And to top it off, he gave me a discount!! Un- heard of during "summer season" in the keys. Once we arrived, we were greeted by John, who was just as friendly and helpful as Mark. The home was better than I expected, everything at hands reach to keep the family busy. Boat, Kayaks, Snorkeling gear etc. The home is situated on a private island on the gulf side...AMAZING sunset views! I read one negative review on Pretty Joe Rock, the person complained about bugs and huge insects. This is on an island with nature surroundings, expect bugs, insects etc.!!! Most of the shower in master bedroom is rotted. Outside door in second bedroom does not lock (yes, we were told we didn't need to lock doors, but you should be able to if you aren't comfortable leaving your belongings and sleeping with doors unlocked!). It was just my husband and I staying here for 2 weeks, and before half of the first week went by we ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. We were treated like we were really imposing on them to request enough for our stay. We also requested the linens be changed and the cottage cleaned after one week which created a complete uproar. Were told we would need to have the "dog" sheets put on the bed if we wanted them changed. These are sheets used by people who rent with dogs. The boat does not have a bimini top as pictured, or a ladder to get in and out. We had to purchase an umbrella and ladder. Kitchen is not even stocked with basics such as wraps and foils etc. First Aid kit is stocked with items that expired in 2005, or earlier. Plan on doing alot of shopping for items you would expect to be there There are lots of really nice places for rent in Marathon. Don't waste your money. Look around!

The bayside is OK, nothing special compared to the Oceanside, which is much, much better. Our place here had a broken shower door, so they put a shower curtain instead of fixing it. It could've used a little more cleaning before we checked in, especially on the walls. The pool area wasn't skimmed daily, and the grill area was a mess which isn't fully on the staff because people that use it should clean or attempt to clean after themselves. It was easy to text the desk for anything you needed, such as towels, TP, soap or a ride on the golf cart. The front desk staff was very good. Plenty of utensils, plates and pots/pans to cook if you decide to. The place needs to go back to how it used to be with all the colors. We were expecting a little more for the price we paid. We won't stay at the bayside location but will stay 100% on the Oceanside in the future. Also, if you come down during August, bring the bug spray because the mosquitos were relentless on the hotel grounds. Free laundry was a plus!

I accessed their website's chat option, confirmed it was ADA accessible to satisfy my concern. Even screen shot the chat to document discussion. Elevator was there and worked well Two baths advertised was actually one and a half. Grab bars adequate for 1/2 bath toilet, inadequate for upstairs toilet. Upstairs only had one grab bar directly behind toilet not useable. The only bath was a tub/shower. Only grab bar was on wall behind tub, no way safe for ingress nor egress. Contacted office, they were understanding. Said they would check on availability at Bayside and sister property Islander and get back to me. They quickly accommodated us. Offering (what we found was a true ADA compliant room) but they only had one. With the agreement to charge only what we agreed upon for the initial "ADA" room. The other couple took that room for bathroom use and sleep and we stayed in two bedroom villa. Shuttling them back and forth for activities. While we appreciate the speed and willingness to accommodate us, the false impression that it was ADA compliant needs to be clearly removed from advertisement on the website or the villa needs to be upgraded to meet that standard. True purpose of this yelp is to provide warning to customers to fully investigate what ADA accommodations are actually made by any hotel before you book their ADA room. In this case, both training of staff and/or upgrades need to be made. We got assurances from staff and manager that situation would be brought to higher management to resolve conditions.

We liked to our enjoy coffee and fruit in the mornings, then sit and enjoy a cool beverage after a day of site seeing / beaching. Sombrero beach is just a few blocks away and is as nice as any beach we visited, including Key West and Bahia Honda park. It is centrally located in the Keys, a day trip to Key West or Key Largo a snap. We will definitely stay there again.

She was super friendly and willing to work with our pick up locations and times. (We stayed in Ft Lauderdale the night before heading to Sea Base) Pickup and delivery went well. At night, there was live music, making it a wonderful place to sit, relax, and enjoy the view. The resort has a lot to offer, including oceanfront family pools, an adult relaxation pool, a swimming beach with loungers, kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods and reels, and a beautiful 525-foot fishing pier for catch-and-release fishing. There is also a 9 hole executive golf course, tennis courts, pickleball courts, sports courts, and beach cruiser bicycles. Families can enjoy the kids' game room and Camp Cheeca, which provide fun activities for children. Adults can relax at the full-service spa, fitness center, sunrise yoga classes, and water aerobics. We ordered the Salmon Aburi, Dragon Roll, and Matsuri Roll. The outdoor seating was definitely my favorite because we could enjoy our food and drinks while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Cheeca Lodge has several dining options besides sushi. Atlantic's Edge offers oceanfront dining with beautiful views and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mia Cucina serves Italian style dishes in a relaxed setting. Tiki Bar and 25South are great places for drinks, snacks, and casual meals. Guests can also visit Morada Bay Beach Café for a relaxed beachside dining experience. Pierre's is another popular nearby restaurant, known for its elegant atmosphere and beautiful waterfront setting. At night, the front ocean view fireplace area with live music is a great place to enjoy a drink after dinner. The combination of the fire, ocean view, and music creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Having so many restaurants and dining choices nearby makes the resort very convenient. You can enjoy sushi, Italian food, casual drinks, beachside meals, or a more elegant dinner without traveling far. The resort has a beautiful Florida Keys atmosphere and offers plenty of activities for both adults and families. I will also be making the same review on tripadvisor and posting pictures. Sunset grille is kittycorner-ish, definitely walking distance and was also a highlight of the night. I would stay here again by myself, If I had my two teen boys maybe not ONLY because there is nothing for them to do here and they would whine about it. :l But if you were going to have action packed days and just needed somewhere to shower, sleep, and maybe have a place to make your own breakfast (I hate paying to eat out for b-fast), this is it!
