Had the quarter moon - Autumn Moon milk cold brew and it was delicious! Definitely recommended!

I can't always say this about coffee, but this one HIT THE SPOT. I got the 007, and other than the satisfaction of ordering it "shaken, not stirred" it had the perfect blend of the strong coffee flavor from the 2 shots of espresso, with a light creaminess. The only regret I have is from gulping it down so fast instead of sipping it and making it last longer! Looks like I'll just have to go back. This new location is great! I've been to the original location on 1st several times, but it can be hard to find a seat/I find it kind of dark. This location is better lit and while the storefront is smaller, the layout is more open and I feel like there's more breathing room. Level of noise is good - not too quiet so you can't have a conversation but not too loud so you can get work done if you need to! For drinks, my go-to order is the half moon. Next time, I'll try the quarter moon -- if you have a sweet tooth, even a half moon may be plenty sweet! I like it both iced and hot. read more

I go here 1000000x and I'm not sure why I haven't wrote a review yet. I've been trying to look for a good iced coffee and boyyyyyyy have I found it. I keep coming back so I guess I caught feelings for summer moon. I tried out the moon menu with the moon milk that they use and I find that the "moon menu" is basically a dessert in a cup. I find that a good coffee on that moon menu is the half winter moon, if you're looking for "a pick me up" that's not too overly sweet or bitter. And we can't forget the mocha moon!! It's like a chocolate expresso and everything you can ask for :) This place is a bit pricey as it adds up but it's actually cheaper than Starbucks and it's way better quality ingredients!! The 16 oz is around 3-4$ that's cheaper than Starbucks if you order a grande (16 oz) and that already ranges to $4-5 for an iced coffee with some pumps of white mocha. 100/10 way to go, Summer Moon. read more

Summermmoon is probably one of my favorite coffee bars in Austin. They have fantastic coffee, a great line of drink options, and a wonderful atmosphere. Their staff is always super friendly and quick with drinks which is of course, always appreciated. It is no mystery while this place is always hopping. I do wish they had more room for seating, as there never seems to be ample seating for everyone. I've seen a lot of single people sitting in the middle of a big table spread out. Maybe instead of more bigger tables, some smaller tables would be a good idea? Anyways, four stars for solid coffee, great atmosphere, and great service. read more

Hit this place up on a recent Saturday afternoon, seems this is THE place to be, packed inside and outside, over 10 minute wait to order. As the "moonmilk" they tout is "sweetened" and has "secret ingredients" I'm out, not due to the secrets but due to the sweetened. Anyway, tried the Flying Cinder blend, smooth, great Central American notes as expected. Overall three stars because of the long wait, which seemed primarily due to only 1 register being open with way too many people in line, questionable priority to customer service here. read more

The half winter moon is the best tasting iced latte I've ever had. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and doesn't taste as milky as most lattes. Seriously what's in the moon milk? I guess if we knew the secret, we wouldn't be coming back for more! This may sound weird but it almost taste buttery to me. I've been back several times and always order the same thing since it's so good and consistently good every single time. I love coffee. Good coffee. Summer moon has good coffee. So I love summer moon. Their south location is on every list of good coffee shops in Austin. They wood roast their coffee, which is unique. Shows you they care about coffee beans properly roasted. Great to see them open a location up north. How can you know this is good coffee? get a cortado. It's the best coffee drink in terms of boldness and flavor. The cortado at summer moon is smooth, well balanced and delicious. If you're looking for EXCELLENT coffee, then this is the spot. Unfortunately they have spoiled me with such great coffee that I turn my nose at most others now. Besides all that, the baristas are awesome people. They are welcoming and gracious and I've already started to wonder what I should get them for Christmas... This place has awesome coffee and mediocre food, hence the lower rating. The real reason I had to bring this place down a bit is because of how loud and small the actual place is. If you have to do any kind of work, this place is as loud as a busy office...that has a barista grinding up coffee. Oh man, we need a Summermoon in Vegas. I have some friends, local to Austin, that raved about this place so we had to try it. Anytime anyone mentions that a business has a top secret, nectar of the gods, milky concoction as their base ingredient I have to try. In our 4 day trip, my boyfriend and I stopped by twice. First time we both had the full-moon Wintermoon (aka iced) latte. It was so creamy and sweet - I mentioned out loud that it tasted like a liquid coffee milkshake. Second time, I tried the half-moon Wintermoon (BF stayed with the full - he loves the sweet and contemplated getting just a cup of Moon milk straight up - which apparently they do sell). The half-moon was perrrrfect! Just the right amount for me, yet still tasting like a creamy afternoon treat. Next time I'm in Austin I will be back for more. I also bought two bags of beans and two mugs. One thing that bothered me was that they didn't have paper to wrap the mugs up and didn't act like that was an issue. Even if I were a local picking it up to take home (and not flying) I would expect an establishment to have wrapping paper to protect their adorable mugs. The cashier only suggested one of their paper bags when I asked if they had anything to put them in (which subsequently ripped in my friend's car). Luckily, both mugs made it home safe! read more

