We have enjoyed coming to Cava Robles for the past 4 years. Each stay has been fun and relaxing. My husband and I love to walk the beautuful, we kept grounds and using the gym facility, as well. We've also hung out at the pool area and took in a mini concert. The amenities are fantastic here! Lots of cozy seating throughout to take in the views, sunsets, watch kids at play. Here camping with my wife and the people 2 sites over and blasting music so loud it's shaking my trailer. Multiple calls to security did nothing. Finally at about 10:30 they stopped. This isn't the first time this has happened but it's the last because I will never come back. read more

AWARENESS: In April of this year, after purchasing our new 5th wheel, a few of my camping buddies, who are also 5th wheel owners invited me here for a weekend of camping. NARRATIVE: After caravanning from the valley to Paso Robles with four other campers, we arrived at the RV park mid-afternoon. To my my surprise, there was a huge line of other campers ahead of us. Since Cava Robles has two check-in lines for campers at their entrance, It didn't take long to check-in, pay and get issued my camp site. The friends I had traveled with were all located in on the same street as I but, our camp sites were between one and five campers away from one another. After setting up camp, it was dinner time. During this trip, everyone chipped in something to a meals contribution; i.e. salads, pasta, bread or main course. My claim to fame was breakfast for the crew each morning. SCENE: Cava Robles is located right off highway 46 just before highway 101. The park is huge with lots of camp sites which can accommodate various sizes, classes and lengths of RV's and their amenities....well, too many to count. Pools, a roach coach that visits so you buy snacks and food, rental golf carts, laundry machines and clean restrooms are just a few to mention. During my visit. I tried counting the pros vs the cons but, the pros blew the cons out of my thoughts. RECOMMENDATION(S): Cava Robles is a newer, clean and safe RV park with wide range of amenities. The surrounding area, (Paso Robles) offers wine tasting, shopping and some the best breweries and restaurants in California. What's not to like about a great RV park nestled in area like Paso Robles? The RV park is outstanding. It is clean and w all the amenities necessary for your RV. Recently, they did an upgrade to their recreation center whereby they installed a brick oven for pizza and a bar. Our experience w both was less than acceptable. Disclaimer, we wanted something easy and inside the campground. That was our mistake. The alcohol beverage ordered and received was unacceptable. The drink was served in a small plastic glass. If it contained a half ounce of alcohol, I would be surprised. The charge was $15. Now, I get it. Cut costs, it's the bottom line. No... not worth the money, I would avoid alcohol purchases. Second, we ordered a 12 inch pizza. Added two types of meat, pepperoni and sausage. I counted both toppings, 6 pepperoni's w 12 small size sausage bits. The pizza was dripping with cheese and tasteless. Stay at the RV park, excellent. If your hungry, go into town. A better experience is waiting. read more

Everything is super expensive. You used to be able to bring your own food into the pool but now if you want to eat there then you have buy their 30 dollar meals. Workers are rude and close clubhouse early so you can't play the only free table top game of billiards. The rest of the table top games were scrapped and turned into expensive arcade machines. Not to mention the most annoying wrist bands you have to wear all the time even though half the guests I see at the pool don't wear it. So sad to see this place fall off. They are fee pricey. Our family really enjoys going here. It's nice the pool is nice and the trailer sites are nice. However it's super expensive IMO for camping. They charge a nightly rate, resort fee and a lock fee for picking your own site. Really? You add a golf cart and some drinks at the pool and you spend 1k for 2 nights of camping in your own RV. Crazy! Even thought we like it we only go about once a year now because of the fees. read more

