Nice quiet place to stay. The staff were very professional and helpful. There was a wildfire north of us and the roads leading out were closed. The staff explained how the state officials usually handle the road closures. But offered to extend our stay if necessary. We took their advice and made it back on to the mainland with only a short wait and detour. Thank you for the great vacation , we are looking forward to staying again.

How anyone can rate this wonderful gem less than five stars is questionable to me. The place is beautiful, private, well-kept, well cleaned, right on the Bay -come out of your RV, wake up to a gorgeous view ..soak in the sunshine on your own beach, corn hole, beach games heated pool laundry room friendly staff (including the old man and the awesome guy who helped us park and the ladies and gentlemen constantly cleaning and maintaining the grounds) It has 2 small small areas for the dogs to go potty, yes the roads are gravel, but my low riser doxies had no issues. I'm not sure what else you need in paradise! Oh, you have a boat, well they have their own private dock, for a small fee park your boat overnight, and enjoy the wonderful state, this is Florida. The location on Marathon is perfect, center of the keys, 20 to 30 minutes to Islamorada, 1 to 1 1/2 hours to Key West. Many things to do on the island of marathon. Just don't take my RV spot ;)

The peaceful evening view from our RV site (#5).

This is a charming RV resort offering lovely surroundings and amenities that make for plenty of outdoor R'n'R opportunities. We loved pulling into our waterfront site and finding two comfy lounge chairs already in place and just begging to be kicked back in. The dock area is a focal point for chilling out and watching the ocean world go by, especially if you take advantage of the resort's Adirondack chair deck. Grassy Key may be a small, intimate resort, but that's part of what we enjoy about it. The place is peaceful and the perfect spot to be on Florida Keys' time. There's a bit of road noise during the day, but choose a waterfront site and you'll rarely notice it. Regarding the "before 5:00 PM" check-in requirement: it's a fair policy and the office staff goes out of their way to be clear about this on the front end. If this is a time frame to which you don't want to be held, then simply book elsewhere. But, just know you'll miss out on a sweet little slice of Keys' RV paradise if you do! ;)

Nice park, while small, about 40 sites, the view of the Gulf was great.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This rating is not because of the facilities or the campground…read moreitself--it is entirely because of the way this situation was handled and the way my family was treated by the management. After nearly four years of visiting Jolly Roger RV Resort in Marathon and spending much of our summers there, I never imagined our experience would end this way. We truly loved this place. Our daughters grew up coming here, made great friends, and created wonderful memories. That is exactly why the way we were treated by the management was so disappointing. After the incident, our conversation regarding our permanent removal from the resort was handled directly by the park manager, Angie. Unfortunately, that conversation left us feeling unheard, unfairly judged, and with the impression that no consideration was given to our years as respectful, responsible guests. During the Fourth of July weekend, when the campground was extremely busy, several children were playing at the dock. As they had done during previous summers, some of them were jumping from the boat ramp into the water. I was the only parent present supervising the children who were with me. An employee came by and asked for the lot numbers of the families there. I was the only person who honestly and responsibly provided our lot number. The following day, I received a phone call from the park manager informing us that we had been permanently banned from the RV park. What hurt the most was not the decision itself, but the way the entire situation was handled. We were never given a meaningful opportunity to explain our side of the story, nor did anyone consider that, throughout all the years we had been coming here, we had never had a single complaint or incident. In addition, we were held responsible for situations that did not involve our family and that, from our perspective, were simply not true. It felt as though decisions were made based on assumptions rather than a fair evaluation of the facts or our long history as respectful guests. I was also surprised that there were no clear signs stating that children were not allowed to jump from that area. The posted signs referred to swimming at your own risk and under adult supervision, so we had no reason to believe that this behavior would result in a permanent ban. The saddest part was feeling as though we were treated like troublemakers or criminals when we have always been a respectful, responsible family that has taken care of both our children and the property. I can only speak about our own experience, but it ended with tremendous disappointment. More than the decision itself, it was the lack of empathy, respect, and willingness to listen that caused us to completely lose confidence in the management. We left heartbroken, especially for our daughters, who loved this place and were looking forward to spending the rest of the summer there. It is unfortunate that so many years of wonderful memories ended because of a situation that, in our opinion, could have been handled with communication, fairness, and basic respect. I sincerely hope the management reflects on how they treat families and handle situations like this. A great RV park is defined not only by its facilities, but also by the fairness, professionalism, and humanity with which it treats its guests.

