Great location in the Florida Keys. New to transient campers. Enjoyed the neighborhood style community. Staff are fantastic. Like any location in the Keys space is tight. This location has height and length restrictions. Sites are plenty wide and clean. Cable TV is not plug and play. To receive television you need to get a receiver from the office. The facilities are modern and updated. This location does has a pool, grilling station, two tiki huts, and a marina.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This rating is not because of the facilities or the campground…read moreitself--it is entirely because of the way this situation was handled and the way my family was treated by the management. After nearly four years of visiting Jolly Roger RV Resort in Marathon and spending much of our summers there, I never imagined our experience would end this way. We truly loved this place. Our daughters grew up coming here, made great friends, and created wonderful memories. That is exactly why the way we were treated by the management was so disappointing. After the incident, our conversation regarding our permanent removal from the resort was handled directly by the park manager, Angie. Unfortunately, that conversation left us feeling unheard, unfairly judged, and with the impression that no consideration was given to our years as respectful, responsible guests. During the Fourth of July weekend, when the campground was extremely busy, several children were playing at the dock. As they had done during previous summers, some of them were jumping from the boat ramp into the water. I was the only parent present supervising the children who were with me. An employee came by and asked for the lot numbers of the families there. I was the only person who honestly and responsibly provided our lot number. The following day, I received a phone call from the park manager informing us that we had been permanently banned from the RV park. What hurt the most was not the decision itself, but the way the entire situation was handled. We were never given a meaningful opportunity to explain our side of the story, nor did anyone consider that, throughout all the years we had been coming here, we had never had a single complaint or incident. In addition, we were held responsible for situations that did not involve our family and that, from our perspective, were simply not true. It felt as though decisions were made based on assumptions rather than a fair evaluation of the facts or our long history as respectful guests. I was also surprised that there were no clear signs stating that children were not allowed to jump from that area. The posted signs referred to swimming at your own risk and under adult supervision, so we had no reason to believe that this behavior would result in a permanent ban. The saddest part was feeling as though we were treated like troublemakers or criminals when we have always been a respectful, responsible family that has taken care of both our children and the property. I can only speak about our own experience, but it ended with tremendous disappointment. More than the decision itself, it was the lack of empathy, respect, and willingness to listen that caused us to completely lose confidence in the management. We left heartbroken, especially for our daughters, who loved this place and were looking forward to spending the rest of the summer there. It is unfortunate that so many years of wonderful memories ended because of a situation that, in our opinion, could have been handled with communication, fairness, and basic respect. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how they treat families and handle situations like this. A great RV park is defined not only by its facilities, but also by the fairness, professionalism, and humanity with which it treats its guests.

She was loud rude and refused to let me tell her what I was told when I made my reservation. Additionally, when I told her you won't let me tell you what I was told she said your reservation is canceled and hung up on me. I immediately received an email saying my reservation was cancelled. I think she did it purposely because my rate was $80.00 per day as I booked months in advance and they now charge $138.00 per night. I have stayed at a lot of rv parks and this was the worst experience I ever had with a staff member! I would avoid this RV park for sure! Beware of Jolly Roger's!

We've been coming to the Keys over the Thanksgiving Holiday for a number of years and until now have stayed a little north of Grassy Key or in Key West but decided to stay and explore the middle keys this year so we could enjoy more of the Florida Keys with less daily travel. We arrived prior to the requested time and check in was so easy, the staff escorted us to our site and ensured everything was perfect before leaving us to finishing setting up camp. The park was only about half filled upon our arrival and as campers left and others arrived it never got crowded and remained about half filled throughout out stay - this made for a very peaceful stay and very private we stayed at site 10 and had no neighbors until the afternoon before we left. The grounds here are very well maintained, beautifully landscaped with very good utilities, we had no issues - the view of the Gulf through the front window of our RV was stunning, as were the views from the park like setting along the sea wall. If your traveling here from the north its the first driveway on the right prior to their sign making it an easy entrance while they try and maintain a one way loop in and out. We were fortunate to attend the potluck Thanksgiving dinner hosted in the clubhouse, they provided fried and roasted turkeys and some side dishes and everyone brought a dish as well it was a wonderful and thoughtful gathering I highly recommend participating if your visiting during the holidays. This is definitely an experience we hope to repeat in the coming years, this is such a beautiful RV Park with a well thought out layout that doesn't put everyone on top of each other making for a wonderful experience for everyone...

We started on the bike trail along the busy highway, then turned into the park. At the guard house, the nicest ranger asked us to come in while he waited on a car driving through. He was so pleasant and caring about having water, giving us directions, etc. I am so sorry I didn't get his name. if you are walking or cycling, it is $2.50 per person. We met another ranger who was maintaining the restroom down by the shore and he was friendly, too! Walking down, there are mangroves on each side. Then you see the shore. They have done such a great job carving out little areas for people to sit or eat, etc. We were very impressed with that. There was no litter and the restroom was also very clean. Highly recommend if you need a break going to or coming from Key West. It is also great if you are staying nearby.

This review is specifically about the PRICING policy for campgrounds in Florida State Parks…read more Camping in the Keys is a popular activity, and it's difficult to find availability. We were thrilled to find that Long Key had a site available for the March date that we needed. Our preference would have been for a site for a Class B RV, but we were willing to accept the only site available, a tent-only site. Our reservation for the site was quite expensive ($34.51) for a tent-only site in a public park, without hookups. The fees in Florida state parks really add up. The site itself was "only" $22.50, but there's also a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee and an assortment of taxes that totaled $5.31. Unfortunately, due to wildfires near Homestead, FL, we needed to reschedule our trip into the Keys, which also involved cancelling our reservation at Long Key. Of our initial outlay of $34.51, our refund was only for $10 and some change. There was a $17-something cancellation fee, and the initial reservation fee was non-refundable. Of the $10+ returned, over $5 of this was the sales taxes.
