I went again asking about the check engine light issue which occurred due to the replacement without authorization. He insist that the aftermarket part should not throw check engine light code, but the Subaru dealer and one more garage confirmed its the aftermarket part as I have also change the O2 sensor. I am not sure on what to do as this guy charge me $1000 and the original part will cost around $3K. This place is a scam and I will ask everyone to look at other places. Authorization: I have never received written quote or list of repair to do for authorization (just a call). During our call, Catalytic converter was never mentioned once but I cannot prove it until I can get the call record from the mobile service. Parts: Yes, you gave me the choice to replace the first installed aftermarket part with original part after our first confrontation. However, I repeatedly asked you if the check engine light is due to aftermarket parts and you replied "No". That's the reason I brought my friend for witness. Please go ahead and take necessary actions. I was okay with paying $1000 for the work if the problem was solved but it is persistent. As a veteran business owner and mechanic, you should have asked if I wanted to use aftermarket parts or original in the first place. Also, you should know that the newer car can give CEL with aftermarket part and suggest accordingly. read more

They explained all the issues, told us half the things the dealer told us needed to be fixed was a total lie. They did a great job and were quick and very friendly. Avoid at all costs. Inspection sticker was illegally rejected. Employee claimed one out of four tire's treads were too low, somehow. He just wanted me to pay 35 dollars for a rejected sticker and come back for additional service. Got the inspection sticker approved down the street immediately after and reported the employee. read more

Very bad services. I asked them to change oil and air filter to my honda civic 2015 plus checking the tires as i know i have problem in the tires. After 4 hours they called me to pick my carbecause supposedly it was ready, i went there, i found i still have the tire problem as the car system says. I asked them previously and again when i arrived to check the rear left , the guy checked it very fast and he said its fine i insisted so he checked it again and he found a nail in the specific tire i asked them to check. Then the sign of tire pressure was still there i asked them to check them again but the guy there keep arguing and saying the sign will go when u drive give t few miles blah blah.. same exact thing he said then he found the nail... there is no honesty in this gas station they do not do what they are asked to and keep arguing without listening to the client. Do get a second opinion when dealing with this station. I had a slow leak with a tire and they took a day and a half to tell me that some broken electronic part could be replaced for $50 or $135 . I took it to another station where immediately it was found to have a leaking valve which they replaced in an hour, put it on my car and charged me $20. read more

George was not only very honest but also saved me a lot of money by recommending what he thought I should do and not do to the car. I highly recommend Arlington Shell for any car maintenance or repairs. I have taken my Honda Civic here for the past 2 years and have always felt I was taken care of for any issues my car was having and with respect at a reasonable price. George is the owner/mechanic and always walks me through the repairs he suggests to be made and will explain why he is fixing something a certain way. He is very approachable and detail oriented! So I don't normally review gas stations but I stopped in here and knew that I had to put something on Yelp about these guys. First and foremost, they are really cheap. The prices today were at least 12 cents cheaper per gallon than any other Shell in the Cambridge/Arlington area. I have been going to the Shell gas station for over 4 years now and have always found that the staff is very courteous and helpful. Whenever I have an issue with my car I call George, he takes a thorough look and lets me know by phone what the issues might be and the best next step. The sense I get is that he is very conscious of the price and I have always found the charges to be comparable and sometimes even cheaper then others. My car bottomed out entering the station off Mass Ave (it's a Jetta- not even a super low front). When I mentioned it to the attendant he said "slow down". Really? B/c I'm pretty sure I was going about 5mph. Then I handed him my Stop &Shop card for the discount and was told it didn't work on Diesel (despite having used it previously there.) I've been going here for years-but no more. A couple of weeks ago, the attendant said my debit card didn't work and insisted I use cash. I instead went down the street to another station and my card worked fine. Last night I went with cash, paid $35 and got $25 worth of gas. When I brought it to the attendant's attention, he basically said, "Tough." I liked using the Stop & Shop savings. I hope I can find another Shell station. read more

The people running this Shell are very rude and dishonest. I was there today and asked for $20 worth of gas. The attendant took my bankcard, filled up the tank with nearly $60 worth of gas, then ran inside and charged my card after he realized his mistake. When I went in to dispute this, the manager just said it was not his fault and it was too bad. After being told I would dispute this with my bank, he laughed and said, "you go ahead- nothing will happen and I'll get my money." I would never give them my custom again and encourage others to avoid this business. read more

This Shell gets one star for quick car inspections, but after driving away from my inspection this morning, my battery indicator light turned on! After some tests, I found that my alternator mysteriously died right after driving away from the gas station. Now I get to spend a couple hundred dollars and my weekend replacing my alternator.
