Great coffee which is easy to grab since I currently live in the neighborhood. A little pricey but the coffees are all delicious and very well made. Outside they have a patio with bags and bocce ball to play. Dogs also allowed on the patio. Small snack/food options and they have beans to go as an option as well! One of my new favorite coffee shops in town. Lots of windows, a good amount of indoor seating (although a tiny negative is there aren't a lot of outlets), a pretty outdoor area, music is not too loud (I really dislike when the background music is blaring - makes it hard to study or talk), free parking in the garage, tasty coffee, and VERY friendly baristas. Ive had the Vanilla Bean Latte (both iced and hot versions), which is really good. Definitely will be back! read more

The hot honey latte was so delicious and also gorgeous - which I was not expecting so it was an extra pleasant surprise. The drink had a pretty pink hue and the espresso flavor came through well. It also wasn't too sweet - I would absolutely order this again. The shop has a nice open space with the bar's layout and the barista was nice, greeting us when we walked in and answering any questions we had. Would highly recommend this spot for an afternoon or morning pick-me-up, it's a short walk from centennial park. read more

Never written a review so fast. Overpriced and rude. Kids basically too busy doing nothing to care. Iced coffee with an ad shot was 9.95. Yes 10 dollars for a cold red eye. Them forgot my sweetener. And then of course the awesome eye roll and attitude when I went back. Funny I asked myself how they could survive just selling coffee (no food except a plate of muffins on the counter). Was walking up to the coffee shop to get some work done and was informed that the power was out in the whole building. The two employees working that day still let me come in and sit until the power came back on. They made small talk with me and even asked for my music preference when they were trying to pick a station! Once the power came back on I was able to get a delicious coffee! read more

A neat place with lots of tables and chairs where you can work or study or have a first date! I ordered one of the teas ($7), which was a bit more expensive than I would like but there is free refills--they also seem to change out the tea flavors, so the Yelp menu pictures may be outdated. The tea and refills came out within a few minutes. Staff were friendly. The ambiance was warm and inviting--I got a lot of work done (though I didn't note any outlets or at least they were not obvious to me). Also, the underground parking is free (for 2h I think). Nice space to hang out either inside or out if the weather fits. Plenty of tables and couches and it wasn't too loud if you wanted to get some work done The nitro cold brew didn't fare too well compared to most others I've had. It didn't have that nice creamy flavor most have had, it was quite bitter and certainly could've benefited from adding some milk which takes away the whole purpose of making it a nitro read more

Came back and had the vanilla bean latte this time. It was just okay. I didn't really taste any vanilla in the coffee, so I definitely recommend the caramel latte over this one! However, like I said before, it's very pricey. I paid $6.56 for the latte with regular milk. read more

This is a really nice coffee shop on the west side of Nashville. It is in sort of a strange location, surrounded by apartment complexes and connected to some sort of medical buildings but the inside has large glass windows that provide great natural light which I really like. They also have unquestionably some of the best coffee in Nashville. They have like 8 single origin coffees to choose from and they are nicely brewed to let you taste all the notes of the bean. Bright atmosphere with very friendly staff. Ethiopian pour over was on the bit of a hot side with bit burnt taste. Yes, I'm also bit of a snob when it comes to coffee and pour over. That said, wife liked it with some cream (I drink straight). Parking was interesting with some random lady asked or forcing us to scan and put in our personal phone number. this was street parking. Probably the best latte I've ever had and I'm such a coffee snob. The chai was also fantastic and strongly spiced, just the way I like it. I love all the plants, lots of natural light, and adequate tables for studying or getting work done, with outlets available, if needed. Free 2 hour parking in the garage was nice as well. The staff were friendly and efficient and overall would recommend Sump highly! We will be back soon! read more

This location is a 5-8 minute drive from the Parthenon. I had a little time to kill and figured the other major coffee chains had enough of my money all ready. Note: Sump isn't easily viewable from the street, it is behind Pastaria. You walk in and it's simple seats, furniture, decor and feel. Expected for the new industrial-ish looking area. I had a seasonal drink on Oct 18, 2019 - I think it was called the Dark Lantern. It was ginger beer, espresso and some other stuff. It was delicious. The staff were so kind to explain it to me too - when I had it 'to go' they didn't have any obligation to do so. Scored major points and enough for me to write the review to persuade others to try it out. It was 6 bucks ish before tip - as long as you're from a normalish city - the prices weren't through the roof IMO. If I'm in the area again , I will most definitely be back!! read more

