I needed two pairs of jeans hemmed and one pair patched in the thigh area due to normal wear and tear. The staff were extremely nice, and they did a good job overall. I'd also like to support a local mom-and-pop business. However, I found the prices quite high. I paid $20 for each alteration. I think that's a fair price for the patching, but quite expensive for hemming. I don't think I will be coming back. read more

Called to ask about estimate for taking in denim skirt 2 inches or so. After a few laughs bc I couldn't get the address right, and didn't realize I had bn passing this place 4ever; it was about a mile from my home. So I brought the skirt in. After being quoted $35 (not bad), but that pace was in Tarzana...Neewin's quoted me $80 STANDARD rate (and up), and how they are "trusted by the community to do quality work" (it's done on a sewing machine.....), I found Kleanerett the 3rd or so fumble on the internet. All I can say is, OLD SCHOOL VALUES. They didn't try and gorge me like the other tailor. $25 to take in, AND bc he couldn't take in the rest of the skirt bc of the pockets and buttons, he put darts in the back....Take THAT Neewin! read more

Me and my fiancé have been doing dry cleaning with this cleaner since June of 2020. I went to pick up a suede skirt that they had for a while because they said they needed to have it cleaned in a specific way because it was suede and when I went to pick it up it was completely ruined. I asked the lady not to charge my card because I was very dissatisfied with the way the skirt looked and she went against my wishes and charged the card anyways. I am not a confrontational person and instead of listening to my concerns she was very argumentative. I asked her politely for a refund and she declined. So bummed. I really wanted to love this place. Called in advance to find out laundry rates for shirts. Was told if you bring in 4 and no fancy things like French cuffs was $2.00 each or $2.25 for XL. Took in my 4 gap shirts - super plain! Picked up and they charged me $4.00 each! That's higher than the place I left because they charged too much. When I asked about it they said it was a "blouse" and they are more. These shirts have no difference from a mans shirt except they button on the opposite side. This lovely couple was able to come up with a creative solution that cost me a fraction of the price, and deliver it in half the time. I think the gentleman said he's been altering things for over 20 years and his father before him did it as well. They were also able to help my husband who had brought his tux to 2 different alterations places (before we knew about this location). The other places didn't understand what he wanted, but at Summit Kleanerette they were able to deliver, and for a better price than the other places. I was recommended this cleaners by a good friend who has gone here for years. I had always been very happy with their work and even had them do simple alterations on a few things which included zipper replacement and hemming. But one time I went in and took in a beautiful one of a kind vintage tunic/top to get cleaned. They called and said it couldn't be cleaned. I called back asking why and they said it had a small tear in it. So I went and picked up my order and when I got home, my one item (they claimed was damaged) was not included in my order. I had to go back and get it, no big deal but, did I they think I was willing to throw it away? It's a tiny tear, and you can hardly notice it. I'm wondering if it was just an oversight or did they want to keep it and not tell me?? Other than that they are very reasonable and hard working. They have a plant on their premises and no air conditioning! Is blisteringly hot in there in the summer, I don't know how they do it. Nice people though. read more

I find that this couple has tremendous work ethic; I get a call if there is even a risk of damage to an item. I then choose or choose not to risk. I have experienced no damages or losses at Summit Kleanerette. I came to Summit leery of dry cleaning establishments. Two other local cleaners lost or damaged my clothing. One completely ruined a semi-formal dress and lost a shirt; the other lost my favorite pants, hemmed another pair of pants two inches too short, and ruined a shirt. So, I walked into Summit with low expectations for a good experience (one that actually kept my clothing safe). We have used this cleaners a few times and they are very nice. We took an order in on Saturday and said we must have it by Tuesday at 10am. They said no problem. When we got there Tuesday the order was done except my blouse which was unfortunately stuck in the machine (which had broke). We were heading out of town and I needed the blouse for an event. They have a system where they don't seem to lose items (believe me, I challenged it when I thought they lost a skirt--I (me) found the skirt. In my closet. Hanging there. Anyway, I have lived in the area for over 20 years, and I have experienced damaged or lost items from many of the other cleaners in the area. Each time either has happened, I have moved to another cleaner.
