Pre-review information: Adam- owner. Previously had 4 quotes for concrete and/or patio and artificial turf to redo our backyard prior to calling Adam at Nevada Turf Installers (NTI). I called NTI with a specific question that I was trying to get an answer to that my other professional quoters gave me. I was basically comparing answers across different companies. Adam picked up the call and said the following: The other guys are full of shit, your lawn requires you to keep up with it, not some other crap they are trying to sell you. I immediately appreciated his honesty and asked if he could come quote my yard for a patio (pavers) and artificial turf, and he agreed. His nephew came out within a day or two and went over everything with me. The price was very fair. As soon as my patio cover was built, I contacted Adam and asked when he might be able to fit me in to complete the pavers and turf. Adam was able to get me in within about 5-7 days, mostly due to a prior cancellation, and my flexibility (so please don't be jerks thinking they can always work miracles). His team and his wife finished most of the job in one day and came back for about 4 hours the second day to finish the rest of it. The nitty gritty: This wasn't an easy job. We had some grading going on and they met and exceeded the objective of leveling the entire backyard and even the entrance to the back gate so it was aesthetically pleasing from back gate to back yard. When they were done the first day, they cleaned the entire side area of their working space and it looked like a brand new subdivision that was just built. They maintained the same level of cleanliness on the second day when they finished and packed up. Adam came out and noticed that on the outside of the back gate where they had built up the ground to match the grade to the backyard, there was no more rock. His immediate concern was my HOA and he offered to purchase and replace rock in that area before the job was finished. I agreed and really appreciated that attention to detail. Adam literally picked up the existing rock, attempting to color match it to the best of his ability. I promise this is coming to an end....the only thing I would've done differently is called Adam at NTI first and not wasted anyone else's time with all those other garbage quotes. If you're still reading this review, I'm sorry it's so long, but you're probably really looking for a good company--so please, just call Adam already at Nevada Turf Installers. This review is overdue but hey here it is. If you need your job done fast and don't mind to pay for it ! Don't look farther ! I gathers a couple of estimates for our simple clean landscape and decided that Nevada Turf Installers was the one who could do it faster and right. The company is a small business run by the owner Adam, wife Eve, and nephew Gerardo. I had the pleasure to work with Gerardo, he is the artificial Turf guy but he was pretty much in charge overviewing our project. He come over to check the work and gave the estimate and the time frame to finish the job and I like the way how he communicate and quick response to any text and calls. We initially propose a large pavers under our large patio, in some part around the pool, river rocks around all the walls in between plants, ended up with 65 plants small to 5 Gallons and adjust the price as we knew more. I love the end result of our job so much and since I was on site during all the works, I can quicky make changes when I notice something was different from our plans. In most part very easy to work with if you are willing to pay for the changes you make along the way. Their prices is in the middle range from my estimates however I picked them vs the less expensive one since he promised me to finished our job in one week and they finished it in 2 days ! I couldn't be more pleased for that. Planting trees are $15 each from very small plant to 5 gallons, above that I am not sure. I am giving 4 stars not because they did a bad job. We just finished our pool the same week as they did the landscape and the pool was very sensitive, nothing should have dropped in the pool and I suggested that I was going to purchase a tarp to cover the pool so nothing could drop in the pool and Gerardo ignored my suggestions and promised me that they will be careful and nothing will be dropped in the pool, they were careful however these guys work hard during that heatwave and they did drops rocks in the pool and that was not easy for me to see bits of dirty rocks from small to big enough to see the chunks dropping in my brand new pool and that worried me it would damage the pool. At the end of the day the pool was ok but still! I like smooth process. Also the guys who does the job doesn't speak English very much (very little English) even the manager don't speak English, so the communications have to be between you and Gerardo and whom ever the person in charge is between Adam and Eve. I had some miner issue a few weeks later and called Gerardo about it and he still come over to check it out and he said that the project have 5 Years warranty and so far everything is working well and we are very pleased with our landscape and thank God no damage to the pool. Would I hire them again yes, in my opinion make sure you insist with your thoughts and don't take no for an answer so you don't have to have an anxiety over a rocks to drop in your pool like me. read more

