha's wooder and coffee, k? Absolutely. Love it already. The menu is a mix blend of classics and imaginative spins. For our brunch we opted for "The Fishtown Scrapettizer" which is not your typical pork-centric scrapple. No, this scrapple is freaking delicious. Made with white fish and fried in a chonky square, placed a top of thick sliced tomato with a zesty mayo-based sauce then topped with a creamy tartar sauce, fried egg and sliced pepperoncini. Definitely order this. Next we opted for the "Shopsins Scramble" which came with eggs scrambled with blue cheese, bacon, baby spinach and avocado + choice of toast and potatoes or hash browns. I opted for rye and hash and both were delicious. All in all a good option and the blue cheese was an interesting addition to breakfast eggs I've never had before. Next was the classic #2 (2 eggs + 2 pancakes.+ choice of meat. Option for cheddar, American or Cooper Sharp for the cheese). Love the option for Cooper sharp and the bacon was perfectly crispy. Overall a good dish. Have heard fantastic things about their buttermilk pancakes and while solid, not completely blown away (there's a clubhouse nearby that still can't be beat when it comes to round breakfast cakes). Note that prices fluctuate because of eggs so what's listed on the menu isn't what you'll likely see reflected on your check. And speaking of, this place is a classic CASH ONLY (but they do have an ATM in the back). Sullimays. A sweet soulful spot that is a great place to grab breakfast or brunch with a group of good people.

Checked this place out since it was a short walk from my Airbnb. Can tell this is a place that locals love. Loved the vibe of the place and the workers were super nice and friendly. You got a lot of food for the price you paid. Both had a lot of leftovers. Take cash only but the have an ATM.

The vibe of the restaurant is super fun and unique which I love. The menu has some great options. The eggs were phenomenal however the pancakes lacked flavor. The texture of them was great but I wish the flavor was there. The French toast was great! And the Philly muffin was a great local item. Our server was amazing! I felt bad she was working alone today but she was awesome. She had such a great personality and wonderful attitude

Place off the beaten path that has amazing breakfast oh and looks like an old school diner!!! If that's what you are looking for this is a spot to add to your list! It a short walk from several areas. Heads up this is a CASH ONLY establishment, but they have an ATM in the back. You can ask pay via Venmo also. There are several options to choose from. If you are feeling more of a scramble, they got you....classic pancakes and eggs, they got you....they also have some specials options on the front part of the menu. Truly you can't go wrong. I ordered the Pine Barrens pancakes (wild blueberry filled pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup and pickled blueberries and it was DELICIOUS!!! I asked for a side of scrambled eggs (without cheese) but it came with cheese. Not a huge problem. The eggs were scrambled perfectly...they did the fluff and fold technique which I love. My brother ordered the numb#r two a with sunny side up eggs and corn beef hash. He loved it. He also order coffee and it came in a cute container that was able to site on the table. The service was great. It appears that anyone can take your order and bring your food or you can ask for whatever you may need. All in all it's a great place to stop by to get some delicious breakfast.

A classic diner vibe and food you can't go wrong with. The French toast is the best I've had in Philly so far, and my fiancé thoroughly enjoyed his chocolate chip pancakes - he rated them an 8.5. The hashbrowns were also good, a little more greasy for my liking, but we still ate the whole plate. This place is busy for a reason!

Finally got a chance to try this restaurant. The pancakes lived up to the hype as 1 of the best in Philly! I'd give them a 8.5/10 and to me they tasted very similar to IHOP (which is a great thing). The biscuit left much to be desired though and I would give that a 6.5/10 (the strawberry compote was great though and prevented me from grading the biscuit lower lol). All and all I LOVE that I have a restaurant with quality cakes on my backyard in Fishtown. Service was fast and efficient too. Will definitely be back! Cash only spot but they allow Venmo which I think is cool.