Decent location. Shared parking. The inside is absolutely unique and genius. Staff was nice. Menu was a little big for me, so it took a minute to understand and gather my thoughts as to what I wanted. After I chose, it was all gravy after that. Took a couple mins for my drink to be made. Starbucks might be one of the only major food chains that I'm crazy about, but when it comes to local businesses, I've got a soft spot. "Summermoon, makes me feel fine, blowing thru .." - OK, so I remember Seals & Crofts from the 70s. For years, I've bemoaned the lack of a decent coffee bar near the Domain, and now we have 3: Apanas, Nordstrom's E-Bar and Summermoon. I like all of them, but Summermoon is my favorite because: - Best selection of drinks - hot, cold, etc. a better selection than the other two - Excellent pastries - pumpkin muffins (YES) and banana chocolate chip muffins - there goes the old waistline - That comfy feeling that you've found the right place to hangout for doing a little bit of work on your social media account - Not actually in the Domain :-) I am Mr. Mocha, and I am pretty fond of what they have here. I split between the house moon milk (I saw one review say it is like condensed milk, but I'm thinking cinnamon and cloves) and ye regular milk, and they do just fine - not too little chocolate, plenty of coffee, quite tasty. My Lady of Latte's gives them a thumbs up on the latte, right amount of froth and good quality coffee. The place just has a nice rhythm and feel to it. The best coffee in town! My favorite is the mocha latte. I like coming here to do work. It can get a little noisy at times but usually have no issues grabbing a table. Parking is easy. Shared lot but always available parking. They also sell Tacodeli breakfast burritos! Tip: Come early for more options on the burritos. They sell out quick! read more

It's a cute place with an active vibe... but I just don't like the taste of the coffee. At all -- I've thrown away the majority of two of the drinks I've gotten there. It comes off to me as very acidic (light roast? the beans? I don't know). I've tried the mocha, latte, and drip ... and it's just all way too acidic for me. Same deal with a couple of the other newer cafes, so maybe it's the new flavor profile for the younger set. I just can't get into it. read more

So glad they opened a location up north! I usually go to the one downtown but would probably prefer this location. Doesn't feel like your standard, hipster Austin coffee shop. Granted it is located near The Domain, so it's a little bit more quaint. The atmosphere is what I usually look for in a coffee shop. It's quiet and spacious too. It's hard to find seating at the downtown location sometimes. Plenty of room if you want to get some work done. They have a few long community-like tables, as well as couches: perfect for reading, laptop work or whatever floats your boat! The baristas here are always nice and friendly. They also serve tacodeli for breakfast!! Summermoon and breakfast tacos, what more can one want? read more

W.O.W. Summermoon is probably my favorite coffee shop in ATX. I was so intrigued by their Moon Milk (Rich creamy sweetened milk made with their 7 secret ingredients), but was hesitant to order it since I'm lactose intolerant. The man who took my order kindly explained to me that they could make their Moon Milk using either almond, coconut or soy milk. I was hesitant on what to do. I wanted to try their Moon Milk in its full glory! I decided to order their Summermoon Latte (Latte made from their Moon Milk and espresso) and SO GLAD I DID. THEIR MOON MILK IS LIFE CHANGING and the best part is I didn't get sick from it! I don't even know where to begin to describe this dreamy Summermoon Latte. It was sweet, but not overly sweet and most importantly, it was not artificial tasting whatsoever. The latte was smooth and creamy and oh so perfect. Summermoon also looks like a great place to get work done. They have plenty of tables to choose from. Wish I lived in ATX so I could get Summermoon Lattes all the time! The parking is pretty good and the location is very convenient. The coffee options are quite good....IF YOU GET IT TO GO! I have been in here probably a dozen times and each time, their music selection is obnoxious, to put it mildly. First, the volume level of the music is always extremely LOUD. Second, the music selection sounds like very angry grunge metal rock: Screaming singers over the top of aggressive and wailing guitar riffs. A girl can hardly have a conversation not to mention hear herself think about what she might like to order. It is totally offensive to the ears!!! Add to the mix, a stampede of people during their coffee rush hours and the ambiance is totally loud and unenjoyable. Unless you are actually at a concert, or a honky tonk bar, music is supposed to 'season' an atmosphere--not become the atmosphere and certainly NOT OVERWHELM IT as at this Summer Moon!! If I were the owner of this place and I walked in and heard their music selection and the volume to which were subjecting my customers, it would be a firing offense because it would be negatively affecting my business!! Set the dial on a nice downtempo/chill/jazz station at a low enough volume to be AMBIENT and simply season your atmosphere--then, glue the volume knob in place so the youngsters slinging the coffee don't change it back to blaring grunge metal and crank it up. Let your amazing coffee and the people enjoying it be the atmosphere--NOT the blaring, angry, grunge rock!!! Pour mine in a paper cup and I'll take it on the road.....or, pop into a different cafe in the area for peace and calm to have a conversation I can actually hear..... read more

The coffee and baristas are wonderful here, just like at all the other locations. What makes this location stand out is that it's much nicer, newer, and hipper than the other ones. It's also more crowded, and it is often difficult to find a place to sit. read more

Came here this morning this location is always so busy it's in a great location next to Domain and chilantro is awesome! Plus they have breakfast tacos and even hand pies with different fillings, today I got a matcha moon iced with matcha powder and an iced wintermoon! It's made with 4 shots of espresso and moon milk! As for parking there is plenty of parking because it's in a center, and there is also outdoor seating too! They even sell merchandise for the super fan! Which I am and they have gender neutral bathrooms! It's very clean here and everyone is so nice and helpful if you have a question about anything.and they also have pastries as well all in all I really love summermoon and they are locally owned so it's great to support local businesses too. I love you summermoon!! The coffee is just what I needed today to good and strong and the Moon milk is sweet and delicious ! You gotta try summermoon! read more

I don't know what it is about this place. The coffee is good, but you can find good coffee around Austin. The atmosphere is nice, but nothing struck me as extraordinary. But the place was packed and busy the whole time I was there! There was always a line! It moved quickly and it seemed liked there was plenty of seating for everyone. It was just cool to hang out there. Lots of energy and buzz. I hope to make it back again. read more
