After receiving a reference from another satisfied client, I took my car to Sun when my car started rattling. Patrick helped me. He was pleasant and professional and took my car in right away. He went over the issue slowly and even brought me in the back to show me the issue and explained how it happened and what was needed to fix it. I never experienced that before and was very impressed with their commitment to client satisfaction. Just as a comparison, another garage in the same neighborhood wanted almost $100 just to do a diagnostic evaluation of the issue. $100 before they even told me what was wrong. I'm writing this review not because they did a great job with their service... They didn't even do any service. But what they were was honest. I brought my car in to have the alignment and brakes checked as they were shaking at high speeds. They checked the alignment and said it was perfect. They checked the brakes and said that the rotors were a little bit warped but that we had had 90% life left on them and that if we can handle the shaking it's not hurting the car. He recommended doing nothing and sent us home without collecting a dime. He said he would've loved to sell us brakes but wanted to do right by us and the car. They earned my trust and my future business. read more

The tire pressure light came on so I stopped by to get it checked out. Uriel came out and asked if I needed help. I told him I needed air on my rear left tire. Brought in a 05 jetta 2.5L for a check engine light. told me they needed to replace the valve cover and gasket, which i said okay lets do it. 600$ later and the car was running worse than when i brought it in, and they had no explanation for it, except that it's probably running worse because my spark plugs and ignition coils are bad. so after changing all plugs and coils, still running horrible (engine bogging, stalling, shutting off). changed the MAF,still horrible. upon further review, the valve cover gasket was folded into the block, causing a gigantic vacuum leak. i didn't even bother to check as i trusted the work done for 149.99$ an hour. the only upside to my experience was how cool Mike was about the situation. i came back in, explained everything with pictures as evidence, and he told me just come back with the parts and i'll give you your full refund. however, whoever the techs are in the back should be canned. it's insanity that they are licensed for these types of jobs and someone watching youtube videos can find the issue. read more

They must have had at least 6 cars in their garage they were working on but found time to look at my car, fill up the coolant and I was back on the road in 15 min. The customer service was pretty good. However I did make an appointment and still had to wait over an hour and a half for my car to be serviced. My Oil was also leaking after my oil change, Which was not happening before I take it in and I had it take it back. They stated that it just wasn't on tight. They also gave me the wrong return date sticker. And they also forgot to reset in my car that I had an oil change, so my oil change light was coming on after I got serviced. In all, I had to go back twice after my oil change which I do not have a lot of time to do. It would be nice to have a one time visit when everything is completely done and done right so I don't have to keep going back-and-forth. read more

Again, another kudos to Sun Auto (Patrick). I came in there hoping I wouldn't have to pay another arm and a leg from other mechanics and Patrick saved my pocket after already having issues with past auto mechanic, USA Auto (Purfect Auto). He went out of his way to check something after researching for me and it was a simple headlight switch due to dome interior that was not turning off in time which could have later run down my battery. Few minutes earlier before I went to them, was going to Good Year off St Rose and they didn't even go that far to help me but referred me to an auto electric place. Gee, that could have cost me more out of pocket not knowing if it was just a simple problem that I had learning from Sun Auto. Kudos to Sun Auto! These guys were extremely accommodating. We were towing through town when we started having some problems with our truck. Mike answered my call and made my vehicle his priority. Unfortunately the problem wasn't an easy fix and I ultimately needed a new transmission. Within an hour of leaving Sun, I was having my truck towed to the dealership. This was hard to stomach after spending over $700 at Sun Auto. When I asked at the dealership, the employees there stated that Sun Auto is extremely reputable. Dont waste your money with these guys. They will play nice at first, that JD guy and Patrick. They wont fix your car, unless you pay an extra $5,000. Even then, theres still a possibility it wont be fix. I paid almost $3000 for my check engine to be removed, and still nothing. I went to BMW only, the check engine light is gone and i just paid $700. Never again. Also that Patrick guy is LIAR! He told he replaced my batter with a new one, turns out he lied. My uncle is a mechanic and when we looked at it, its the same one from 7 years ago. That's malpractice and lying. He should get fired. read more

I went in for an oil change on Saturday and needed my tires aired up. My tire pressure light stayed on for several miles before it finally shut off. Before the light went off, I went back to the store and the gentleman indicated that there wasn't anything he could do to help me. May need to find another mechanic shop again. I don't want to feel like a nuisance. I just need a reliable mechanic/automotive repair shop. The light came back on Monday morning. Ended up taking it to a totally different shop to resolve the issue. (Update: Spoke to JD. He gave me a free oil change the next time I come in. My confidence is restored. OK, I don't usually give out 5 star reviews, but I think this one is deserved. I have a 2001 PT cruiser. I had what I thought was a bad water pump. On a PT cruiser, this is a catastrophe, as the water pump is buried inside of the engine, and it costs a fortune to replace. I had gathered several estimates, ranging from 1200-1500 dollars, and one insane mechanic estimated $2,100.00 Sun's estimate was around 900 bucks. which is what most decent mechanics charge on average... I brought my car to them, and they took a look. Now this is where they earned 5 stars. The problem was an O ring. not the water pump. They could have just replaced the water pump (which would have included the O-ring), and charged me 900 bucks... but they called me, and told the truth. In this day and age, that is rare. I was quite pleased, and had them do some additional work and ended up fixing several things for less than half of the original estimate. their work was excellent, and my problems were solved. There are many decent mechanics out there. I'm sure many of the are honest. and Some are probably reasonably priced... but finding all three of those things at one place was a delight. Oh, and did I mention, that they had everything done by 1:00pm, on the day I brought the car in?.. yea. Fast, Reasonably priced, honest, great workmanship... Good job guys. I dealt with Keith. He was excellent. I recommend these guys highly. They fixed my little car right the first time. read more

Pep boys sold me bad struts and then when I went to get them swapped out, Pep boys broke both of the new strut mounts. Sun Auto was able to diagnose my problem for free within 20 minutes and let me know exactly what had happened. Naturally I gave them my business. I read the Yelp reviews on Sun Auto Service - they're close to my house - I gave them a call - talked to Brendon. They took me in immediately (it was 2 pm on a Monday). They found the problem right away (the battery) - they didn't try to tell me that it was more than it was - upsell me - just a battery. They replaced it, and sent me on my way in 20 minutes.
