I used to be the biggest fan of this place as a family campground I even called it the best campground in the mid-Atlantic. But this place is in decline. The owners before Sun knew what they were doing. The food used to be decent to good. It's now diner grade and cheap. The bathrooms used to be nearly spotless, now they are dirty. They used to have a great concrete water slide the whole family could use but now they have extreme thrills tube slide that only older kids and teens use. This is the fourth year I have been coming here for the 4th of July week. They are at best 40% occupied vs 75% to full like before. They used to have zip lining but they just stopped it. The place still has great amenities and nice people but every year I come I more disappointed knowing what it used to be before Sun made changes. The place was always pricy but it is now overpriced. We did the zip lining courses here at Frontier town. Found them in the OC coupon book & wanted to do something adventurous...it was wonderful! Definitely worth the $$ no contest. We did 3 courses & it took about 3 hours or so. The courses gradually get harder & harder so its nice to start with the smallest to get used to it...the safety mechanisms are also great bc its pretty much fool proof so u cant mess up & actually fall which is comforting. Its all on u to move throughout the courses not like some other places offering ziplining u are escorted & do nothing except the drops & its over in 10 minutes...Definitely takes up a portion of the day so we would totally do it again!!! This is a cute place! Came here with my girlfriends on vacation for the day. They redesigned the area from last year so everything is contained within the pool area. Food and beverages are within easy access. They have a separate area just to order alcoholic beverages which are yummy on a hot day. They have a lazy river tubing area, a pool area, two tubing slides and a body slide. If you use the body slide I recommend wearing a shirt to prevent embarassing wardrobe malfunctions. There's also a zipline course that's worth trying if you've never attempted anything like that. I haven't stayed in the campground so I can't comment on that. The food is nothing spectacular but honestly you're not there to eat. All in all, worth it for the price and it's not too far from Ocean City. Children would have a great time here. read more

I can't believe they charged full value over Memorial weekend when nothing was open or available. Even had to bring my trash to dumpster that was suppose to be picked up. Rented park model cabin because I wanted a screened-in porch as advertised but mine was so new, the screens weren't up yet. It had old furniture in it. My bed was on a metal frame that squeaked and scared my grandson in the next room thinking we had mice. The couch wouldn't pull out so my son had to sweat in his room with no a/c or fan on a futon mattress. Sand on floors. The bathroom door was shut but you can see a person sitting on the couch. I have camped at frontier town with my kids for over 15 years. It has steadily expanded to make money without upgrading basic camping facilities such as the bathrooms that have had no upgrades since I started going. They have been taken over by sun valley resorts that continues to find ways to make money and raise costs without improving the basic services. Prices are now over $100 saying that the bathrooms are ancient with no control over water temperature. I camp everywhere and this is the most expensive place with the worst bathrooms. Rules simply aren't enforced, especially night activity by crazy golf cart drivers. Safety was always an issue when kids were younger. The worst was the complete lack of following Covid-19 guidelines. They do this ONLY for their staff and not customers, they didn't even have signs to wear masks in enclosed bathrooms and when asked why management stating there was too much backlash. I don't want to get political but I felt Like I was in a Trump village with banners flying and no respect or decency to abiding by their own set guidelines or STATE LAW! Unfortunately Sun Valley has bought up all the campgrounds and obviously does not have any concern for their patrons or the community that surrounds them. Disappointed long-term camper read more

My family was a little disappointed with our long camping weekend. We would have expected a little more precaution would be taken during COVID and while some measures were taken it seemed very crowded and I would say the most disappointing part was the staff and customer service. Very unfriendly and not very informative when you asked questions. There was one nice man and he told us he was new so maybe there is hope. Just left yesterday, let me just say I was blown away by the amazing staff! It was so good to be out during all of this craziness going on in the world today and still see smiling faces. Check In Process: The kindest lady by the name of Bobby Jo checked us in! I told her it was our first stay and any information she could give would be great. She told us all about the resort and was also talking to my autistic non verbal 16 year old whom normally never smiles at a stranger but she had him smiling from ear to ear. She then told us about the wristband policy and without hesitation she seen the worry in my eyes as I did not think my son would want to wear it. She did give us the option of just keeping his with us wherever we went instead of physically putting it on him! But she also asked him if he wanted to wear one he just pointed at her, so she put one on herself first and immediately he smiled she came around the counter and put one on him she shook his hand then gave him a little star that looks like a deputy badge which he now has sitting on his dresser. She explained to me if he wanted to take the band off we could just bring the old one in and they will replace it. Won't you know we have been home for a day and he still has that wristband on and refuses to take it off needless to say I was immediately excited to see how the remainder of our stay was going to be. As the initial welcome was nothing short of fantastic. Camp Store: They have everything you might need and they are reasonable price wise also. The staff at the store were friendly and courteous. If you visit you MUST try the Shrimp Salad! Water Park: My son loved it! We rented a cabana and it was the best $80 I spent, the waitress was great a little bit of a wait between getting our drinks and food but it was more than understandable being how busy she was! Bath Houses: GREAT, they were clean and the water was just right. I will say our last night we went to take a shower around 11pm and the door was locked, I figured they must be inside cleaning so I waited a few minutes and after about 15 minutes a lady came out and said sorry I locked the door from the inside so I could shower in peace. This to me was so selfish so I may consider taking the locks off the inside or at least making it where only employees have access to lock the doors. We did not utilize the Western Park as I didn't think my son could handle all of the gun fire without having a melt down. But from what I have heard they are also entertaining for kids of all ages. The only negative was not being able to get a golf cart as this campground is huge, I spoke with the manager at the front office about getting one and she explained why they were not able to rent them. I understood completely. She was also super nice FrontierTown you now have a life long guest, we already booked for the next 2 years! read more

