First of all they responded to my service call in a timely matter-5 Stars Service Professional Charlie was a little negative about what could be done to service my Lift-master. I know my unit is old but it's still working very nicely quiet and efficient. The plastic clip that broke as Charlie stated they don't have those parts anymore???? He resolved my problem and he recommended what I should do going forward, as time went on Charlie became more like, stop the selling scenario and let's resolve this customers problem and hopefully he will come back and buy a replacement unit from our company someday, I got charged a $144 for about 10 minutes work and conversation. I thought that way HIGH but what was I going to do? I give Charlie 3 Stars for fixing my current problem. I had an emergency situation where the spring on my garage door broke with my car trapped inside. Sun City was prompt and sent Nick Munoz an expert repairman immediately out to my house to assess the situation in detail and answer all of my questions. Nick replaced my builder grade springs with a much better torsion system and at my request changed the steel rollers to nylon. I would have given Nick's service an excellent review except that his company charged me for the replacement and rollers $1899. So if you find yourself in an emergency situation, you could not get a more prompt and knowledgeable repair person, but you will be paying for it! read more

Do not use this company. I called and was given the appointment between 8a-12noon. I get call and they did not leave message. I called and they said the tech is tied up for the rest of the day?! I was offered another appointment the next day between 8a-12noon. I asked why I can't have the first appointment as I have waited all day. Her reply was "8am-12noon" I told her I was called another company, and her reply was "OK" . Horrible customer service. Took the day off and they didnt care at all. Call Elite, Much better. I assume Sun City took over for First Choice Garage, as we called them for warranty service for a spring that was changed out less than 3 years ago. The technician came out to examine the garage and said the springs installed by the company they purchased were very low cycle. The estimate was quite high for two low cycle springs that they suggested for us which was $499 + tax. If I went with high cycle they said they would charge $699 + tax. We called a few other places and the prices dropped by almost a half. I would recommend not going with Sun City Garage if you can and also realize it appears that they overarching company purchased several other high rated garage repair companies. So be prepared for some shady business. read more

Do not use this company for garage door replacement!! The door I ordered was supposed to take 3 weeks to get here as it was a customed ordered door with custom paint to match my house. The door finally arrived and I had to take the day off because the time frame i was given was between 10am and 1pm. The technician arrived 10 minutes before 1pm with a white door. I did not order a white door! So he left without installing a new door. Soonest it could be installed was almost a week later. I called the office and all they offered was $150 for my wasted time and an apology. No offer of getting it installed earlier. My garage door would not stay closed due to an old faulty part and would randomly open making it a safety issue.. as well as needing some other repairs. The company was prompt. Scheduling was easy . I had a Sun City tech come out to do a simple service of putting my chain back on track for my garage door opener. I was informed the sprocket for the chain was bent and garage door opener was unrepairable and the tech tried to convince me to purchase a new garage door opener. I declined new garage door opener and was charged $89.99 for his services. I called Winston doors and tech Ross was able to replace chain and sprocket in 30 minutes without trying to sell me a new garage door opener. Wish there were more honest techs to really help the consumer Instead of ripping us off and trying to meet there quota. read more

This company misrepresents itself. We called a local garage door repair company that had installed our opener a few years ago to resolve an issue that arose. Someone answered the phone and then scheduled a technician for us. He came and repaired the springs and cables, beginning the work without quoting us a price. It took about an hour. Then he presented us with an invoice for an absurd $1,333 with the name Sun City Garage Doors on it... I had never heard of this company and that is not who I called. No one on the phone ever told me This was a different company even when I asked for technicians we had previously worked with. This service would cost $600-$700 from any local company. It seems like a large national entity called Anytime Garage Door is buying up the phone numbers of small local service providers, then routing technicians to you with inflated prices, of course without telling you what it will cost before they finish their work. Sun City Garage Door Service is part of this scam. Do not use them unless you want to pay double what any other local reputable provider would charge! read more