She was loud rude and refused to let me tell her what I was told when I made my reservation. Additionally, when I told her you won't let me tell you what I was told she said your reservation is canceled and hung up on me. I immediately received an email saying my reservation was cancelled. I think she did it purposely because my rate was $80.00 per day as I booked months in advance and they now charge $138.00 per night. I have stayed at a lot of rv parks and this was the worst experience I ever had with a staff member! I would avoid this RV park for sure! Beware of Jolly Roger's!

We were escorted to our site, and literally were parked steps from the water. We enjoyed hanging out in the water immediately, and also loved all the wildlife present everywhere on the campground, including an iguana who liked to bask in the tree right next to our RV, numerous pelicans and herons (or egrets? I never know the difference), schools of thousands of little fish, and more. I loved swimming in the area off the swimming dock. The water was cool and refreshing in the heat. Every day, I marveled at the beauty of this place. The clouds and sky looked like cotton candy at dusk. Sunsets were magical. Bahia Honda State Park is only 5 minutes away. I almost didn't go, because this campground was so nice, but fortunately, we went, and of course, that was breathtaking as well. We have starlink so I didn't have internet issues, and we didn't use the marina services, so can't speak to that.

We have a 2 week stay here scheduled for August when lobster season opens. I recently found out through a voicemail that the marina is closed for upgrades. I've been trying to call to find out if they will have boat parking. I've called the marina once and the front office twice and left voicemail messages. I've not received a call back. my other issue is that no-one told me the marina would be under construction before I paid over 4,000 dollars for my spot.

Staff was super friend, facility was clean overall (beach was a little sluggish but there had also been storms all week so its something they cant really control). When we arrived, we got a tour of the facilities and were each given a towel. We also took one of their kayaks for a ride (complimentary) which i appreciated! Overall, I would definitely recomend spending the day here with their day pass through Resort Pass or any other platform they offer their services in, its a decent price and the facilties are great!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! What a terrible experience. Right when you get out of your car to check in, you…read morewill smell dead carcass and think there are dead animals around you - it will actually be decomposing seaweed riddled with trash. As many of us do, we will look at the reviews and see it's highly rated only to realize that all the fake/paid 5/5 reviews are distorting the rest of the real ones that will discuss the truth of what you'll get with this stay. You will go to the manager to discuss this putrid smell and attempt to get a refund since you not only can't sleep through the disgust, the beach that you mainly booked for, is completely not usable. The manager will regurgitate a scripted response as she has done many times because there's obviously been a substantial amount of complaints regarding the lack of usability of the beach. It is as follows: - We have a live camera that shows the quality of the beach - I scream from everywhere regarding the sargasm - just check the website - No refunds. I'll credit your stay but you should have known the risks if you just look at the website. - We clean the beach daily. - It will be better when there is high tide. It's just low tide right now. - This all came in last night. All of that are completely erroneous. They have no live camera or mention of built up sargasm/seaweed on their website, and with the ample amounts of trash and literal decomposing seaweed, it is very telling that there is no daily clean up. There is a camera of the patio and far off ocean that conveniently does not display the shoreline but that's a separate Florida website that displays several hotels with the conditions of the property. Again, this camera also does not transparently show the shoreline where tons of sargasm built up is displayed. As a business owner, I understand that company culture starts at the top. A manager who repeatedly makes dishonest claims and responds defensively rather than with understanding reflects a culture established by ownership--one that prioritizes denying refunds over treating customers fairly. That approach may protect a single payment, but it will ultimately cost the business far more in trust and reputation. As more customers share honest experiences like mine, those reviews will speak louder than the questionable stream of perfect five-star ratings, and potential guests will know to stay elsewhere. So, now you have booked to stay here and you are told no refunds - what to do? 1 - document everything (be very honest and show exactly what you got - the truth is on your side). 2 - forget them giving you a refund or Expedia or wherever you booked because they will not try to help you at all. Instead, go to your credit card company and dispute it with them letting them know that literally you are not getting what you paid for. You probably were like us and wanted to use the beach and the beach is not only unusable and gross - it is hazardous. 3 - leave immediately (we left after 1.5 hours) and stayed at another hotel. Why put yourself through torture and pay for a terrible experience? I'm telling you, your stay will get so much better elsewhere. We personally booked at the Hyatt Vacation Homes for less money in Key West and had a FABULOUS time once there. 4 - Again, document all the issues you see in the hotel and follow up with your credit card customer service team. Also, contact the Florida health code and other departments (elevator, hotel ratings, BBB, etc.), so they at least meet minimal standards for operating a hotel. I can't emphasize this enough - DO NOT STAY HERE. You will be miserable. It's gross, dirty, and they have terrible customer service. Save yourself the headache. It is as it smells - like a piece of decomposing sargasm.
