My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend D&G Auto Repair, especially for women who are looking for a respectful, honest, and trustworthy place to bring their vehicles. I'll definitely be back!

I've been taking my 17-year-old Kia to them for the last several years, and they have done everything from replacing broken sway bar links to managing to fix the catalytic converter when a needed part was unavailable due to supply chain issues in 2022. They are upfront about the most that a repair might cost, but they always try to fix things in the way that results in the lowest price tag for customers. Moreover, they give realistic and reasonable timelines for how long things might take to complete, but they often finish up ahead of when they estimate. Once again: an exemplar for automotive shops!

He aggressively tried to upsell me a battery and cabin filter, and gave humiliating and unhelpful answers when I asked for more information. He shoved my dirty cabin filter through my open car window into my face, loudly demanding I hold it. When I refused, he made aggressive physical gestures as if he were going to throw the dirty filter across the car onto my passenger seat, all while still loudly demanding I take it and hold onto it until they were ready to put it back. No other staff intervened. This blatant bullying caused me to feel trapped and unsafe inside my own vehicle. I doubt very much that Tyrone would have treated me this way if I were a man. In addition, the final service documents he handed me flagged absolutely zero issues with my battery or cabin filter, indicating a huge lack of integrity. I submitted a formal complaint and received a full refund and a few coupons for free services from the Area Manager, but after seeing recent reviews saying that Tyrone is still actively employed here, there is no way I would bring my car back to this location to use those coupons. Even going to a different location does not sit right with me. A refund does not excuse an absolute failure of customer safety and basic integrity. Do not come here.

He insist that the aftermarket part should not throw check engine light code, but the Subaru dealer and one more garage confirmed its the aftermarket part as I have also change the O2 sensor. I am not sure on what to do as this guy charge me $1000 and the original part will cost around $3K. This place is a scam and I will ask everyone to look at other places. Authorization: I have never received written quote or list of repair to do for authorization (just a call). During our call, Catalytic converter was never mentioned once but I cannot prove it until I can get the call record from the mobile service. Parts: Yes, you gave me the choice to replace the first installed aftermarket part with original part after our first confrontation. However, I repeatedly asked you if the check engine light is due to aftermarket parts and you replied "No". That's the reason I brought my friend for witness. Please go ahead and take necessary actions. I was okay with paying $1000 for the work if the problem was solved but it is persistent. As a veteran business owner and mechanic, you should have asked if I wanted to use aftermarket parts or original in the first place. Also, you should know that the newer car can give CEL with aftermarket part and suggest accordingly.

I had been hearing a rattling in the front of the car and also wanted my brakes looked at. I was given an appointment and brought my car in. Someone took my car for a drive, came back, and he said to me "your brakes are fine, I don't know what you think you're hearing. Bring it back if it gets worse." They didn't actually even LOOK at the brakes like I had requested. I was still concerned about my car and knew there was something wrong, and brought it to a different shop. This place actually looked at the car as well as drove it and found that needed all new front brakes, calipers, and struts. Well over $1000 worth of work. I'm glad I was able to give that place my money with their efforts and thoroughness. I will never bring my car to Smooth Automotive again.
