I LOVE SUMMER MOON! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet. Ever since a family member told me about this place about 8 years ago I've been obsessed. I always come back here. The coffee is just ridiculously good. The flavors are so good and incomparable to other coffee shops everything tastes so fresh and rich. The stores are always so cozy and inviting on the inside. Amazing vibes for studying or just taking a time to get away. A great third place. This place was super super cute! The drinks are great as always. I didn't take any pictures because I left kinda bummed but my boyfriend got a Java Chip Moon Glacier and I got a 1/4 wintermoon. The barista was kind and helpful. The reason I left bummed was because they don't use the reward system/ the app in San Antonio! I realize it's a franchise but almost all the summermoon's except the city of San Antonio uses the rewards/ app- how dumb is that?! Very disappointed in all the owners of the Summermoon franchise here in SA. Anytime I want Summermoon I'm just going to wait until I go to Austin at this point. read more

Came here with a friend recently and had a good experience. The inside was clean and had plenty of seats available. Thankfully we didn't have to wait long to place an order and the lady in front was very nice. She gave some recommendations and also confirmed a few things to make sure my friend didn't get sick (she has a glutten allergy). The coffees themselves were good. I had a matcha latte which was delicious and not overpowering at all. My friend had a regular coffee which she said she loved. I also did get a bean and cheese taco but I didn't really care for it. Seems they maybe pre-made the tacos or ordered them somewhere but wasn't a fan. Despite that, the drinks were good at least and if I happen to be in the area again I would consider coming back. read more

The atmosphere here is so warm and cozy! That's the first thing I noticed walking in. This is deff a place for a good coffee and a nice long talk with a friend. I noticed they have board games too near some seating areas. The cashier was super friendly and gave great recommendations. I tried a half sweet moon coffee. When I told him I planned to hit five coffee shops before lunch, he laughed and called me a "nut," then texted his granddaughter -- a fellow coffee fanatic. Her reply was instant: "Go to Summer Moon and get a Winter Moon Latte." Later, the owner at Jacob's Bear Coffee gave me the same recommendation. While savoring their smooth cortado, I ordered an Uber straight to Summer Moon in the Tobin Hill neighborhood. At the counter, I told the barista two different people had sent me their way. His proud smile said it all as he explained their beans are oak-roasted and their drinks made with a house-made sweet cream called Moon Milk. Naturally, I ordered both a cortado and a Half Winter Moon Latte. The cortado was solid, but that latte... wow. I rarely order iced lattes, yet this one was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Came to Summer Moon Coffee for the first time today. The drive thru line was pretty long which is always a good sign. Went inside to check it out and the atmosphere was like what you would expect a coffee shop to be. They had coffee grounds/beans, their house milk you can buy, and also shirts. They have pastries which we didn't try. The barista Maritza was very nice and helpful she offered to let us try their milk to see how sweet it is. They have multiple options. read more

I have been to Summer Moon Coffee numerous times now. I believe my favorite flavor of coffee is their summer moon (velvet blaze coffee with milk). They roast their own coffee, and each has a unique (rich yet smooth) flavor. They change the drinks to complement the season but have a consistent quality. The location that I frequent is usually very busy. With that said, I have always been able to find a seat in which to enjoy my coffee. Prices are similar if not slightly better than the international chain with the green mermaid. read more

We go every Sunday. Hands down the best coffee I've ever had - if you've never been, you NEED to try it at least once. You'll be hooked after. Their moon milk changes the entire texture and flavor profile. Their pastries are devine, especially the lemon poppyseed, blueberry, and banana nut! We like their muffins, too - super big and moist (we just prefer breads) Over Christmas they had these super cute water bottles. We have always gone too the Summer Moon on St. Mary's & have never had a bad experience. I do not recommend this location on Culebra Rd . We ordered one summer moon with Carmel & one winter moon iced americano. The summer moon was extremely bitter ( never experienced this at a summer moon in my life ) & the winter moon was served as a summer moon . We spent almost $14. 00 on some bitter coffee & a messed up order . I think they were using old coffee because we went to Valero & bought a cup of ice & poured my husbands coffee into the ice & his cup was lined with really black residue , his coffee was bitter too . HOLY SHIT THIS COFFEE IS BEYOND PHENOMENAL I'm a coffee fanatic and have worked in the coffee industry for almost 10 years so I've become quite picky on my brews. And this place? Oh my gosh. Literally could've died when I took my first sip. I got a 16 oz iced mocha moon with vanilla added and my friend got an dirty ice chai with horchata And both of them are BEYOND PHENOMENAL! The first sip was so smooth. Not overly sweet. The espresso wasn't burnt. And we didn't even wait 5 minutes for our drinks after ordering. The place is quaint and cozy. I love their coffee but haven't had their food options yet. The prices are a little higher than other coffee shops but they have their own milk recipes which is unique. The baristas are always so welcoming and helpful when I'm wanting to try something new. Their bathrooms are clean and seating options are great! The scones here are really good; but, you have to go early or they sell out of the good ones. They are more cake like than scone. My favorite is the carrot cake one. They were out of those, so I ordered a cinnamon roll. It was way too sugary sweet--not just the topping as one would expect--all of it. The servers at the drive through are always nice. My only gripe with the store is the "moon milk" which is cloyingly sweet and if you don't specify "normal" milk they automatically put moon milk in the drink. First, I have to admit that I don't drink coffee. I know I know. How do I survive? I still wanted to check this place out so I took a few friends with me and waited in the long line. It was 11 AM in both drive-through and inside had long lines on a Saturday. I can tell it is very popular. I had one of their summer drink instead of coffee. It is supposed to be a blend of their lemonade and moon milk. It was pretty good. My friends all had different drinks and they all liked theirs. I was hungry and was hoping to be able to get a sandwich, but they didn't have any when that day. I ordered a plain bagel, but they ended up not having it either, so I opted for the next savory one which was the jalapeño. Big mistake. I can't handle heat and it was too spicy for me. The coffee shop is small with only a handful of tables and chairs. We were able to get a table and sit down since most people were taking their drinks to go. They also sell other stuff like candles and shirts. They have coffee beans to go too. Parking is tricky especially when they're super busy. They share it with other businesses. read more

The menu is based off of different moons ..so its summer moon...half a moon...mocha moon and so forth.... I ordered a 3/4 moon along with....you guess it (2) CINNAMON ROLLS... not the drink was just ok...I mean I am a coffee kind of girl...NO!!!!! I AM A COFEE TYPE OF GIRL lol...so this screamed drink with milk and sugar...it just didnt hit my spot...BUT I wasnt terribly disappointed because lets not forget...my HEART WAS ON A CINNAMON ROLL BABY!!! so lets go I get home and noticed they were a bit on the hard side..no worries thats what microwave is 4 right? We were in search for a quaint coffee shop we could sit and enjoy a latte. Found this place and it was open til 8pm. it was only 530pm so we took a drive. We found it and parked. A couple of cars and it looked closed. As we approached everything looked dark inside. We tried the door, it was open. Upon entering we noticed all the chairs up on the tables and all the lights 'were' off. 1 person was waiting for their order. I looked at the clock and it said 7:40, and asked if that time was correct (which would've explained the state of things) no clock was just down. We ordered, got our drinks and found 2 seats at the back of the cafe. Others showed up and took down chairs to sit. A few others showed up too. Started looking livelier. Very smooth, creamy, and it really is about their crafted moonmilk. Thank goodness you can choose the amount of it, though!