I'll be honest, what initially drew my attention to this restaurant was the hilarious meme mural on the side of the building. Aside from that, my group was pleasantly surprised with this diner. We ordered the Fishtown Scrappetizer, berry french toast, number 2, and lox eggs Benedict. The Fishtown Scrappetizer: crispy, saucy, and so yummy. You should get this. We were initially intrigued by fish being in the scrapple but was actually really good! The French toast was delicious and the berry flavor was wonderful. Although during those last couple bites the sweetness was a little too much. The lox eggs Benedict: probably the biggest disappointment of our dishes. The lox wasn't moist and the English muffin was also very dry. Hash on the side was great tho The number 2 was great! Classic. You can't mess this up. Eggs cooked perfectly over easy, two huge buttermilk pancakes, and breakfast sausage. Extremely filling and took home leftovers! Overall this was a solid diner experience. And the wait wasn't even too bad for a Sunday morning (10 minutes). CASH ONLY

The food was OK at best. The wait time was also pretty long, which made no sense because we were one of the first people there. The scrapple was good though Owner was a bit weird. He kept rambling on about politics. Like I'm just trying to eat food.....just a weird politically charged atmosphere.

The breakfast spot I have been dreaming of since I moved to Philly! This cozy, old-school diner is the place to go if you're looking for a solid spread. We were seated upon entry and immediately served a pitcher of hot coffee as we browsed our options. In addition to their regular menu, they had a bunch of sweet and savory specials. However, we decided to stick to the basics for our first visit. We both got two egg platter with scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes, and bacon, as well as shared a side of breakfast potatoes. Everything came out hot and fresh. The star of the meal were the fluffy, sweet blueberry pancakes that are definitely some of the best I have had in the city! The potatoes were super crispy on the outside, but warm and soft on the inside. As always, our eyes were much bigger than our stomachs, but I have no complaints about starting my Monday with a half stack of pancakes! Great food, kind staff, and comfy, diner atmosphere! Highly recommend -- don't forget it's cash only!

The music was good, but at a level we could have a great conversation. The roast beef sandwich on a Kaiser roll was tasty, although I'm more used to it on a hoagie or slightly shorter sub roll. That being said, my reco would be like we did - go for the superb (wow!) smoked, dry rub wings and onion rings with Sriracha aioli. (Note - The light, large rings used a Tempura batter.) Both items were totally awesome! If you're in Olde City, definitely should consider stopping by Nick's friendly bar & grille.

Campos is a small strip fast food dine in that appears to be well kept in and out. unfamiliar with the social popular attraction this restaurant gets.. but i chose to eat here as it was closest to us after visiting the adventure aquarium (great aquarium i recommend it) so that we could try authentic philly cheesesteak but sadly i was slightly disappointed and here s why: before i give my opinion i'd like to state i got a the italian cheesesteak rather get a simple cheesesteak and that's my mistake there but after noticing no prices were marked on the menus i already felt off about it. in total my gf and i each got 1 sandwich and a fountain drink bringing the total up to 49 dollars.. i didn't have time to react but seeing the prices set my expectations high. i was expecting to be blown away by being served the messiest cheesesteak i'd ever eaten so gooey and greasy it'd take years off my life but when we unrolled our sandwiches i was immediately let down. sandwiches didnt look appetizing and the italian cheesesteak tasted like i was eating one large cooked broccoli. there were peppers in my sandwich that had a whole lot of heat which i enjoy in a good sandwich but the heat came with no flavor and was too intense for me to taste and enjoy even the overwhelming broccoli flavor from the sandwich. i will say the sharp provolone was delicious when i could taste it but sadly that's all i take from my sandwich. my gf got the cheesesteak hoagie and says the flavor was good and enjoyed her sandwich but feels the price is ridiculous for the quality and i sadly have to agree. if i'm going to spend more than i would at applebees.. yes.. applebees.. for food that wasn't as good as applebees then i expect to be blown away. staff was average they weren't rude no complaints there. the store is air conditioned and well kept considering the very limited seating due to high traffic with pictures and painting on the walls with some historic look-backs to its earlier years. Overall i won't base my entire opinion on philly cheesesteaks from this review. i've heard from locals and family that you want to find the food trucks that serve cheesesteak as they have what i'm looking for. will i come back here? no. -update: the owner posted a comment to my review saying i should get out more then began to compare prices to other places that might just have better food i've never received this type of feedback but this is also my lowest rating so far so i'm i guess i'm not too surprised.