This review is for the campgrounds only. We were here during the off season and didn't have a chance to experience the water park. We were in the area to visit Assateague Island. I looked for nearby options and Frontier Town looked suitable. This was our first time car camping, so I can't really compare it to anything. Still, here are my impressions... Good- Lots of space. The campgrounds are quite large. There is a playground, pier, and several walking trails. It is pretty easy to get lost wandering around, especially at night. Clean bathrooms. Pretty close to spotless. Even during my 4AM bathroom run they were in immaculate condition. Decent prices at the general store. Not exactly department/chain store prices, but you don't pay through the nose for convenience either. Added bonus, hot food is available. Friendly staff. Being our first outing, we had no idea what to expect. This was probably pretty apparent, but everyone we met was willing to help with any questions. Stars- You are WAY out in the country, so when it finally gets dark, you can see many more stars than in the city. It's nice to appreciate things like this during a vacation. Bad- There are planned activities many nights. I contacted the campgrounds ahead of time and was told there would be ice cream for breakfast and flashlight trick or treat during our stay. My 6 year old was extremely excited. Imagine his disappointment when we arrived to find out that the flash light hunt was the night before and ice cream for breakfast was that morning. It definitely put a damper on our stay. In the rules they say not to bring outside firewood. We abided by that and bought ours from the general store (despite passing several piles on the way there). It was stored in a bin under a roof. We tried lighting that wood for seriously 3 hours. My wife even took a return trip to the store and bought a fire starter but still no luck. We eventually burned some of the dead brush at our campsite to maintain a small fire, but the wood we bought simply would not catch. Charred, yes. Burned, no. We surmised that it somehow got wet while in the container. $10 wasted ($12 if you consider the firestarter). Fully reserved, this place would be cramped. While it the area in general is large, the camping spaces are not. Several other reviewers mention this fact. As luck would have it, there were fireworks over the ocean. This would have been cool to watch, but we were all dead asleep when they were exploding. I don't think this was camp sponsored, but it is something to keep in mind. read more

THIS IS ONLY FOR THE WATERPARK NOTE : GET THERE EARLY fills up quickly Hours 10am-6pm (they let us in early 9:45am) 42" tall to ride the slides no diapers swimmers only no glass bottles no alcohol Your bags are checked for these things at the main gate so do not bring them!!! As you walk in the 3 main slides are to the right then you come to the main pool which is only 1 ft 3in deep everyone hangs out there kids,children,adults,seniors. There are lounge chairs everywhere and a pavilion with picnic tables at the end is the lazy river and 2 more slides.from 10-11 its nice but after that it is a mad house so crowded you can't hardly move the line are long and the pool is full and the lazy river looks like rush hour in the city....lol oh and a pointer bring your own food because the snack bar even though the food was good is run by a bunch of monkeys yelling and throwing your food out the Windows you have no idea if the food is for you or for the people standing around with you .......so I give the park 5 stars for being fun it's not their fault it's busy but the snack bar gets 2 stars for being disorganized total average 4.5 stars read more

Frontiertown you stole our hearts from the first time hubby and I went with the whole family vacationing there 2 times a year for over 10 years now; always off season! Everything you could want to enjoy a great vacation and memories to last a lifetime. The views, access to boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, incredible nature to enjoy (those gorgeous egrets and herons), the sound of the ocean in the evenings and awesome sunrises over the Bay. My favorite go to place besides Assateague to fill my passion for photography. Everyone there has always been so awesome to us; its like family! Just stayed for a Halloween weekend. Campers are packed in tight. The golf carts are out of control. Driving too fast and I saw many being operated by underage drivers with no adults at all. During the trick or treAt time the roads were gridlocked with golf carts. There was barely room for people to walk. I was afraid a little kid was going to get hit. At Yogi Bear where we usually do our Halloween camping trip, they don't allow golf carts to operate during the trick or treat times. They should adopt this policy here too! read more