Our garage door just stopped working one day. Called Sun City Garage Door and said they'd have someone out that afternoon . They were unable to get someone out however that stayed in touch with me throughout the day and their tech came on Sat/next day per our reschedule. Eric was really helpful and got the job down in less time he estimated. He also stayed to answer some questions I had about a possible door replacement. Door works perfect now and a bit more quiet!! I called this company only because I was in an emergency situation and needed my garage door fixed ASAP. They came out very quickly and when the tech arrived we went over the issue and the solution. One of my springs had broken and he recommended that they both be fixed to be able to balance them out. That made sense, but it was going cost me $1400, well I agreed, but I had to leave for work. My wife was home and she called a few minutes after I left and the tech proceeded to tell me that the motor could not raise the door and I would need another motor. I asked him how much for that and he said $999!!! crap for a motor!!! Anyway, I needed it fixed and agreed but asked if there was anything he could do with the price and told him I was seeing some on the internet for $200-$300. He knocked off $100 and did not charge for installation. I believe he overcharged me and provided what he thought would make them the most money, not looking out for the customer. I looked at the same motor but with no MyQ and it was $159. I feel completely screwed and do not recommend this company and will never call them for service again. I know I'm going to get an apologetic response but what I would really like and is completely fair is at least $700 of my money back. Be very careful when using this contractor!!!! Got charged 700 for springs. These springs run about 80-180 dollars. National average is 250-400 for this service so it appears to be excess cost and for what appears to be to rip off consumers. Also it's not easy to finds this business to make a complaint. Their website with az does not work and there seem to be a few variations of their name. I'm calling my congressman to introduce price transparency legislation. Other people reviewing here said it's double what other company's cost. And the salesman does try up charging you too it seems. We called them, they came out and quoted $440 to replace a broken spring. The technician, Charley, did this quickly then added that it would be a good idea to replace the ball bearing rollers. This took an extra 5-10 minutes. Charles THEN told my husband the charge was now $839! MIND YOU, this is almost $400 more than the quote! I have called several garage door companies, some with similar names, and they have all said they would NOT have charged that. Charley told my husband that he was adding on the labor (as if this isn't part of the original quote.) I have called this company to resolve this issue, always being promised that someone would call me back to resolve this issue. Two weeks later and I have still not heard a word. Once I was told they were having staffing issues. So...buyer beware!!! If you like doing business with dishonest and bait and switch type companies like this. If not..,stay away. Requested a quote for garage door replacement.Technician said he could "service" the door for $129. Next thing he says is springs are cracked and need to be replaced. Without a written, itemized quote technician proceeded to complete work. in the end a $1112.98 bill was presented for replacement of two springs. Invoice was not itemized and was missing breakout of labor charges. Very unprofessional way to run a business. In 2022 SCGC answered the phone for Ahwatukee Garage Doors and scheduler clarified they purchased the business. Dylan came out quickly to address the one large spring we had that broke. Dylan suggested he put in two smaller springs for better balance and reliability. 95% of customers never know how proper the spring work was done since their opener carries the load. The other 5% find out when they go to disconnect the door from the opener, which I did about 15 months after the springs' installation. Door dropped rapidly and almost slammed into the floor before I caught it. Called SCGD and mentioned the tension needed to be rechecked. When I asked about the cost, the scheduler said it would be $89 if that was all that was needed (fair price). Nick arrives next day and immediately distances himself from Dylan (no longer with the company) but I was puzzled why it would matter if the work was done right. Nick stated the girls aren't supposed to give quotes and he'd have to call to get approval to tension for that price since it would be $129. Loyalty manager stated it was OK to comp the tension even though I was just outside 1 year. I told Nick that I didn't expect free work and appreciated them showing-up quickly, so I would pay the $89, which I did. Six months later I detach the garage from the opener and it drops noticeably faster than it should. Call SCGD again and request Nick return, which he does very quickly (hooray). Nick first states the door is perfectly balanced but then eventually admits the shoulder-height test shows tension is needed. Back on the phone waiting for Loyalty Manager. While on hold, Nick states any adjustment to tension requires the open/close limits on the opener to be adjusted (something he did not mention or do 6 months earlier). Loyalty Manager eventually answers and speaker-phones me "Too bad, gotta pay $129!" Nick again distances himself from Dylan's work, which seems to solidify an opinion from another garage tech that the springs SCGD installed are undersized and that's why thy keep losing tension. Needless to say, declined the $129 service...not another penny to this company. Next time I will check Rosie On The House's referral list. read more
