We recently purchased a spa for our home. Unfortunately what comes from owning a spa is upkeep, maintenance and having some knowledge of water chemistry. When you are ignorant to these things, reaching out to the experts is incredibly helpful. That's where Alex came in. Where the pool and spa company in which we purchase the tub from failed, Alex succeeded. Within a month of owning our spa, our water turned murky. We were given the frog at ease system for our tub that failed to deliver what we were told it would, and the "ease" of use fell tremendously short. We contacted the company where we purchased the spa and was told to shock and add chlorine. It made no difference. Wastefully, we dumped the water from only a month of use and refilled it only to see the water was still turning cloudy without any use. Confused, again, reaching out to the company who sells the tub, we did what was suggested, to no avail. Finally with much frustration, I reached out to Alex. He came out quickly. Testing the water, he assessed that our PH was way too high and we lacked any chlorine. Baffled, considering I've added chlorine and have the frog floater in my tub, I asked Alex to please fix the water in our spa. He educated me on what he was doing and what was necessary for upkeep of our new tub and within 24 hours without having to dump the water, our tub was crystal clear! We are pleased with the service we were given and wanted to make sure the Yelp community knew that if you need help with your pool or spa, call Alex! Alex is fantastic - great with the hot tub and great at explaining things to customers. Our hot tub has been low-grade leaking for awhile but the leak got worse. Alex showed up right on time, wearing a mask, and diagnosed our leak in about 15 minutes. I asked for a quote to repair my hot tub. On 12/27/2020, Sun City responded "the best thing will be for me to stop by and take a look at everything." The Sun City representative arrived on 12/29/2020. He tried to determine a cheap way to fix the hot tub. After an hour, he charged me $80 for a service call. No quote was provided before the charge. Nothing was fixed. If someone asks for a quote, they should informed up front if there will be a charge for the quote or before any billable services are performed. read more

After interviewing 8 different pool companies, Sun City finally checked all the boxes! Alex genuinely cares about his customers and doesn't try to upsell everything. I was reluctant at first, since his monthly service fee is about 10% more expensive than the others. Had a couple of issues with my pool heater and the the on/off switch to the spa jets. The company I use for my regular pool service has been slow to respond lately and then kept telling me they would try to take a look at it. After nearly a month of waiting, I researched online for another company. Based upon the reviews, I decided to contact Sun City Pools. So glad I contacted Alex. He responded quickly and we set up an appointment for him to come to my house and investigate the issues. He quickly diagnosed the problems and said he needed to order a couple of parts to replace and would be in touch again once the parts were ready. He called later the same day with the parts and returned and resolved all of the issues. Alex is professional and courteous and took the time to explain the issues with my equipment. He showed up on time and even called ahead to let me know his estimated time - this is helpful, especially if you have a dog running around the backyard, for example.
