Ran across this shop today while waiting for breakfast nearby. I did not know we had a shop like this in Elk Grove. They've been open a few months now. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and we complimented them on how their prices were not marked up like other stores in the area. They said they wanted to keep the pricing the same as south Sacramento. They had things I haven't seen since my childhood and I packed my bin with goodies. I was so excited to see some things that brought back nostalgia for me. They have herbal medicine, snacks, frozen seafood, teas, coffees, and so much more! It is definitely worth a visit. It doesn't hurt that they were very kind as well! Support your local small businesses!

I'm pleased to see Sun Marbo Ginseng finally open in Elk Grove. I have an excellent Chinese soup store selling all the ingredients in Elk Grove now. The store is bustling today on its grand opening day. I hope they are going to be very busy all the time. Nice and friendly people are working here with everything you need for Chinese soup and more.

The berries looked beautiful -- fresh, bright, and exactly what you want when you're making something special and don't want to risk disappointing fruit. Produce quality really does make a difference, especially when it's the star of the dish. I also ended up finding a garlic olive oil I've been looking for, which felt like a bonus win. Nugget is great for those moments when you need something a little more specialty and don't want to drive all over town searching for it. The store was clean, well stocked, and easy to get in and out of, which I always appreciate when I'm just popping in for a few things during a busy day. It's one of those places where you can reliably find quality ingredients whether you're cooking something special or just grabbing everyday groceries. Final verdict: absolutely worth it.

The fresh baked bread here seems to be the best compared to other grocery stores in the area,…read morehowever it costs a lot more. The pugliese bread is my favorite as it is soft, fluffy, and taste delicious! The sourdough is also yummy and has a light airy consistency.  The sandwiches are made with the fresh baked bread and are delicious! Even though the store opens at 6am, the bread is not ready until 8-9am, therefore it is best to order a sandwich a couple hours after the store opens for the optimum selection of bread. I once made the mistake of ordering a sandwich at 7am and was only presented with two bread options: sliced bread or focaccia. I selected the focaccia and although the bread was tasty, it made for a very soft and ultimately soggy sandwich.  There is a large prepared/hot food section that is self-serve. On one occasion while I was selecting a soup to purchase I witnessed an employee wiping up the spilled food from the counter and putting it back into the large food tray. It was absolutely nauseating and I immediately questioned if I should even purchase the soup given the lack of proper food cleanup/handling.  The grocery items cost much more than other grocery stores for the same exact item. Nugget seems to carry a variety of high-quality ingredients and typical well-known brands. The cost of produce and meat is much higher than other grocery stores, although the meat is typically sourced from local farms.  During Thanksgiving Nugget carries a large selection of high quality turkeys. There are a few turkeys that are sourced from local farms that are advertised as natural, antibiotic free, and free range. When purchasing a Turkey for Thanksgiving it is always advised to call and preorder as the high quality turkeys sell out fast.

Right away this one felt a little harder to navigate. At the Land Park store, everything flows really well, especially the drink section where everything is grouped together. Here, it felt more like we were walking around trying to find things, especially the smoothies. It turned into a bit of a "where is it" moment instead of just grabbing what we needed and going. Once we did find everything, the selection was still solid and had what we were looking for, but the layout just didn't feel as intuitive. Helpful tip: If you're coming in for drinks or smoothies, give yourself a few extra minutes to find them since they're not all in one place like other locations....they can be found by the deli and fruit. It's still a good store overall, I just wish the layout was a little more streamlined because it would make quick stops a lot easier

One of my favorite things to pick up here is the fresh water chestnuts -- they're crisp, fresh, and such a difference compared to canned. They also have a great variety of mochi ice cream flavors, which is always fun to browse, and I've been able to find tobiko here as well without any trouble. The selection overall is impressive, especially if you're cooking or want specialty items you won't see everywhere else. The store is well stocked, and it's easy to spend time exploring because there's so much variety. It's one of those places where I usually leave with something I didn't plan on buying -- in a good way. If you're looking for unique ingredients or a wider selection than typical grocery stores, this is definitely worth a visit.

I had asked for a unicorn pull-apart cupcake cake before I feel like those were even really a thing yet, and she absolutely nailed it. It turned out adorable and honestly started our obsession with pull-apart cupcake cakes ever since. They're just so much easier for parties, especially with kids. Everyone can grab their own cupcake without the whole cake-cutting chaos, and I love that there are usually little mini cupcakes worked in as fillers for anyone who just wants a tiny sweet treat. Not only are the desserts cute, but everything we've ordered has always tasted fresh and delicious too, which matters just as much to me as how it looks. One thing I really appreciate is how creative they are with custom orders. I've gone in with ideas before and somehow they always make them come to life even better than I pictured. Helpful tip: If you have a kid birthday party coming up, definitely consider a pull-apart cupcake cake. It makes serving so much easier and the kids absolutely love it. Still one of our favorite local spots for special occasion treats.