We just spent a week here for a family vacation. There were a total of 5 rigs. We arrived on Saturday got all setup and everything seemed ok. We were backed up to the grass area which was very nice except it was pretty wet and mushy. There were a lot of kids and adults on electric bikes and scooters and golf carts that are not supervised by the adults or any security around. Our kids had pedal bikes and always had to watch out for the electric bikes. After driving all day we were all pretty tired. As soon as it got dark our neighbors starting playing loud music with major bass. Looked at the rules and unfortunately the quiet hours were 11PM. All parks we have been at have been 10PM. Well 11 came and went and still not turning down or quieting down. Called front office to report and they said they would send a ranger. They had already received calls. I personally called over 5 times until finally the Sheriff came around 12 AM. After they left they turned it back up. We all want to have fun but common courtesy or respect for other campers. These people were driving around on their golf carts with music playing as well. I believe the music and noise finally lowered at about 2:00 AM. Definitely not a good nights sleep. Most of these people rolled out the day after fathers day. Next day we just got glared at from the main family that was blasting the music. Friday night we had the same issue with music. I guess these people think the whole park wants to hear their music. Luckily they turned theirs off by 11:30. Not a lot of pool furniture and a lot of it is broken. Splash pad didn't work most of the time. Went to use the Fire Pit by our sport 314, 315, and they didn't have a ranger on duty to open it up for us. When you pay this kind of money you expect to be able to use all of the facilities. I believe we were all disappointed with this park. Personally our family will not be back to this park. If you want to party all night with loud music go to Vegas. DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT TO LET YOUR KIDS RUN WILD WITHOUT SUPERVISING ON ELECTRIC BIKES, SCOOTERS OR GOLF CARTS AND PLAY MUSIC OF ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT. read more

The facility is clean and nice. Great, wide spots and we love the concrete pads. There are so many employees and they are all nice. The pool experience was the BIGGEST disappointment. To be an RV park, where we have our own groceries and drinks, to not allow any outside food is a complete letdown. They charge you to put songs on the jute box, charge you for any arts and crafts now, I'm honestly surprised they don't charge you to get into the pool. We then rented a cabana at the outrageous price of $300 for 5 hours, biting the bullet and thinking this would be the best idea assuming Saturday would be packed and we wouldn't be able to find tables and chairs for our group. To start the cabana fiasco, when we booked, they had no idea what in the world the cabana came with or how many it sat inside the cabana. When we checked in to our site on Thursday, no one gave us directions for the cabana, but made sure to collect for the cabana. We went to the guest services on Saturday morning to ask what we were supposed to do to check in for the cabana, the girl stated "just go down there and talk to someone". When checking in to the cabana, we noticed right away the cheap furniture, no fan, no refrigerator, no trash can and no safe. We asked what the perks were for renting a cabana for $300! She said you get some towels and water. The water came out in 3 plastic carafes with tap water. It was cold though. We were unimpressed with the lack of perks for such a pricey cabana rental with no accessories. We were again not allowed to bring in our own backpack ice chests, food or drinks. So they insist you buy their drinks and food, but you get no discount as a perk. The cabana sat about 6-7 people and if you were lucky, you could grab a couple POORLY MADE wooden chaise chairs. In its entirety, the whole pool experience was a joke other than being in the water to cool off. In our experience, since Sun Outdoors has taken over, the rules are ridiculous and the park was better ran when it was just Cava Robles. Sun Outdoors assumes their facility is NOT an RV park where we pack our own items. read more

Sad to say that I am forced to leave a 1 star review for this place. First off, we were not given the spot we reserved and were told that we were given one of there best sites, but it was a huge disappointment. Not a good location at all. We arrived on Friday afternoon and were attending an event that evening at a local winery. We were out pretty late that evening and were looking forward to a relaxing and restful stay. The next morning around 9am we are awakened by a high pressure washer running right outside our bedroom window. After being rudely awakened and having my morning coffee I walked down to the office to ask if this was normal and acceptable. The two young ladies said they didn't know what the rules were regarding washing vehicles on site. They didn't seem to have any training or knowledge about proper procedures for the park. I asked if I could speak to a manager and was told that none of the managers worked Saturday. ‍ I asked for a business card for the General Manager and called the number to leave a message for a call back. I never got a response so after over a week I called the Corporate number and got transferred to the Customer Care extension. It went to voicemail and said I would receive a call back so I left a message. The gentleman with the high pressure washer ran it almost continuously for over 2 1/2 hours before moving on. As of now, over a month has gone by. I have called and requested a return call 3 different times and have not received a return call. It has become quite obvious that the company and their customer care department don't give a hoot about customer satisfaction. It is a sad case that they are building a less than stellar reputation with their clients. This is evident by the fact that as I am writing this review they only have a 3 1/2 stars !!!! Just keep burning your bridges, and then you can start complaining when you can't fill all those empty spots. Sorry, all I really wanted was a call back, an explanation, and apology. So after coming here since it has opened it has declined. The park is nice and should be 5 stars, but I will explain why my review has gone down significantly. I will start off by saying this is one of the more expensive parks you will stay at. I paid 160 a night after taxes. That is not for a cabin that is for an RV spot and with my own RV. A friend of mine stayed in a cabin and paid over 300 a night. Now, when paying such an exorbitant rate, you expect the facility to reflect that. It doesn't. Like others have said, the restrooms were dirty, lacking toilet paper, and seat covers all the time. One bathroom didn't have soap the entire 4 days we were there. Now management has responded to some of those recent reviews and stated they would pass the info along. They either didn't pass the info on to the staff or staff don't care. My friend's cabin had really bad stains on the outdoor furniture to the point where we didn't want to sit on it. And some outdoor furniture did not have cushions on them. Again if you are charging the same rate as a Vegas suite the product should reflect that. The staff also fail to enforce certain rules in the park, but will enforce others like charging you 35 dollars for being a little early even though you are paying through the nose they for sure enforce. Again if site is ready let people in. If you show up at a hotel and room is ready I've never been told no or charged extra. The staff are hit and miss as well. Some are great and super helpful and others are rude and don't care weather they upset you or not. In the end they need to stop being cheap and hire enough staff to keep the park up and reflecting some of the highest rates in Rv parks. Also train staff to treat people right and don't let the bathrooms look like your in a stat park. Also keep the upper pool for adults only so those without kids can enjoy the pool and not be splashed all day. Also keep staff in pool areas to ensure it's not a DJ contest between different groups and we can actually enjoy the pool. read more

