Wish there was a barrier separating me from the people in front of me at the side seating area or a bar to rest my feet on. Feel like I kept kicking the people in front of me Edit: I have kicked the person in front of me 3 times in the last 5 minutes. Two other people by me expressed the same concerns. Change me to 4 or 5 by gettimg foot bars.

While I have many fond memories of it's previous location across the street (now Archetype), the new location is simply way better. Sure, Sulivan's has lost its divey-ness, but swapping it out for a much larger space that is dark and cozy and comfortable was definitely the right move. Head there on Thursdays for some of the best karaoke in town. Head there on a Wednesday afternoon for a couple day drinks and some shuffleboard. Really, head here anytime and have a great time. Sullivan's is the long-time west end anchor of the Blackstone District, and there's good reason way.

I guess it would be fitting to make my first review the place I hang out the most. I've been going to Sullivan's for nearly a decade and love both its old location and the new and improved spot. Drink prices are extremely reasonable. $1 PBR drafts on Mondays, a wide variety of $2-4 shots, pretty much every beer is under $5 with cocktails also in the $4-6 range depending on what you get. Plus free popcorn and free munchies during Husker games. Sullivan's also has a lovely patio with a fireplace, the old shuffleboard table from the 49'r, lots of TVs, Golden Tee, karaoke on Thursdays and a Touchtunes jukebox. The crowd varies from chill but welcoming regulars in the afternoons to skewing younger and a little more crazy on late nights and weekends. It's obvious the gang at Sully's takes pride in the place and what they do. They're all a friendly bunch, so whether you're wanting an after-work beer while watching Jeopardy or you want to kick it with the college kids on a Friday night, make your way to Blackstone for this pillar of the community.

Excellent selection of craft beers! And the bourbon bbq pizza was fantastic! Friendly service…read more(order at the bar then either sit there or go find a table). They have a variety of games, like Yahtzee, Jenga, Shut the Box, etc that you can play at your table for free. On the weekend, the kitchen has a more limited late night menu. Still a good selection of appetizers and pizza as well as all the beers. Definitely will be back!

I've eaten plenty of Detroit style pizza in Detroit, so I was excited to see how Backlot Taphouse…read morecompared. I can confidently say this is one of the better examples of the style I've had in Omaha. I ordered the Taphouse pizza with grilled chicken, bacon, green onion, and beer cheese sauce. The crust was the highlight. It was thick, airy, and focaccia like on the inside while still getting that crispy, caramelized cheese edge that makes Detroit style pizza special. The toppings worked really well together, and the pizza had a great balance without feeling overly heavy. The one thing that surprised me was just how massive the pizza is. The squares are deceptively filling, and what looks like a reasonable portion quickly turns into a challenge. I could only finish about half of my pizza and happily took the rest home for leftovers. Beyond the pizza, Backlot has a great atmosphere with a nice beer selection and a laid back taproom feel. If you're looking for Detroit style pizza in Omaha, this is definitely a place worth checking out.