Fatastic campground. Been coming here for years. Unfortunately our site was near the dumpster so it was really loud early in the am when they emptied them. Everyone at the campground are helpful. The water park is great. Cudo to whoever came up with the idea for the new tubes for the lazy river. Easier to get on them. Only complaint I have is they allow people to take them to their seats when they get out. Several times there were no tubes available and people had 2 - 4 at their seats. Water park is included with our camping fee. Great bargain. My grandson loves the train at the wild west show. He rides it many times. Good show for the family. read more

My son and I spent four days there camping. It was our first time there. LOVED IT! The waterpark was awesome! If you stay there they will shuttle you to ocean city and Assateague. Looking forward to returning next summer. If you like to camp and enjoy the beach and family atmosphere, Frontier Town is the place to go. Prices pretty reasonable. Although the camp store is kind of expensive on some things, but there is a Food Lion a few minutes away. read more

Came here with my sister-in-law and nephews. She had been as a child, but I never had. We only did the historic town, not the water park, as it was a cool day. We had a good time, and the nephews loved protecting the gold on the train and stage coach. The shows we saw were pretty good, too. Just remember to have cash handy, as there are lots of little things within the park that are cash only. read more

TERRIBLE! We went there with a very large group with 7 kids and 6 adults. (The water park) We weren't staying on the campgrounds just looking for something to do. We all regret our decision to come there terribly. The water park was small and dirty. The slides had brown marks everywhere on them. Pieces of chewed gum and trash were all around the park. The lazy river was small and had a tint of yellow to the water. The slides had a lingering smell of fish oil and a dumpster. The worst part of all is that my daughter and I went to the bathroom and we were cutting through the baby/toddler pool and staff yelled at us to get out so we did and asked why, they told us that a kid had an accident (poop)in the pool. We sat down at our table and ten minutes later the pool was open. The adults told our kids to stay out of that pool and that left us with a very upset 4 year old who couldn't do much more. After that incident we decided to go on the big waterslide, the pool where you land was filthy, bugs, dirt and the bottom covered in sand. I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever! read more

We have stayed at frontier town for about 6 years now..its one of our favorites. However, they need to do something about the water park..jammed packed with people cause they allow outsiders not staying there in as well. The campers themselves have to get up to the park right when it opens and stand in line and not even get a chair! The lazy river is so packed with people u cant even move. Now they are adding another 130 or so sites! I have no other complaints but when I have twins with me and they wait 45 min to ride a slide its a bit absurd. Something has to be done..either allow others in on certain days or allow campers to go in first I'm not sure but we only went to the water park once thru the whole week because it was so overcrowded instead we went to jolly rogers and paid 150 for the water park. read more

Great water park for the kids. Lot of kids driving golf carts illegally. The nicest part of the RV resort is JJ section or Bay front. Very few bugs and flies. Sites are very close. 50 amp service was giving only 40 amps, 109 volts. WiFi was ok. Front desk personnel were pleasant. read more

We have been coming back to the campground for years. It is the best we have been to, perhaps except for the Walt Disney campground which is a pretty high bar. This place has a well stocked store, golf cart rentals, very nice dog park, clean bath houses,etc. Wifi and cell coverage present but not so good/fast. Reserve golf cart early if you want one. We were disappointed the first year as they were sold out. Highly recommended. read more

More than the simple mini-golf beach par 2 every hole course. It features 6 par 3 holes but towards the back 9, the holes become very difficult. What makes it so nice is the price of $4 a person and not too crowded. Fun course, good value but difficult. read more

We visited for the first time this week and I was disappointed with the park and the staff. Customer service with anyone from attendants to life guards was poor. We paid for the combo to do everything but were not told that do to heat there would be no carriage rides or pony rides. The train was broke and not running. Then the water park bathhouse was disgusting. The kids water area water was so hot it was not enjoyable at all. The lazy river was so crowded you couldn't enjoy it. Then we were herded like cattle out at 5:30 and the attendant had already cleaned and closed the bathroom. For the ticket price we should get better service or a longer attempt with everything because we went to do the round of golf we paid for and it closed at 6 also. Myself and my family will never return to Frontier Town Campground ever again. The total lack of respect and complete disregard for others around you was prominent all weekend. Nothing but drunk adults trying to act like children. Children that were consuming alcohol and driving around in golf carts all weekend. That's right and if the campground tries to deny it tell me a little story about the 14 year old that was found drunk within the Haunted Forest Area whose parents were also drunk back at their campsite on the c row.. we heard golf carts drag racing down the rows well into the midnight Realm.. loud music and inappropriate behavior was everywhere.. there was absolutely no control in the campground whatsoever.. it was just an absolute miserable time for myself and my family never again will we step foot in that Campground... we will just stick with going to Assateague where if you have a problem you simply call a ranger someone with an actual real badge shows up and confronts the problem.. What a waste of a $150... Never ever again. read more

