When we arrived, we were welcomed in the lobby with a glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch. I also liked that valet parking is included in the hotel fee. You can simply drop off your car keys, and the staff will park your car for you. Self-parking is also available if you prefer. One of my favorite areas was the fireplace in the front ocean-view area. At night, there was live music, making it a wonderful place to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. The resort has a lot to offer, including oceanfront family pools, an adult relaxation pool, a swimming beach with loungers, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods and reels, and a beautiful 525-foot fishing pier for catch-and-release fishing. There is also a 9 hole executive golf course, tennis courts, pickleball courts, sports courts, and beach cruiser bicycles. Families can enjoy the kids' game room and Camp Cheeca, which provide fun activities for children. Adults can relax at the full-service spa, fitness center, sunrise yoga classes, and water aerobics. The resort also offers Wi-Fi, concierge service, in-room coffee and tea, bottled water, EV charging stations, and shuttle service within 2 miles. Some areas of the resort could use a little restoration. For example, the jacuzzi next to the family pool looked like it needed some maintenance. We also noticed a slight seaweed smell near the beach, but this may be normal during the high season and can depend on the weather and ocean conditions. On our first day, we ate at Nikai, the resort's sushi restaurant. Guests can sit outside and enjoy the view, which I really liked. There is also indoor seating, but the restaurant is fairly small. We ordered the Salmon Aburi, Dragon Roll, and Matsuri Roll. The outdoor seating was definitely my favorite because we could enjoy our food and drinks while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Cheeca Lodge has several dining options besides sushi. Atlantic's Edge offers oceanfront dining with beautiful views and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mia Cucina serves Italian style dishes in a relaxed setting. Tiki Bar and 25South are great places for drinks, snacks, and casual meals. Guests can also visit Morada Bay Beach Café for a relaxed beachside dining experience. Pierre's is another popular nearby restaurant, known for its elegant atmosphere and beautiful waterfront setting. At night, the front ocean view fireplace area with live music is a great place to enjoy a drink after dinner. The combination of the fire, ocean view, and music creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Having so many restaurants and dining choices nearby makes the resort very convenient. You can enjoy sushi, Italian food, casual drinks, beachside meals, or a more elegant dinner without traveling far. The resort has a beautiful Florida Keys atmosphere and offers plenty of activities for both adults and families. I especially liked having so many options in one place, including the beach, pools, water activities, fishing, golf, tennis, pickleball, spa, restaurants, live music, and our comfortable ocean-view room with a fireplace. It is a great place to relax, enjoy the water, dine, and have everything conveniently located at the resort. The champagne welcome, included valet parking, ocean views, fireplace, and live music were also nice extra touches. Although a few areas need a little restoration and there was a slight seaweed smell during the high season, these issues did not ruin our stay. I would definitely recommend Cheeca Lodge & Spa if you are planning a trip to the Florida Keys and want a resort with plenty of amenities, beautiful views, comfortable rooms, great dining options, and a relaxing atmosphere.

One of the best things about Cheeca Lodge is that there's truly something for everyone. We loved that we could paddleboard, kayak, ride bikes, fish off the iconic pier, relax by one of the three beautiful oceanfront pools, or simply enjoy the incredible views. There's even complimentary golf, which we didn't have time to take advantage of this trip. Our lagoon-view room was beautiful, peaceful, and impeccably maintained. The entire property is stunning, secure with gated entry, and offers complimentary parking throughout your stay. We also had an amazing experience at Mia Cucina, the Italian restaurant on site. The food was excellent, but what really stood out was the staff. The chefs were so kind and welcoming to our kids, making dinner feel extra special. First off, the B&B is one of a kind. Thorn has assembled an incredible array of artifacts from her travels around the world, everything from original Tiffany lamps to Balinese furniture to Vegas showgirl outfits. It's like your grandma's house, if you had the world's coolest grandma. Be sure to poke around the main house and ask to see the other rooms, if they're unoccupied. The caretakers will be happy to oblige, and they know plenty of stories behind the objects. Back to the Secret Garden Room. The pictures on the website do it justice. That headboard is incredible. The walls are all almost all glass, opening to let in the fresh Florida air. It's very secluded from the rest of the house, with a private patio for breakfast. The semi-outdoor shower is fun but does tend to get the bathroom floor very wet. The fridge is handy if you visit the local restaurants and have leftovers (you will). The breakfasts were good, and it was nice to enjoy them privately. The caretakers schedule a time tor coffee service, and give you about a half hour to sip it and relax before bringing breakfast. The caretakers will give you a pass to the town beach, which is about 15 minute walk, and is a quiet alternative to any of the busy public beaches on the Keys. The house features a small unheated pool, but it didn't get much action in February. (We used it happily, as the temperature was about as good as it gets in Boston.) It also has a small roof deck, though we didn't spend much time there.