Good work, communication could be better. Adam came up with a plan to transform my yard. We did phase one last Fall and I'm very happy with the results. Unfortunately, I can't use him for phase two. When his crew started, they removed some rocks along the fence line that were supposed to stay; they help keep our dogs from digging out of the yard. I pointed it out to Adam and figured it was taken care of. No big deal, right? Just a few softball sized rocks that could be easily replaced. But his crew took the rocks. We tried to follow up with text messages and an email but I guess it wasn't important enough. Adam never responded and we ended up scrounging rocks and bricks to fill in the spot. I don't care too much, but it pi$$ed my wife off something fierce, and that's how Nevada Turf Installers lost ~$4000 worth of work over $20 worth of rocks. read more

Please note that the one-star is not a reflection of the individual who came to view my yard and provide a quote as he was respectful and nice; but instead the individual in charge of relaying the information via text. I reached out to multiple companies to obviously use the best service to turf a very small portion of my yard. No rocks or borders needed just turf. This company is among the many whom I have consulted. A young man came to my home the same day and was very polite, had samples, and seemed to understand what I was requesting. After the visit, he was to send me a quote, one with only turf, and another that included a border to separate the turf from my existing rock border within 20 minutes. I reached out via text after 2 hours passed and had no estimate. I was provided with two quotes, both included borders and one also included rock landscaping. I was immediately confused. I attempted to politely gain clarity while also inquiring if the pricing was negotiable considering the price they suggested seemed high for a small patch of turf only. Instead, I was met with a rude response suggesting that I shop around and thanks for my time???? Glad I have appointments with multiple others AND if they all quote similar prices that's fair I absolutely will pay. Adam was very prompt to respond to a quote request and set up an appointment for confirming measurements. During this communication with him, I clearly stated that I was interested in having work done on my new build home which was not going to be completed until early December. On the day of the appointment, as also stated in another 1 star review, he was running late - which was not ideal, but fine. He called around a half hour before the appointment to notify me that he was running 30-45mins late. Adam shows up to the appointment 70 minutes late. He calls me and asks me "is this a new build because I can't do anything yet." The conversation went a bit longer with attitude and frustration in his voice (just like in his responses to other 1 star reviews he received here on Yelp), basically telling me that he along with other companies would not be able to give me a quote as it was too early. Perhaps he was having a bad day or just didn't want to do the estimate as it was late already, but I was able to get quotes from other companies earlier in the day with no problems. This could've been a very positive experience... sketchy and unprofessional. After getting multiple quotes and feeling out the professionalism/punctuality of other companies, my boyfriend and I were happy to move forward with Adam, the owner. He was the first good experience we had so far, being prompt to answer my phone call, had great advice, a great quote & his personality was refreshing! (He wasn't trying to up-sell me, push opinions on me, or tell me his services and two lame turf samples were my only option like Tough Turtle Turf did) We scheduled an in person appointment for a more accurate quote & to look through the range of turf options he had. The day of, he asked to push back 45 minutes and when he didn't show at that time, he called to ask if he could come by that evening instead as he had multiple projects going on and will be in our area then. This seems to be a common occurrence with turf installation companies though, as it wasn't the first time we had this no-show/ rescheduling experience with others. We were frustrated, felt evident we were last priority and he could've agreed to a time more suitable for him so that we could've been more productive with our time. Instead we were waiting around for an hour and a half and then rescheduled on yet again. But we decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, I kept rooting for him because up until that moment he was so helpful and punctual, not to mention the reviews on here are great! That evening, the appointment went really well, he was so easy going, had lots of helpful info and answers to all our questions, apologized for the poor experience earlier, and even left the two turf samples my boyfriend and I were deciding between for more time to think. The next day, he gave us the official quote via email and we were SO excited to move forward with getting our backyard space completed. Before finalizing, we wanted to be sure we were protected before giving away our money (is that too much to ask? haha) We asked a few more questions and pointed out his website link doesn't work for us to find out more about his company. So when we asked if they were Licensed and/or Bonded.. he stopped all communication and blocked my number..... I guess the lesson learned was I should've done more research before calling this company based off of testimonials. Wouldn't have wasted both his time and mine. We really liked the guy and had no doubt he could get the job done well, he just handled things in a way that left things sour. Hope this experience is helpful to someone out there looking for a reputable company where you as the customer have confidence that you are protected in the long run...