We came down from PA for a 4 day trip. We were thrilled from the start finding out they offer buy 2 get 1 free military discount! Check in was very quick and easy. The water park, pool and mini golf are all included in the price of your camp site. We rented a Bare Bones Cabin. It was plenty of room for our family of 4. The campsite had a charcoal grill and a fire pit! Over all the entire campground was well kept and clean! Not many garbage cans around which had its pros and cons. We were kind of disappointed to find there were no wash stations for dishes. Ended up washing our dishes in the bathroom sinks. The bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of bathrooms to use throughout the park. They offered activities throughout the day. The Water Park was really fun! They also have a pool that stays open until 8:00. The camp ground is located very close to Assateague and very close to Ocean City. They offer a shuttle to both locations! We did have a crappy experience at the High Ropes course. Spoke to the people at the check in desk who were very prompt with getting the appropriate staff involved to help me. The situation was handled very well! We stayed for 4 days and could have easily used another day to do everything we wanted to do! Water park is nice but small. It's $14 per person for the day which is good, however, it gets very crowded as anyone using the campgrounds get in free. Tubes become a premium as people hold onto them. Not a lot of umbrellas and there's not a lot of shade in the park so be prepared.... The mini-golf is included which is nice. The course is laid out very nicely. However, it is not well maintained at all which is a shane because it could be a really great course! The man made pond was covered in algae which I understand, it there was a lot of trash in there as well. Some people are slobs but that comes with the territory and if you operate a park, you need to clean up after them! Overall, we all felt we got $14 of value. read more

Truly disappointed. Checked website and it stated $121 a night. Wife made reservations, paid and didn't notice till after we stayed that we were charged $133.10 a night. Called to get refund and was told they don't need to honor advertised prices and would not give us a refund. I WAS GOING TO BOOK 7 NIGHTS IN AUGUST, but they told me it would be $145.10 a night... sorry Frontier Town but after doing business with you folk for over 20 years I will go somewhere else. When you advertise a price and don't honor it because you want more, that is considered false advertising. It saddening to know that a once family owned family business is being destroyed corporate greed. For the folks that have been going to frontier town for the last 20 years like myself understand price increases but when you charge more than a published rate just because you can, well, that's basically a kick to the balls. It says, yes you might have stayed with us for 20 years but we dont really care since your money is more important. Let's touch on another point, your coupons suck. You send me a coupon for, stay two nights, get one free. Isn't it funny that you would leave Frontier Town out of one of the places that it could be used at. So because of your new pricing structure I will be staying at another campground for fall Sunfest. Oh and let talk about your pricing structure for 3 nights, from Sept 20 til 23. Your published rates for those dates is $69 a night for full hook up but your online reservation system tells me it will cost me $321.90 for 3 nights! Really? $107.30 a night? Sorry but I will be staying at another campground for $50 a night that is published and honored. All I can say is your deceptive practices will eventually destroy future income. You have lost mine, my family, my friends and everyone else that will see the hand you deal. read more

Save your white privileged souls and go to Castaways campground instead. This devil worshiping place has golf carts and screaming teenagers up all hours of the night. Really... Do you ever calm the f*ck down. I'm also not trying to go to a shitty waterpark with OVERPRICED food cooked by sweating teenagers who are snotty. The "restaurant" is no better, the clearly frozen then fried food is repulsive and unconsumable. Does the general public really pay $14 dollars to come to this monstrosity??-sad. And the whole "stay in a tube rule" had to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.... Is it because the lifeguards are too busy worrying about their tan and where the next party is to be able to save someone from drowning? The western theme is not all that either, sure it's fun for an hour if any of the minimal attractions are running. The crowded and hot show is maybe the highlight. But just thinking about how much I paid for that old stale frozen food crushes any fun I might have had. Their may be some suspicious money financial situation that needs to be looked into going on here. My mind is just blown away at the astonishing prices from the dull tasteless food to the lifeless waterpark and workers. I will be taking my business elsewhere. the mini golf at frontier town is an okay spot. yoy basically get what you pay for. a customer pays $4 per person for roughly 16 holes. the holes are pretty simple and not too hard. the lady at the front desk was really nice. its on okay spot for those looking to relax. read more