The check in process was easy and escorted to the room by an office staff member. Luckily, we got an early check in at 1:40pm since it's not scheduled until 4:00pm. That seems too late in the day to arrive and get settled. The room was hot upon entering so we turned on the AC right away. I felt the room should have been cooler, especially since we had reservations and staff knew we would be arriving. The room was nice and the full size refrigerator was convenient. However, the room could have easily fit two king size beds instead of two queen size beds. Ample towels were provided, including towels for the pool. Ice trays were empty and I feel this is something that could have been filled up while the room was being cleaned. Kitchen allowed recycling and trash to be sorted so that's a plus! There's one light to control the two rooms of the bathroom which means turning it on at night lights up the entire section of the room and not just a small light for the toilet area. The bathroom did NOT have a hairdryer (even though it was listed as being included in the room) and unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after a shower late at night. I ended up going to bed with wet hair. A tiny size shampoo (smaller than a travel size) was given but a travel size conditioner wasn't available. The room was lacking an ironing board and iron. The TV wouldn't turn on--the screen kept saying use remote to press for input 3 but it never worked. No WiFi code was provided. The office closed at 5:00pm and I wasn't about to call the after hours line since that would mean someone would have to come to the room and look at the TV late at night. I wasn't comfortable with that scenario. It shouldn't be that difficult to turn on the TV. There was only one outlet between both beds and the plug I chose to charge my phone didn't work and this wasn't realized until the morning. Good thing I wasn't relying on my phone for an alarm. This also meant other forms of technology were charging on the floor, out of reach. Given the fact the TV wouldn't turn on, I couldn't just fell asleep watching TV, even on my iPad since the device wouldn't be charged for the way home. Upon arrival, we noticed several ants in the kitchen and bathroom counter. Later in the evening, we noticed an increased number of ants. Not a big deal until the ants ended up in two toiletries bags and everything had to be dumped and cleaned out. It's the little things that make a big difference and I felt Ragged Edge was lacking in some areas, especially given the cost for less than a 24 hour stay. In addition, I would have to pack the items that were said to be available in the room since I definitely need a hairdryer. Obviously, I would have to go without an iron and iron board. Given the location and comparable price for this time of year, I would most likely stay here again but would make sure the TV worked and WiFi passcode was given for our unit at check in.

We chose to rent and drive from the airport because we had a trip to Key West planned. It's about a 90 minute drive from the airport so, an Uber would have been pretty costly. The valet takes care of your luggage and places it on a golf cart while you check in. The check in process took about 10 min. The front desk staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. They are supposed to offer you a drink, but we were not offered one by our receptionist while the couple next to us were offered one. No biggie. One thing to note: when you book, 50% is due. Then the other 50% is due thirty days prior to your arrival if you switch your source of payment, they charge you 10%. That same card has do be used for gratuity or add ons. Keep this in mind when you plan. Also, they put a $100/day hold on your card when you check in. After check in, the valet takes you on a tour of the property and then brings you to your room. You'll want to have cash for gratuity for the valet. The Bungalows themselves are gorgeous and offer an outdoor area and outdoor shower. I don't think the beach view bungalows are worth the upgrade. After that, you're on your own for the most part. They schedule your dinner, but other than Bogie and Bacall, they are pretty flexible. Fish Tales is the main restaurant. They offer a four course meal. The food was great. I wouldn't say "amazing" but really well done. The service is impeccable. This is an all inclusive bur gratuity isn't included. This was annoying and probably my biggest complaint. At the end of your meal you are handed a check of all you consumed with a recommend range of gratuity. You put in what you want to leave and sign it and leave. The issue is, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending. So if you're on a budget, that can be a problem. At night everyone gathers around the tiki bar to enjoy the entertainment. There is only one bad and it fills quickly. The bartenders are also filling drink orders for the pool, and in some situations, Sea Seniors next door. You can also order food at the tiki bar if you choose. It's basic bar food and pizza but quite delicious. There is live entertainment daily from 11-11. There was trivia one night, and karaoke another. But there were no real events offered. In the mornings everyone heads to Fishtales for breakfast. There is a good variety of choices, including a buffet. They do not change it up at all though. So it can get a little boring day after day. They also have a mimosa and bloody Mary self serve bar. Pro tip, bring your own yeti and take two plastic cups of minosa and some ice and put them in your yeti for the pool. There are no drinks served until 11 am at the pool which was pretty odd in my opinion. The tiki bar also doesn't open until 11. It was off season but I will say that the pool didn't really get busy. There are two pools. Ok is a zen pool with little cabana beds. It's more quiet there but the main pool was described as the party pool and he was really chill too. There are about 12 pairs of lounge chairs and umbrellas and two big cabanas with couches. It didn't seem like there would be enough but it ended up to be plenty. We w They have servers come around the pool but it takes quite a bit to get your drinks so pack your patience. They also give you a bill at the end with what you ordered and suggested gratuity. It was easy to forget and just leave so I hated this process. I would have rather been charged a daily gratuity to be split between the staff but that's not what they want to do. Bogie and Bacalls: you get a free night there if you stay for more than 4 days. If you don't it's $300 plus gratuity. This was their high end restaurant and it wand spectacular! You get a ton of food and premium drinks. Expect to tip about $100 here. There is an indoor bar/speakeasy called Hemingways. This is not included in your stay. It's premium cocktails and liquor. There is also the "Family Room" which is a giant indoor/outdoor game room. There are no servers there. If you have a yeti, you could grab a few drinks from the tiki bar and keep it cold. There is a huge TV so we were able to watch the USA game on it with a few other guests. I chose to get a massage. It's a beautiful area of the park but there's no way that 50 min massage was worth $300 + 22% gratuity. They offer water activities. No one was using them. There are some other ads ons but very few guests chose to do them. Overall this is a wonderful, very chill spot and I can see why many guest come back year after year. I wish there were more dining and bar options, and more events offered. The cost was pretty high for what they offer. But we had an amazing time and I'm so glad we did it!
