The servers were mean. The seaweed smell ruined the experience and the wifi you had to pay for did not work

The floor looked like it hasn't been mopped in a long time. The Ac was reading 77/78 even though it was set for 72. The tv and the phone was not working. I called the front desk and was told a manager would contact me, never did. Had to go to the lobby and wait for a manager. He changed our room to a hotel room (no kitchen) in which he acted like he was doing us a favor. If we wanted to book that room(which we have in the past) without a child we would have done so. The one they offered didn't have a kitchen so we can't use our counter top high chair , cook food etc. The bathtub is outside in which a pigeon has made a nest in and there is bird poop inside the bathtub. I notified the front desk in which they don't seem to care. They got rid of the nest but the pigeon is still there and the poop. I have been coming here since I was young and man this place has turned sooo Ghetto. A employee mentioned to me that like people like myself expects Cheeca to be what it once was and it's not. No, I expect the AC to be working in July or any month for that matter. Reasonable clean place, basic things like tv and phone to be working. I don't think that is so much to ask. Hopefully the owners of Bass Pro will turn it around because it is evident the current owners/management had let this place go.

We recently stayed at Sunset Inn in Islamorada and had a mixed experience. On the positive side,…read morethe room was clean and well-maintained, and the check-in process was very smooth and hassle-free, which we appreciated after a long day of travel. However, we felt that the property is quite highly priced for what it offers. Unfortunately, our comfort was affected by a few issues in the room--the bed made noticeable noise even with slight movement, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, the air conditioner was quite loud, adding to the disturbance. Overall, while the cleanliness and easy check-in were definite positives, the noise issues and pricing did not quite match our expectations.

Well known and respected member of the community, the Sunset Inn was an interesting stay…read more Easy with check-in, parking was a breeze, and the unit was accessible to physically challenged. The hotel itself was very clean, and the room looked like it was recently remodeled. The bed had a European style bottom on it where I kept hitting my ankle and toes. The mattress was kind of soft, but the pillows were really nice and comfortable. The bathroom looked rather old, and the shower itself didn't have a door on it. So you risk getting water onto the bathroom on the floor when you're just taking a normal shower. I liked the rear room door which led to the pool area. The pool was a saltwater type and very inviting. This was a major plus for this Inn. Get the towels from the front office and pick a nice spot around the pool. This area really was well done Shopping is a breeze with the Publix grocery store just one mile south. Many great choices for restaurants are all within 2 miles. There are no places to cook inside the unit, but there is a microwave outback in case you wanna warm something. A small refrigerator is provided along with a coffee maker and Keurig coffee pods. Try not to book a room facing the street, as it gets rather noisy at night. Also, foot traffic during was rather loud up until midnight. There is a great value in staying here as the price for rooms are very reasonable. I think I paid $136 for the night. The two women at check-in were very polite and attentive to my needs. Questions were answered, I think I would stay here again if I didn't have a room up against the highway. Be sure to inquire first.

Check in was quick, and very friendly with recommendations. Our room was on the second floor again, this time an ocean front and wow - it's worth it. We had the courtyard view last time and it's also a very pretty view - you can't lose. The pool area and bar is so wonderful - very scenic, and the service at the bar is great. They have a great menu for lunch options that they bring out to you. The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. You can request a microwave if you need too! There are bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks for rental for free. Lots of things going on in between the three resorts - we wish we'd had a chance to try the yoga! We will be back for years to come.

After 3 days my wife had to threaten the front desk staff with using towels to wipe her ass if the maids didn't restock the toilet paper in our room. Totally unacceptable for a resort. They kept assuring us the rooms service maids were coming in daily, but they never did until she threatened to come down and make a scene. The staff seemed unmotivated to complete even the basic cleaning tasks. We only asked for two coffee k cups, clean towels and the two room garbage cans to be emptied on a daily basis. That was just too demanding and the staff tried to mean-mug us when we came and went but finally got it done for the final two days of our visit. I'd advise you visit another property because the service is nonexistent and a total disappointment. Their on site restaurant was a joke as well. Completely overpriced and out of touch given the location. Every other restaurant we visited in the area was excellent, but theirs was almost always empty. The menu was way overpriced and there were countless local options that were much better and less expensive. Nearly all the staff on site see to be unwilling to provide service to customers and displaying a shitty attitude overall. Leadership changes need to take place or this property will crumble. Good location, just bad service with inadequate leadership supervision.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

I loved the great variety and alcohol free beverages. I appreciated the adult only pool as well as the happy vibe of the family pool. The world soccer cup was going on and the excitement could be felt in the on-site bar. The hammocks, the chairs in the water, the beautiful views and rooms, the grounds, beautiful. I loved the fun free E bike and used it every day. I was disappointed only by the fact that you couldn't take the kayaks and the paddle boards out into the ocean and wish that had been advertised better, but that would be my only even slightly negative of this fabulous experience. I wanted to do a shout out to again to Rochelle and Natalie for the care. They took when my fridge malfunctioned and ruined my items in the fridge to go above and beyond and replacing them. I did the paint night as well and loved connecting with other guests, while laughing about our lack of artistic ability. The teacher did a great job of making everyone feel comfortable and confident. I can truly say if I return tequila Largo, this would be where I would stay every time

This resort did not live up to its "exclusive" reputation. The property is entirely non-smoking,…read morewhich was not clearly disclosed at check-in, and there is no designated smoking area at all. The tiki bar does not have a liquor license ( margarita was made with wine), and the food was subpar for the price point (delivered to you in to go containers only with plastic forks). The atmosphere felt chaotic with children running and screaming throughout the property, yet staff were quick to police adults - even interrupting us for quietly playing cards on our own balcony after 7pm. Water sports were another frustration: staff were unfriendly, offered no guidance, and only appeared to yell at guests for touching equipment without a waiver, rather than having someone present to assist when guests of any kind are on the beach. Nothing on the property is open past 7pm, and guests are pushed out of the hot tub before 9pm. Overall, the experience felt overly restrictive, poorly communicated, and not worth the cost. We will not return. I recommend if you are going to spend THAT much money on a property in the keys, book your stay literally anywhere else. This is especially true for this place as its entrance isn't even on the highway. Coming through the gates you enter your own special quiet world. I had the pleasure of staying in one of the villas and outside of the stairs just to get off the ground floor, and never mind to your bedroom, the place was gorgeous. (Yes, I know this is Florida, it is the coast, and you don't want to have living space on the ground floors) Otherwise, everything was quiet in November. Few people at the pools, almost no one at the beach, and even fewer at the bar. The bar doesn't serve hard liquor (since it doesn't have that kind of license), but it has a good selection of other drinks and some interesting mixes to get around the limitations -- like a sake piña colada. Only staying for a few days and looking for more quiet than adventure I did not take advantage of any water sports or other activities. The "beach" here is okay, but it is the Keys. I don't think you are coming here for world-class beach access.
