    Chicken Shawerma Dinner
    Mirella K.

Truly don't know how this place gets any less than 4 stars max. It gets a 5/5 for me! I've been here maybe 6-7 times by now and every single entree and experience here has been great. They have an outdoor seating area which is secluded and cute, plus seating inside and free glasses of water. They have a BYO salad bar as well if nothing on the menu calls to you (how can it not though?). I without a doubt get the chicken shawarma dinner every time. They are so awesome they let me customize it every time. I typically replace the rice with tabouli salad for a less carb-y meal, however their rice/lentils are DELICIOUS. Their hummus is creamy and fresh, and I love their garlic sauce and spicy sauce so much I wish they came in a slightly bigger container. The falafel SMACKS too, I'm dying to try more of their things but for some reason I'm a huge chicken shawarma girly and always opt in for that. They are not shy with the portion size, I don't think I've ever finished my meal in one sitting (this is a great thing). Reasonably priced, too. Their staff is accommodating and nice as well. I highly recommend this place and will definitely continue going here!

Stopped by for a quick dinner at the Logan Square location! Great spot if you're looking for quick counter- service Middle eastern food! We grabbed the lamb shawarma sandwich and shared the curry basmati rice. I should've gotten a side of sauce for the pita sandwich cause it was a little dry.

I did an online order for pickup. I arrived before the promised time and had to wait a little bit for my order to be ready. Since all the food is pretty much made it was done in just a few minutes. We ordered two Chicken Shawarma Dinners and one Chicken Shawarma sandwich. Pricing was more than fair, and you get a lot of food. The dinners came with curry rice, hummus, pita bread, tabuli, a hot sauce and garlic sauce. Everything tasted fresh and overall a very filling dish. The chicken shawarma was seasoned perfectly and the rice was very flavorful. I will definitely be returning. Might have to make Sultans my go to whenever I'm craving chicken shawarma.

I ordered the Meat Combo - kefta kabob, lamb & chicken #shawerma with curry rice, tabuli, hummus, and garlic & tahini sauces Meats were flavorful but dry. Curry rice was cooked right. Sauces were tasty. Pita was soft and not dry. Tabuli was fresh. Employees were very nice.

Love the vibe of this new location! The OG Sultan's location by Damen (Blue Line) Wicker Park has been a known go-to for affordable and good Mediterranean. Think hummus and a chicken shawarma pita and a little baklava for dessert. This new Logan Square storefront by California (Blue Line) expands that, and I'm impressed this family run place keeps going. (read their family story on their website--the owner couldn't afford a restaurant herself until she was 18!) They told me that this new spot has been open for six months during COVID. Congrats to them for launching during the pandemic. Currently (March 2021 - they had togo and some limited, spaced-out indoor seating. Staff were wearing masks). The design is great. Less of the crowded convenience store and a little more atmosphere, with blue tile, copper lanterns, and smoked-filled art. Love it. This place is still more quick-bite, but I could see it also being a casual date place if you BYO. A new outdoor patio looks like it will double the size of the space, and the way it runs along the indoor seating, I think I definitely want to be back for summer.

Delicious and good vibes on the massive patio. Fast and affordable. A go to spot for a quick lunch

I'm not sure if it's just this location but the food was so so. We got the lamb shawarma for lunch and both thought the lamb was super dry. It's normally not dry like this at the other location so we were disappointed. The hummus was really good though, it was so smooth and flavorful. We also enjoyed the lentil soup. The prices are good too! The patio at this location is seriously a hidden GEM. Walking by you wouldn't think there is a spacious, lush rooftop patio, but there is! There is plenty of seating too. I'm hoping we just got a bad batch of lamb that day because I can definitely see myself grabbing lunch/dinner on the patio come spring/summer time.

Food is great. Lots of dessert options. The patio though is AMAZING. Lots of beautiful decor, lighting, and seating. Parking is easy around here and this is such a gem of a place to spend the afternoon!

Sultans Market never disappoints. Last night we ordered a takeout feast. The staff is super friendly which we value, and they have tons of vegan options. I got the vegetarian combo plate which comes with falafel (I think the best in the city), hummus, tabuleh salad and rice. All delicious. Kids got lamb schwarma and meat combo. I love that they love it and it actually fills them up (teens). We had a snafu with husbands order and they didn't include his falafel sandwich but the restaurant had amazing customer service recovery and brought it over to our house even though we did pickup for the initial order. Highly recommend

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. Highly recommended for a refined yet relaxed Chicago dining experience.

I highly recommend getting the crispy potatoes as well! I have never tried shakshouka with meat in it before and didn't love the texture. However, the flavor was sweet and savory! The only thing that was not ideal was that an optional surcharge was on the receipt, when we tried to get our server to help remove it per instructions on the receipt no one was to be found. That was disappointing and potentially strategic? I would have rather just tipped. I'm not sure how others feel about the surcharge?

Part of me wishes that we got the chance to sit down inside, but maybe that will be the excuse to come visit another time. The Blueberry Clafoutis was my favorite dish. The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. PREVIOUS REVIEW Very popular place and hence rather hard to get in. But the wait for once is worth it. The menu items, which come in small portions (tapas size), are very special and not to be found anywhere else. As surprising as some of the items may sound, they all looked great (even the once on other people's plates), and the ones I could get to taste were very special, interesting flavors, and very good. No specific recommendations but would suggest to leave some space for lemon panna cotta. Casual and trendy atmosphere on the Magnificent Mile. Definitely will go back again when in Chicago.

I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

Nothing really went together and it was warm, which didn't make sense and made it worse. The steak was cooked how I asked, but the sauce was extremely oily and had this strange burnt flavor which likely was from the onions? The onions were extremely burnt, nothing like a typical caramelized delish onion. The chicken had the same issue, everything had that same burnt tasting oil and the chilies sitting in it just made it more intense. It was honestly just edible and nothing I would come back for or recommend. I love middle eastern food and know that even with a midwestern there are some considerations to take with the flavor profile but the burnt onions, burnt spicy oil in the chicken, and a warm salad are all indications for poor execution. As for the actual ambiance and experience it was my birthday and there was no acknowledgment at all not even someone to check in on whether the food was okay. I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable. Overall it just was not worth it. I would not return or recommend this spot.
