Summit is one of my favourite neighborhood dive bar in all of Seattle. It's one of the best dog friendly dive bars I've seen in Seattle. Their drinks are strong yet cheap, the bar tenders are nice to you, the patrons are well behaved and easy to have a good chat with. They have a great collection of draft beers too which keeps changing so you get variety. Try some of their high alcohol content beers. The pool table is slightly smaller than the standard size but well maintained, the Ques are not bent and the regulars that play pool after 10 are very friendly. They have outdoor seating and you are even allowed to take your drink outside as long as you are within the seating area. You cannot smoke in the seating area though. The kitchen is open till 10 pm I think and they have good burritos and tacos. Their sause is amazing and has a very homemade taste to it too. Also try the chips and cactus dip if you can. It's amazing. Summit is also a sports friendly bar. They show live Soccer games and other sports. This is a good place if you missed a soccer game and want to watch the repeat telecast the next day or the highlights later in the night. read more

I've always just ended up here for various reasons never really a spot you set out to go, but always a fun time. We ened up going here since the sun liquor next door wouldn't even let us in for a drink because they were too full. There was a 20 min wait.... no thanks... I could settle for a hoegarden at summit instead. I prefer to sit at the bar but there are a few booths and seats around the pool table. Just your classic neighborhood dive bar.Pretty much what you see is what you get. It has a mix of people and isn't too crowded even on a Saturday night which is a plus for me. . Nice place- as mentioned before, though, we were thoroughly disappointed to find no food. But the bartenders were really nice, and I loved the extra large tables and outdoor seating (which is hard to find in our rainy city). I came here for the first time on a first date. Had it been a bad first date, I'm sure I would have never looked back. But it wasn't, and I've been back many times since. The Summit is great. It's small, dark and quiet - the dark and quiet bit being things I prize highly in my bars. The bartenders are friendly and helpful, the pool is free, and while there isn't food, the pizza place next door will deliver to the bar for you and nobody will bat an eyelash. I liked it. Good beer, good atmosphere, and although I don't play pool, I know that's a plus for a lot of people. We just went for drinks, after reading reviews mentioning a lack of food - and it's true, at 10 pm someone asked for food & they were told the kitchen was closed (already!). We walked two steps next door to Toscana and grabbed some pizza, which was decent... just weird that the two establishments share a bathroom & I got briefly locked out of Toscana after using the "shared" bathrorom. :\ I guess Summit allows you to bring in food from Toscana, etc, which I think is nice, especially if they don't have food there. This is such a great neighborhood pub! They have a nice selection of beers on tab and show soccer games. Not really sure what else you could want in a pub. The staff is friendly and attentive but not annoying. My ONLY wish is that they would expand their food menu a little bit. read more

No food! Yeah. The website lies too. Disappointing as I went here looking for drinks and dinner. I have friends that hang out here so every time I go it seems to be a good time. When I'm tired of trying to make eye-contact with a bartender at Redwood (which, these days, is all too often, and that's too bad because I live literally a minute's walk from the place), I head over to Summit. I LOVE this bar. First, the bartenders are my favorite on the Hill. Hands down. I have never, ever had a bad experience here. They are friendly, helpful, and considerate. I can't say enough about these dudes. Second, the place is never uncomfortably crowded or full of idiots. Which isn't to say it's empty - because it's not. that, either. Somehow, there are always enough people to make it feel like a great social spot, but never so many that you're always in someone's way. Third, they love soccer here, and it's a great spot to catch a game and meet some new people. The beer selection is varied and they don't mind giving recommendations. This is one of my favorite Seattle neighborhood bars. Cute, simple, chill. Nice little outside area, and DOG FRIENDLY! I used to frequent this bar on a weekly basis when my boyfriend at the time lived just a block away, and we always had a great time here. Indoor and out door seating and best of all great local beers on tap. Just a few blocks from my place, don't know why I don't stop in more often! I'd love to become a regular here. I really like Summit Public house for two reasons: 1) I can bring my dog and sit outside and drink and 2) the on tap selection. You always have to order at the counter. I don't think I have ever seen a wait staff around. When you order chips they are plentiful with a mild/medium salsa. The tv's are usually playing some sort of sports. I appreciated over the summer they ran the World Cup. I also like that in addition to a great selection of micro brews on tap they usually have a hard cider or pear cider on tap as well. I really like this bar - it's super laid back and dive-y. I live on the same block and during the summer it was a great late night place to grab a beer and relax. There's always a good crowd (and never too crowded), no dirties or crazies (hey, it's Capitol Hill!). They had a happy hour during the Tour de France this summer and I went almost every day after work. The bartender doesn't have much to say, but he makes great drinks! Very cool bar! Helps that it's less than two blocks from my apartment. Great beer selection and good mixed drinks. I can never remember the name of this place, but that doesn't matter, I know where to find it! I love the fact that you can grab food from Toscana to bring in. People are friendly, and I don't feel like a freak if I go in alone. Summer seems to be the perfect time to visit. There are tables outside and most of the time, you'll find a couple of dogs to pet. Jolly enough place.. I live across the street and they have some mean lean bean burritos (with whatever kind of meat you desire) that are only 7 bucks and they surely do kick ass. That being said its a bit too bro-ey in there when its busy. Don't go here to meet women, if you want, its a great spot to chill and eat burritos and watch football on sunday but only if you want to see the hawks. good luck getting anything else. I might add I may be one of those duchy sheds of tools when I get drunk, but hell I don't like to admit it. (I prefer denial and self loathing along with the associated guilt that comes along) Also I can see why these people love it.. I was being a complete ass one night with some other complete asses that I know from up the way, we got pretty rowdy and I am amazed to say I didn't get kicked out. When I most assuredly should have! Also, they had a huge grill outside with a guy cooking up some hot dogs for the patrons. My friend's dog got drunk at Summit. The dog is very small and snuck a snip off of my long island. 10 minutes later, he tried to lift his leg to pee and fell over, peeing all over himself. Whatever, it's a bar. I thought it was too pricey ($5 well whiskey sour, which was not great, and $7.50 margaritas and bloody Marys). The margarita was gross (to me, I hate that sweet mix stuff), but the bloody Mary was tasty. Decent atmosphere. Would return if removed from the Pike/Pine corridor. Love this neighborhood dive-y bar! It has a most excellent beer selection with a rotating tap that usually has something delicious coming out of it. The bartenders are always super-friendly and don't have that angsty, "i'm cooler than you, please stop wasting my time so I can get back to my deep conversation about incredibly ecclectic indy music" type attitude that Seattle is famous for. Easily my favorite bar on the hill, to me this place is special. It's a hidden gem I truly look forward to partaking in every weekend. It's my go to bar to run into local folks and enjoy myself. Staff members are always extremely kind, and the beer selection is outstanding. From cheap drinks to great beer options, this place has your back. The mix drinks are often stiff and tasty and the food is great, it's not a high end option for a sit down meal. But the food leaves you craving more, huge fan of the tacos and burritos.
