If you care at all about your eyebrows, don't go to here. I came for tinting, shaping and lamination and ended up getting scalped. I told the service provider before hand that my skin is sensitive, I take a retinol and my brows were just bleached (just so she knows my history and can do what's best for me). She said "ok" and started. An hour and 20 minutes later she hands me a mirror and I'm in utter disbelief. It looked like she drew on 2 large rectangles. When I looked closer, I realized she put so much tint on so that she could conceal that she chemically burnt my brows off. The staff gaslighted me and said that my brows looked good. It wasn't until I started wiping the tint off to show them there was nothing but skin underneath that they admitted we had an issue. I had to get my lash extensions removed by another salon because I was experiencing pain along my lash line, especially when I closed my eyes hard and I did not want to go back to Sumi Eyelash. Turns out, the pain was caused by Sumi Eyelash gluing extensions to multiple natural lashes at once. All of your individual lashes has it's own growth cycle and growth rate and when you bond them with glue, it's going to damage the follicles. This is the biggest no-no for lash extensions since it can cause PERMANENT DAMAGE. I had the weirdest lash extensions left after 4 weeks. Some were glued to the middle of another extension. My goodness - how is this place allowed to be in business. I've never seen anything like this. Do all their technicians have licenses? Let me be frank- the lashes look great. Here's my thing, they glue three to four lashes together to stick to one eyelash. It's very uncomfortable. I've had the lashes for about three days, and there's been a lot of fall out- of three or more lashes stuck together. Furthermore, they glue to lashes so close to the eyelid it's quite uncomfortable. I guess you get what you pay for- I'll be going back when I need them removed most likely, or maybe somewhere else. UPDATE: not only is the customer service awful-But I had to get the lashes removed. The lady at a different salon let me know, that they glued all the lashes together which was causing my real lashes to thin and fall out. I purposely waited a week to review. I got the 130 lashes, 14-15 in length, thick, c curl. I don't remember my girls name but she was sweet and took her time, and I listened to music the whole time, and even answered a phone call. I really hope I remember her face for the next time. The first couple of days, my eyes watered a lot and got a Lil crusty and I was so worried I was getting an infection but it stopped after a couple days and they've been okay. I thought I would lose some by trying to comb the cruelties out of them. I've lost a lot since then but they still look pretty good to me. I actually think the sparser they are, the more natural they are (so I probably will get the blend instead of the thick next time. The morning after getting them done, I lost two. But that was my fault because I forgot I had them and went to put face coconut oil on as usual. I remembered quickly but I lost two. I lost another that day normally. Two days later, I woke up to a bunch on my pillow. They just started dropping like flies after that but this is why I chose the 130 lashes because I figured I'd have some to spare. Overall, it's been a week. I got my hair done, took a 4 day trip to Puerto Rico where I ziplined, rode ATV's, jet skied (in which I fell in the water), been home, been back at work, have forgotten to comb them everyday , and they still look decent. I was really trying to like this location for my eyelash extension because my best friend comes to this location and speaks highly of it but it wasn't the case for me. This was my first time place eyelash extensions and the service was okay but the lashes was horrible. I came in at a good time to get my lashes don't by a particular person apparently she left on break. So when i settled for another lash technician she did my lashes way quicker than they said is was going to take in placing a new set. After a third visit to Sumi eyelash I can finally come up with a 3rd and final review. As previously noted I had issues here with my eyelash extensions. It appears that the issues I had were with the thinner lashes. The thinner lashes fall out very quickly and bend in different directions. I was very disappointed with the thinner lashes. I came here again on my 3rd visit and it was suggested to get a mixed blend of thin and thick lashes. It looks like I have more of the thicker lashes if anything which gives more of the mascara look and they are much more stable. Thus far it has been 8 days and I have not had lashes shed and they are still in perfect condition unlike the last time. I have a lot of experience with false lashes including strips, clusters and individual lashes and I can see that these lashes are going to last a good amount of time and I am very happy. The bottom line is if your going to do anything your better off getting a mixed blend with more of the thicker lashes. The thinner ones have a natural feather look but they are so light that they wont stick. Purchasing a certain lash count is also not going to guarantee how many lashes you will get because it depends on the shape of your eyes and how many lashes your real lashes can hold. I would give more stars but they should really set up reception away from customers. Business-wise it would be smart if customer waiting on service do not hear all the complaints. Technicians are nice and gentle, but I highly recommend getting more thicker lashes since their glue is not as strong. But of course they wouldn't budge so I had to schlep there again, sit through another hour long process and pay the price plus tip. Came to Sumi after snagging a good deal on Groupon. Upon entry, there are about 15 beds lined up next to each other where you would get your eyelash extensions done. It felt a little crowded but the employees are very professional and it's pretty quiet in there. Once you check in, they walk you through the different types of eyelashes and they give you a liability form to fill out. Once you lay down they offer you a blanket for your little "eyelash nap". However, I noticed one girl took the word "nap" too seriously and was snoring super loud, haha. I hope her eyelashes came out great, though. I chose to do the 110 piece lashes, gorgeous style, size 11 and 12mm (It was my second time ever doing my eyelashes so I was still testing the waters) which only lasted about 45 minutes. The lady I had was a sweetheart and seemed like she knew what she was doing but unfortunately my lashes already started falling off the next day. Within a week or so, my lashes did not look full and I couldn't wait to get them done again. They literally fell out a couple times a day without me really touching them. This review will be based on not only my experience but my sister's as well. It will be long, so grab a snack guys! To start off, like many, my sister and I came here after purchasing a groupon. However it was