My husband brought me here during our visit to Chicago, and overall it was a great experience. I'm giving 4 stars mainly due to the service. The hostess greeted us right away and got us seated quickly. The ambiance was really cool and lively for dinner time, but not overly crowded or overwhelming. It did take about 20 minutes for our server to come to the table, and unfortunately, they weren't very helpful or knowledgeable about the menu. We ended up ordering what sounded good on our own. After placing our order, we realized the appetizers were supposed to be half off during happy hour. We had to ask another server to find ours, and about 10 minutes later they confirmed we would receive the discounted pricing. That said, the food was amazing. We mostly ordered appetizers, and everything was delicious. My husband also ordered a burger with fries, and that was really good as well. Overall, I loved the food and the atmosphere. The service could have been better, but I'd definitely return and give it another try!
Stopped by for a morning beverage and bite. Got the chai latte, smores cookie, and apple cookie. Two of the best cookies I've ever had - they're huge, fresh, and are full of mixins. The chai latte was delightful as well. I stayed to read and the environment was very welcoming. I would absolutely go back to enjoy a full meal or more treats from the bakery case.
I've been to Beatrix multiple times for brunch and dinner once. The food always hits, it's delicious. Recently my friends threw me a mini bachelorette and the dinner was at Beatrix. I wasn't sure what to expect because I usually have come here for brunch but dinner was so fun! The restaurant was still packed and had a lively atmosphere. I would still rec this place for brunch over dinner but still a solid choice!
This dining experience was beautiful and perfect for a quant family birthday dinner. Inside was warm with dim lighting. Service was very nice and accommodating. The cocktails were cute and colorful. I ordered the parmesan whitefish. The food was delicious. We all tried each other's meal and each dish was cooked perfectly. Nothing dry or overcooked. Everything moist and nicely seasoned. Loved the presentation of each plate and the abundance of veggies. Next time I have to get the salmon dish because that flavor was fantastic to my palate.
Needing a very short notice reservation in the west loop, I had very few options. Almost everything was booked. Beatrix had room for us though, so Beatrix it was. I expected to give it a 3-star review because I'm generally not a huge fan of lettuce entertain you restaurants. But surprisingly, we all really liked our food. I also liked the price points. At roughly $30/person, it seemed more appropriately priced for my kids compared to other options in the west loop. We started with the hot honey Brussels sprouts and the jalapeño cornbread and both were great choices. I ordered the salmon which had a honey mustard glaze and sat on farro and sweet potatoes. It was really good. We ended it by sharing the caramel pie. I loved the depth of the caramel. Everyone at the table loved their food as much as I did. My daughter got an iced honey lavender latte to go. It was 7° outside. She's insane. But I took a sip and it was something I'd order on a warmer day. Shoutout to valet for turning on our seat warmers and even the steering wheel warmer before returning our car. Thank you for that
I've been here a few times and the food is consistently good. I've done both brunch and lunch. Their pastries are amazing and after 8pm, they only cost $2. My latest visit was for restaurant week. I really wanted to try their caramel pie (spoiler: it was heavenly and I will be ordering it again and again). We had the chicken meatballs, jalapeño cornbread, prime cheeseburger, ginger chicken crunch salad, oh my caramel pie, and tall dark and handsome cake. All the food was a 10 out of 10. My only disappointment is that the ginger chicken crunch salad only mentioned having a citrus sesame dressing but the whole dish had sesame seeds all throughout it. The chicken was also cooked with sesame. Sesame is a common allergy so it should have been more clear how the dish was made and that you can't remove the sesame. So I was unable to eat that dish. Our waitress was really kind and gave us some pastries on the house for the inconvenience. Parking is non-existent. Uber or walk to this location.
Came here for their happy hour and enjoyed an app and a couple of drinks. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Perfect location to chill and people watching in Fulton market. We wanted their chocolate angel fruit cake in the bakery but they ran out. That's sooooo delicious and among their other treats. I guess this will give me another reason to return to Beatrix soon.
We came here for a group dinner. Because of the reservation system we had to book two tables. They were very kind to seat our whole group at two tables next to each other. The appetizers were delicious. And food was incredible. We ended up getting the steak and the fried chicken. Our server was pleasant and did her best to accommodate our big group of 10. The vibe of the place is very hip and chill but also upscale. The surrounding neighborhood was lively and fun! We stayed for a night cap as well. This was a fabulous place!
Go-to happy hour & late cafe spot. Restaurant is separated into two parts--dine in & cafe. Both sides are spacious. The food is pretty average but they have a good happy hour menu. Cocktails are decent (especially in the summer). Where they shine is the cafe! Coffee & treats are always delectable. One true negative is that they went up on prices twice within a year or two. Recession indicator, I fear. The service is also another plus for them. Super chill, nice, & laidback staff. Overall 7.5/10

Everything came out with allergy labels and everything was delicious! The decor was earthy, with the plants and warm colors. It felt cozy and relaxing, and I really enjoyed it. If I'm ever back in the city, I will definitely be back.
Hard pass on takeout at this location. I didn't order my usual Enlightened Caesar for pickup this time--instead, I tried the A Salad and still asked for the salmon medium. What I got was a wilted pile of arugula, salmon cooked to the point of petrification, and a $40 lesson in disappointment. Not even a napkin or plasticware in the bag. This location has gone way downhill--easily the worst in the city. Dining in isn't terrible, but ordering to-go was a mistake I won't make again. Save your money and skip this dump.
I ordered a bounty of pastries and cookies to-go. I asked the employee for suggestions. I received GREAT ones! What a treat!!! Included in my selection was an Angel Muffin Vanilla, Honey Butter Cinnamon Roll, Sadies Crunch Cake, Banana Bread and a Lemon Burst Cookie. I have to first write that each item is extremely generous in size! The Angel Muffin Vanilla was incredible! The texture was light, airy and tender. It was like cotton candy without the stickiness. The vanilla flavor shined through. The Lemon Burst cookie had beautiful notes of a fresh lemon. It is a lemon lover's dream. The Banana Bread did not have nuts. It only had a moist banana flavor. Beatrix allowed the true banana flavor. Sadies Crunch Cake was filled with layers of cinnamon and crunchy pecans. My favorite by far was the Honey Butter Cinnamon Roll! The aroma of tantalizing cinnamon was so tempting that I forgot to snap a photo! This Cinnamon Roll has got to be the absolute best cinnamon roll I have ever tasted! Not only was the cinnamon a delight, but the roll itself was tender and moist. The frosting was an added bonus. It was the perfect bite. Beatrix is the place to enjoy pastries and more! The ambiance is relaxing and upbeat.

