Nice quiet place to stay. The staff were very professional and helpful. There was a wildfire north of us and the roads leading out were closed. The staff explained how the state officials usually handle the road closures. But offered to extend our stay if necessary. We took their advice and made it back on to the mainland with only a short wait and detour. Thank you for the great vacation , we are looking forward to staying again.

How anyone can rate this wonderful gem less than five stars is questionable to me. The place is beautiful, private, well-kept, well cleaned, right on the Bay -come out of your RV, wake up to a gorgeous view ..soak in the sunshine on your own beach, corn hole, beach games heated pool laundry room friendly staff (including the old man and the awesome guy who helped us park and the ladies and gentlemen constantly cleaning and maintaining the grounds) It has 2 small small areas for the dogs to go potty, yes the roads are gravel, but my low riser doxies had no issues. I'm not sure what else you need in paradise! Oh, you have a boat, well they have their own private dock, for a small fee park your boat overnight, and enjoy the wonderful state, this is Florida. The location on Marathon is perfect, center of the keys, 20 to 30 minutes to Islamorada, 1 to 1 1/2 hours to Key West. Many things to do on the island of marathon. Just don't take my RV spot ;)

The peaceful evening view from our RV site (#5).

This is a charming RV resort offering lovely surroundings and amenities that make for plenty of outdoor R'n'R opportunities. We loved pulling into our waterfront site and finding two comfy lounge chairs already in place and just begging to be kicked back in. The dock area is a focal point for chilling out and watching the ocean world go by, especially if you take advantage of the resort's Adirondack chair deck. Grassy Key may be a small, intimate resort, but that's part of what we enjoy about it. The place is peaceful and the perfect spot to be on Florida Keys' time. There's a bit of road noise during the day, but choose a waterfront site and you'll rarely notice it. Regarding the "before 5:00 PM" check-in requirement: it's a fair policy and the office staff goes out of their way to be clear about this on the front end. If this is a time frame to which you don't want to be held, then simply book elsewhere. But, just know you'll miss out on a sweet little slice of Keys' RV paradise if you do! ;)

Nice park, while small, about 40 sites, the view of the Gulf was great.

We…read morehad a waterfront site booked, and based on the front desk's recommendation, switched to a different waterfront site that was easier to back into (we have a 40' motorhome), which was appreciated. We were escorted to our site, and literally were parked steps from the water. We enjoyed hanging out in the water immediately, and also loved all the wildlife present everywhere on the campground, including an iguana who liked to bask in the tree right next to our RV, numerous pelicans and herons (or egrets? I never know the difference), schools of thousands of little fish, and more. I loved swimming in the area off the swimming dock. The water was cool and refreshing in the heat. Every day, I marveled at the beauty of this place. The clouds and sky looked like cotton candy at dusk. Sunsets were magical. Bahia Honda State Park is only 5 minutes away. I almost didn't go, because this campground was so nice, but fortunately, we went, and of course, that was breathtaking as well. We have starlink so I didn't have internet issues, and we didn't use the marina services, so can't speak to that.

We have a 2 week stay here scheduled for August when lobster season opens. I recently found out through a voicemail that the marina is closed for upgrades. I've been trying to call to find out if they will have boat parking. I've called the marina once and the front office twice and left voicemail messages. I've not received a call back. my other issue is that no-one told me the marina would be under construction before I paid over 4,000 dollars for my spot.

Get past that and you find a first-class resort, dense beautiful tropical gardens, great staff, all the perks one wants in a Keys resort... pool, bar, water sports, super nice/clean rooms, plenty of parking! Mia helped us check in and gave us the property tour, did a great job... thanks Mia. Complimentary prosecco upon check-in! Nice little gift shop at the office. Has a table and is covered. $199 for the day including bucket of beer/seltzers or a bottle of rose. - Basic kayaks and paddle boards included and other activities offered like kite surfing. - Restaurant and rooftop bar on site were great and convenient - Had a family 3 bedroom unit with kitchen which was nice. - Not so crowded when we were there mid-April Midlights: - Tide changes made it harder to do water sports since had to plan around low tide times. - Beds and sheets weren't the most comfortable - Day without Jeff the drinks were not great by the pool. - Adult section is more recently renovated than the family side. - Adult pool actually more crowded and set back in shade. Lowlights - Restaurant and rooftop bar closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Water ground is sludgey and not fun to walk on. Also sometimes an unpleasant odor. - Door to our main balcony was broken after our first night so for several days we couldn't go out there. Bummer cause was the main place we planned to hang out. And hub missed part of our aquacabana day waiting for someone to come up since his suit was out there. - No service for rooms while we were here 3 nights
