Bright and airy; the glass ceiling allows so much natural light to filter through adding to the atmosphere. The exceptional service that Matt provided truly elevated my dining experience. He provided so much knowledge of the menu and recommended certain items to enhance the meal. He also suggested items to try on a next visit. There will definitely be a next visit. Fancy, picture perfect mocktails just might fool an onlooker. The drinks were fresh, fruity a little spicy and alcohol free. Please grab the jalapeño cornbread. It's the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with corn kernels and sliced peppers topped with a finishing salt. Just perfect. The deviled eggs were so tasty that I just know someone's Big Momma is in that kitchen! Next visit I'm looking for her. My wagyu steak taco platter was outstanding. Usually, there is some part of a platter I don't care for. Not this time. I can tell the tender meat was marinated as there was flavor coming through each bite. The sautéed peppers and onions added even more flavor. Served with warm, rolled corn tortillas, sour cream, cheese and guacamole to top it off. In the center was perfectly cooked cilantro rice and creamy black beans. Couldn't eat it all, but it made a nice lunch for the next day. I suggest you do NOT leave the restaurant without stopping by the Cookie Bar for a sweet treat. I grabbed cookies; cherry pie, s'more's, lemon and the viral tequila sunrise which you much be twenty-one to purchase. Everything was amazing at Summer House. Next time I think I want to try their burger, Matt said it's good!

I love this place, and I don't repeat restaurants a ton in Chicago since there are so many but this is a place I've returned to several times. The restaurant is so cute inside and it has a fun little cookie/bakery stand in the foyer when you walk in. this was my first time here for brunch instead of dinner. The menu is a great size for brunch with breakfast options that have a lot of Mexican influence, as well as a good portion of sandwiches, salads, pizza, for the more lunchy aspects. All our food was amazing. Service was a bit on the slow side but I feel like that's to be expected at really busy restaurants- the food and drink just take a bit longer to come out but I promise it's worth the wait

Despite the food being really good, 2/4 in my party got food poisoning from undercooked salmon. Other than that, food, service and the ambiance were amazing. I highly recommend the rigatoni alla vodka with the meatball and the Costa Mesa salad. Will be back to try the HH menu

This place was #1 on my open table app and I am so glad we came here!!! First of all, get a table on the middle because the skylight is beautiful! The color decor is beautiful!!! We had the guacamole and crab roll . . We shared the crab roll and at first I thought it was too small and we would need to order more but with the sweet potato fries, it was perfect! Highly recommend the sweet potato fries and the guacamole!!! You need to save room for the cookie. . We tried snickerdoodle, sea salt chocolate chip and peanut butter and the peanut butter was my favorite! Add ice cream and it's perfect!!!!

We had a lovely brunch at summer house! The restaurant itself looks like a large greenhouse in the center, lots of natural lighting and earthy light decor. Our waitress was kind and enthusiastic! I ordered the vegetable hash which was tasty, beets were a bit unexpected but good, portion size was just enough. Friends ordered the breakfast burrito with sweet potato fries and the roasted tomatoes poach eggs special (ordered toast later because the portion was small). Waitress brought us a few dips to go with the sweet potatoes fries and the truffle aioli was very good.

we were able to snag a happy hour table by the bar on this tuesday evening. the happy hour deals were okay- we each got a drink and then we got the tavern style pizza and the truffle fries. the drinks were good. the pizza was just okay- it definitely wasn't the best pizza i've had. the fries were good too. the service was okay, at a couple points it was hard to get our server but towards the end, she was more attentive. this place is definitely very popular on an evening during happy hour. it's very well decorated and definitely has the california vibe to it, which makes sense. the drinks were good and the food was alright. i don't think id come back but i'm glad i got to experience this happy hour since i know this place is quite popular.

this place we stumbled upon on fourth of july with a bigger group because they had last minute reservations online. we were very happy with the accommodation. this place was so cute on the inside & our server was great. he was bubbly & funny & jsut overall a great server. wish i remembered his name. the food was a hit or miss. fish & chips- no good but the pizza & the pasta... yummm ! drinks were also very delish!

We visited Summer House for brunch on one of those rare, summery April days that feels almost too good to be true. The sunlight streaming through the roof set a beautiful tone, and the ambiance inside was warm and inviting. Exactly what a leisurely brunch calls for. We kicked things off with espresso martinis and mimosas, followed by cornbread and chips with guacamole. A solid start that had us settled in and happy. For mains, I opted for the spicy kale salad and the short rib hash. Both dishes were spot on: well-executed and full of flavor. The service matched the energy of the meal: prompt without feeling rushed. All in all, a brunch experience well worth repeating.

Nice atmosphere and service. Dishes were ok. The drink was amazing. Would love to go here for brunch as I've heard great things about that. The seafood underwhelmed me for how prominent it was on the menu.

Tried this place for the first time when I was in Chicago for St. Patrick's day, and I couldn't recommend it more. We were there on a busy Friday night, and easily had the best seat in the house. We started with espresso martinis and moved on to spritz for the second round. Incredible espresso martini!!! The Parmesan fries were a 10/10 girl dinner snack. I don't love deviled eggs but these ones were SO good? Absolutely amazing. I split the vodka pasta (which they split for me and my partner!) and a burrata pizza. We FEASTED. Had such a great experience for our entire meal and then we collected a few cookies on our way out. So delicious, will definitely be back.

Was packed for a Friday night, so make sure you make a reservation! I went with my friend, and we had such a lovely time. The staff was attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. We started off with the Parmesan truffle fries and crispy Brussels sprouts, which had us hooked right off the bat. We then moved on to the shaved truffle pizza and spicy kale salad, which they split into two portions for us since we were sharing. The ambiance was great as well, and the interior design was so cute.

We decided to go out for dinner last minute on Valentines Day. We had no reservations anywhere but knew Summer House would be our best option because their space is gigantic with seating everywhere. Plus it has a delicious menu. We instantly found a spot to sit at by the bar. We shared the Spicy Kale Caesar and Prime Cheeseburger. We hadn't stopped talking about the Spicy Kale Caesar since the first time we ordered it a few months ago because it was delicious. This time was no different, best salad I've ever had. The Prime Cheeseburger came on a crispy brioche and was cooked perfectly. Our food came out already portioned to be shared so we didn't need to ask for extra plates. Although it was busy, our food came out very quickly. Our server was very attentive even though it was very busy and he was also bartending. Summer House never dissapoints!

They also have a patio, and with the weather being nice, it was easy to just sit outside and relax for a while. I was honestly too hungry to spend much time deciding, so I just ordered one of the sourdough donut ball. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The outside had a light coating of sugar that gave it just the right amount of sweetness without being too much. Once I bit into it, the inside was soft, airy, and slightly chewy from the sourdough, which made it different from a regular donut. There was a subtle tang from the sourdough that balanced the sweetness really well, so it never felt overly sugary. It had a light crispness on the outside, then a warm, pillowy center that practically melted away with each bite. I finished it way faster than I expected. The only thing I forgot was ordering something to drink with it. Looking back, a good coffee would've made it even better. Still, I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the area.

Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