I came here for lunch while I was at design days. I was surprised that we were able to get seated pretty quickly despite it being super packed and no reservation. We sat outside and it did take a bit longer for us to order and get the check but that was understandable. I got the dragonfruit juice which was good but there was much juice in the glass for $8. The chili and lime shrimp was really tasty as well but I finished all the shrimp and felt like I wanted more. Came here for brunch and my breakfast burrito was delicious. There was a line since it was a Sunday but I was able to get a coffee and pastry on the cafe side while I was waiting for my table. Both cafe and restaurant side have a beautiful ambiance. read more

Everything was delicious. We were seated outside, and there was a lot of bees flying around our table. That was the only thing that was distracting and a "complaint" but it's outside of the businesses hands. Service was great would recommend ! read more
This was my first visit to Beatrix - Fulton Market. I have been to the others. The Fulton market location is was a bit confusing as to know which side is the market vs the bakery/cafe/bar vs restaurant. My daughter and I came on a Wednesday during the week. It took a few minutes to order as the workers behind the bar were preoccupied with other things. When we finally ordered, we got the s'mores and monster cookies, the lemon glazed angel muffin, a strawberry milk and the Dubai chocolate matcha. It took some time as well to get out order. The bakery items were great as well as the strawberry milk. However my Dubai chocolate matcha tasted like banana milk and was very off putting. I had requested oat milk. We were well on the way to our car as we were nearing an expired meter - otherwise would have turned around to bring the drink to the attention of the staff. Overall everything was fine, but slow and the issue with my drink. I would not get the extra crafted drinks again in the future. read more

Nice downtown food option in the Fulton market area. We ordered GF hot honey chicken sandwich which includes kennebec fries. The sandwich was delicious and did not taste gluten free. Was very excited to try the banana bread cold brew, but I was not a fan! I don't think it tasted like banana bread at all, just strong coffee. The Apple Oatmeal cookie was soft and gooey. Delicious flavors, but you couldn't pick it up without it crumbling apart. Nice space with places to sit both indoors and out. read more

i came back here for dinner again and was pretty pleasantly surprised. we got a couple drinks, the mushroom teriyaki bowl, the whitefish, and the beef kebabs. all were pretty delicious. my mushroom teriyaki bowl had a super yummy citrus-y ginger sauce that was finger licking good. my only complaint is that for what it was- which was pretty much just a big bowl of white rice with saucy sautéed mushrooms on top- it was pricey at $21.95. our server was super friendly and attentive as well. the ambiance of this restaurant is always nice- it's a great spot for dinner and drinks on a weeknight. we also made sure to take advantage of the $2 discounted pastries after 8pm and got a few each. read more

Came here for a special occasion and ordered almost all vegetarian items in the menu. This place is cozy and cute. They're also kids friendly. The waitress was really polite and kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert. Coming to the food, the star dish was buffalo cauliflower which was outstanding. I had brussel sprouts for the first time in a restaurant and to my surprise it tasted amazing. Their whipped feta was decent. Their veg tacos were underwhelming and the burger was dry. My friend made reservations for brunch while in town for a concert. I had never been to Beatrix before, but I will definitely return. I really enjoyed my mango gin and tonic and banana nut latte. For breakfast I had the shakshuka, and it was really delicious! I was even surprised by a complimentary chocolate cake to celebrate my birthday. Everything was wonderful! read more

The ambiance of Beatrix is nice as always. It's a nice modern vibe and is always lively with lots of conversation and nice music playing. Service was relatively quick for how busy the restaurant was. The food itself is decent, but not the best for how much it costs. I think it could be better. Personally, I think Beatrix is best for breakfast/brunch as their menu is more unique and everything seems to taste better. read more

Beatrix Fulton is one of my faves and perhaps the one restaurant that I visit most often in Chicago, given its proximity to where I live. In the heart of Fulton Market, no matter what time of the day, there is something for everyone be it coffee, pastries, cocktails, breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also do a weekday happy hour. I write this review sitting outside on one of their benches while sipping a lavender latte on a beautiful Friday afternoon. I have been coming to this location for over 6 years now and two things haven't changed - quality and service. I don't know how they do it since even with employee turnover, all their staff is super nice, friendly and accommodating. Off late, I am bringing my toddler kids here since they love the banana bread here and I'll get coffee. We also came here for father son's date night and our server was so accommodating. They have a great kid menu and kid meals come with their freshly squeezed juice. read more
Quick and friendly service, but average food. The hash browns were good, but the rest was pretty middling. The chicken was dry, and the sauce was incredibly sticky and didn't add any flavor. Overall a rather underwhelming sandwich and experience. At the table, we also ordered the waffles and they were ice cold. read more

Is this restaurant baby friendly?
I noticed the waitstaff seating a family with a baby last time I visited. There was no problem and they seemed very accommodating. They had a carrier with them so I am not sure if the restaurant has highchairs. It is loud and bustling.
