What can anyone really say. Prompt response to a late phone a call, Arrived in a very timely manner, though communication was poor about how payments would be handled. They the job done, at midnight on a holiday weekend. It'll cost you. Be prepared to spend about $600 in an emergency lock out. Also be prepared to go to your ATM, apparently cards are a no-go. Not a fun experience but definitely one I won't be repeating. Duplicate your keys and make friends with your neighbors. It's worth it. read more

My experience with Sullivan's Locksmith was great. I went there today to get my key duplicated. I called first to see if my key could get duplicated and was told yes. Arthur explained to me that he was at a job and that he would be back to the store in an half an hour. I was so happy the key was able to be duplicated that I waited. He was very kind and waived the weekend/after hours extra charge fee since I was willing to share my experience on yelp. It ended up costing $120 (not sure how this rate compares to other locksmiths). Afterwards he helped me adjust my door's autolock setting so I wouldn't lock myself out again. Arthur was incredibly helpful and responsive. His price was VERY FAIR considering I was in a desperate situation. He helped instead of taking advantage (90% of the time when I need some service in W. Village / Greenwich area, I feel like I am being ripped off). I needed to let guests in at 4pm, and I called him desperately at 1pm asking for his help as the door knob was broken. I got locked out of my apartment, as it's a slam-lock door and I had just moved in and was still getting used to the building. I talked to the locksmith the company dispatched to me on the phone, and he told me it would be $65 consult plus whatever service charges. Fine. When he got to the building, he told me it would be another $225 based on my lock. (*cried inside, but*) fine. He led me to believe that would be the full cost, so I said to go ahead. So then my lock was removed, and he then told me it would cost me another $350 for a new lock plus 80 for labor. He had spent maybe 1 minute just drilling into my old lock so....that $225 was just for that??!! I was furious that he had misled me initially-I was a solo female late at night locked out, and felt he had intentionally used misleading language to trick me about the pricing or mislead me to allow him to do the job. So now I have no lock plus the door is unusable-will lock automatically still. Locksmith then proceeded to hit on me over and over, asking if I wanted to take a shower with him, pretending to take his shirt off, asking for my phone number, asking to go to dinner after. I said there was no way I could afford over 700 for a lock change and he surveyed my apartment and said-"oh really?" Also continually commented on how my negotiation was "sexy." SO unprofessional. Shady pricing communication, pricing on the spot based on an estimated willingness to pay, creepy sexual advances. 1 star only because he arrived quickly on a Saturday night. read more

He offered to refund me the money for the work done on the handle for the elevator door (see below). He was very apologetic and offered to fix the damage (which wasn't necessary as it had already been taken care of).