First time staying at the hotel next door. Tried to order a half caff (half decaf and half reg) iced. Was told they can't make this...I'm thinking is this not a coffee shop? They do make coffee here right? Instead they tried to charge me full price for a regular coffee and then again for the half caff then they would mix it together for me and put it in a cup like I asked in the first place. Batista parlor have NO PROBLEMS making this bc they are nice folks and not TOTAL GREEDY ASSHOLEs Do not go to this coffee shop read more

What a great space! This little spot was within walking distance of where we were staying in Nashville for a long weekend. We could wait to check it out, as we LOVE the original St. Louis location. This location has a very different vibe than the original location just due to the building alone. This spot is very open, lots of light, and lots of seating. You can hang out on a couch and enjoy your drinks, hang at the bar or grab a table. The drinks are top notch. I've never had anything bad from Sump. Ever. Their iced dirty chai tea latte is so amazing. read more

Reliable coffee and a quiet atmosphere. The cafe is tucked behind another restaurant, so it's not in the general view. The location is pretty easy to get to, but parking is shared. The decor is industrial and simple. The staff was friendly and inviting. I would definitely go back if I wanted some time to get work done without interruptions. However, I didn't notice any outlets, so I wouldn't plan on a long study binge or group projects. The area and cafe is animal friendly and the crowd was diverse in age! I ordered a latte with oat milk, which I enjoyed! Something I really liked about this cafe was the open space and the large windows. Okay, Sump Nashville, we see you. This is a beautiful spot to do a number of things: -Drink really nice coffee -People watch -Catch the vibe -Work remotely -Catch up with a friend -You get the point That day I started out with an oat milk latte, which was fire. It was delicious and well made. I also had their espresso option later on in my day, which was perfect. One of my favorite parts of being here is the huge windows. When you are inside, you might get confused and think you're outside because of the beautiful floor to ceiling windows. Because of them the lighting inside is always on point. First stop as we drank offer throughout Nashville. Certainly each had a latte, one plain and one with vanilla. Both were fantastic, with great roast notes and wonderful warmth. We also shared an herb croissant which was also fantastic! The only downside was the significant amount of construction happening in the business park where the shop is located making parking a little rough. read more

Had such a nice morning experience here. Came in on a Friday morning. Tons of street parking. Not many people there. The inside was really quiet, good for working. Was surprised that they have matcha latte and it's really really good matcha latte! They make it from scratch with the authentic and high-tech automatic brush thing to mix the matcha powder with hot water. Along with the foamy milk, it tastes awesome! I usually hate super sweet matcha latte, and theirs' have the right sweetness coming from the foamy milk along with the slightly bitter taste of matcha, super combination. This is a cool little coffee shop on the other side of Pastaria. We dropped in for some coffee/tea after brunch at Pastaria. It was cold and rainy, and we wanted to drink something warm and comforting before heading back out into that weather. My husband got their maple latte which hit the spot for him (he's got a sweet tooth). I had one of their teas, which was lovely. It's a nice, quiet, calm, not-too-busy spot. There were multiple tables available when we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, and it was quiet and peaceful enough for several people to be working or studying. The service was good, the prices were what you would expect, and the coffee/tea we tried were very good. If you're in the area, it's a great place to stop! read more

I am a huge fan of Sump in St. Louis, so I was excited to try Sump in Nashville. The space is beautiful and airy. Lots of great light coming in through the windows. But let's be clear--while this is a great space to enjoy coffee, a visit to Sump is all about the coffee and it did not disappoint. I had a delicious pour over from Costa Rica. Fantastic coffee prepared very intentionally. Probably one of the best shots of espresso I've ever had. I tried their Costa Rican espresso offering along with two of their Groundcontrl prepared offerings. All were very smooth and balanced cups of coffee. I also got their honey lavender lemonade which was fire and not too sweet. The staff were all great and it is clearly a pretty popular spot. Overall no issues and I will probably go again.