the second groupon my sister had purchased for this place. Based on groupon policies and also Sumi's policy of only honoring a groupon once, my sister called the place to book two appointments: one for me and one for her. At that time, she imformed whoever picked up that she did purchase another groupon and asked if they'd allow it one more time. The lady said yes. (We will come back to this point shortly). Upon arriving, the owner was very welcoming. You are given a waiver to fill out while choosing which style of eyelash you want, etc. As I was filling the form, my sister tells the owner that she's been here before and that she spoke to someone on the phone who said it would be okay to come one more time with a groupon. This owner, at first was very understanding. She explained that she usually doesn't honor it more than once but she'll do it this one time for my sister. Very kind of her, yes, until she turns around to a lady on a laptop and tells her that my sister was here very recently (3 months) and to check the database for her name. Again, that's fine but my sister told her she came more than 6 months ago. However, this lady insisted that my sister came exactly 3 months ago. Anyways, they couldn't find her name going 3 months back, so what does that tell you... At this point, a technician came by, ready to do my lashes so I had to leave the front desk. It did not stop there though. As I got my eyelashes done I could hear the owner and my sister going at it (I guess the owner was refusing service to my sister). She proceeded to bring me into it and told the same lady to check if I'd been here too... because apparently she remembers me coming in with my sister but this was my first time here... The most interesting part of this story? The owner denied that none of her staff would ever tell someone who bought a second groupon that they could come in again for the same price. Yet what was the lady behind her doing? Booking an appointment on the phone for someone who had also bought a second groupon. My sister pointed that out and the owner whispered to her that the other lady was new.. Yet she didn't stop her from booking the appointment... what this establishment is doing is telling people they can come in with their groupon (if you buy it more than one) and then denying them once they show up. The actual lashes came out very nice. My groupon was for the 110 lashes and although it didn't look like the full set, I was very satisfied with them. The technician told me not to wet them, use oil based products around them for 24 hours. I did exactly that and actually continued to do so for about 10 days after that. I gently cleaned my eyes and lashes with a towellete and it was fine. However the one day I got water on my eyes while taking a shower, my eyes were burning! I wish I had taken a picture to show it, but my eyes had never been that red. And for every time after that, anytime I got water anywhere near my eye, it would sting. I'm sorry but I can't return to a place that causes that much inflammation around such a sensitive part of my face and I highly recommend anyone trying to come here to consider that. Based on the actual results of the lashes I would have given this place 3 stars even with how the owner was running her business but wanting to protect my eyes from whatever product they are using, I will not be returning. I have been coming to sumi eyelash for 2 years. So, it's surprising that I'd write a 2 star review, right? When I first started coming here, the place was AWESOME. 5 stars+. However, the last few refills I have gone for the place has been HORRIFIC. 1. They are impossible to make an appointment with if you haven't made one in person during your previous appointment. They never answer the phone, and when they do they put you on hold for 10-15 minutes before assisting you. Then, it takes me so long to finally get an appointment made that my 2-week refill ends up being a 3-week and they have to charge me more. 2. They charge extra for credit card, and no tax for cash. They tell every guest when they leave to "bring cash next time and they won't charge any tax". HELLOOOOO IRS. this is illegal and also unfair. If I don't have cash on me that day, I get slammed with an extra $10 tax but the girl behind me didn't because she had cash? not cool, sumi. 3. The technicians expertise and professionalism varies DRASTICALLY. I have had a few amazing techs here, don't get me wrong. But I have also had a few that pulled at the skin on my eye lid and pinched me with whatever tool they use for lash removal so hard that I've had to ask them to stop. I spend half my visit with them flinching in pain now-a-days. 4. The rewards card. Awesome concept right? You get 10 refills and get a discount on the 11th? They offer to hold your card for you if you'd like so that you don't lose it, and then THEY LOSE IT. Irony, I swear. They've lost my card 4 times now. Luckily, they offer two different curl options, many sizes (up to 15 I believe), blending and darker shades for the hair, and various styles like cateye or dolleyed. I may have bad anxiety but the receptionist this evening shorted me $10. My service was $47 I gave her a $100 only to get $43 back before she gave it to me she counted it n then gave it to me I counted and tell her I'm short. She says it $47 so why did I get $43 back, and when I brought it to my lash techs attention NOW the receptionist gives me the money. No apology no nothing. If you make a mistake own it because it looks like you tried to steal from me. WHERE IS THE OLD RECEPTIONIST. She was better and she actually kept clients up to date with their percentages off etc. I have referred Sooooo many people to Sumi this issue has never happened but due to no apology for her own mistake that not nice nor is it cool. I would have gladly accepted her apology but maybe she is not WOMAN ENOUGH to do so yes it's only $10 but $10 could have been more don't try to over charge me because I have anxiety that's even worse. read more

PRICING- TOTAL Bait and Switch I brought the Groupon for 110 lashes for 45 bucks, $47 including tax. They give you a consultation. I got a C curl and paid 5 more bucks for "thickness". Then I get to the register and she says I owe her 15 total because of tax. I'm like why? I paid tax on Groupon. She said $10 is their mandatory tax they charge everyone. Where in New York state would tax be $10 on $47??? Total Rip off $47 on Groupon $10 tax in the store $5 for thickness $13 for tip $75 Where's the Deal? LONGEVITY- It is the 3rd day, 10 lashes have fallen out. The corners are twisted. The lashes hang DOWN instead of UP like I've seen. I will stick to BLING lash. CLEANLINESS- They were clean and organized but I don't like the beds. They looked like sheets that weren't that fresh. I've been to one place where they change the tissue paper like a doctor's office. Less chance of bed bugs, etc. CUSTOMER SERVICE- I got there at 7pm for my appt. Wasn't seen until 745pm! She wasn't done until 915 pm!!! They were sweet, but I will not be returning here. read more