Cannot say enough about this spot! We just left, and my whole family was truly sad to be pulling out of our spot this morning. Already planning our next trip back. The grounds are the cleanest I have ever seen. Anywhere. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive - maybe because there weren't tooooo many people staying during the week - but we appreciated it. We can't wait to come back in the warmer months and spend some more time taking advantage of the amenities-- i.e. the two GORGEOUS pools and the restaurant, which was closed during our stay unfortunately. The landscaping is stunning, and I love that you're close to town but it feels secluded because you're surrounded by beautiful oaks. We ventured to Cambria and it was about a 35 minute drive, but an EASY one, and we all loved it. read more

Very clean, well maintained campground! Nice hiking trails all around, and good dog parks too. They do events here, like wine and beer tastings. Swimming pools are always clean, they kick people out at 3:00-4:00 to keep the water clean. Good store, has the essentials in case you forgot something. Super nice people running it too. We were at site 202, my only complaint is that some people have NO common sense, and will do 40 mph on this street! Perhaps a few nice speed bumps along this part would slow people down!!?? read more

The one thing that I completely disliked, was the cardboard pizza that cost 21 bucks. I completely understand food/ drinks are more expensive at a RV resort, but I don't think there's any excuse to serve food that taste like cardboard. A nice newer rv park formerly known as Cava Robles. I like most things about this park. There is one change I don't like. They add a 20% "gratuity" to your bill at their bistro/bar. And this addition to your bill, in my opinion, is not clearly made known ahead of time. Fine print on the on line park info and rules. One staff told us the money goes to the cooks. I believe the business should pay the cooks correctly and leave the gratuity choice to the customers as it should be. The check in time is 2pm but if you donate $30.00 to the company you can check in early. There are two nice pools here, a beautiful lagoon type pool kids love and a traditional rectangular pool. I wish they would designate a lap/exercise time slot, maybe morning where adults could use the pool. But both pools are filled with kids and floating adult beer drinkers on weekends. We've camped here many times, we love it. However this last time, we were met with some staff that were rude at the pool area. But I dismissed that, thinking someone else may have given them a difficult time. The 2 stars for this review is because I emailed personally to give them a chance to do the right thing and got no response. There are "leash your dog" signs everywhere. Well our trailer neighbors didn't listen and chose to keep there Belgian Malinois and German Shepard dogs off leash. Not only to poop on the grass area and not pick it up but.... I was walking my two leashed dogs, and was attacked by them. They jumped on top of us. I fell backwards trying to protect my dogs, and the owner could have cared less. I broke my finger and my dogs were scratched up. My husband came immediately to the rescue after my screaming and once the owner of the other dogs came to recall his dogs he told me I was fine. He did not apologize , nothing. I figured SOPR would have at least responded or would have reached out to the family to tell them to leash their dogs but absolutely nothing!! Which is crazy because your pool bartender made sure to go out of her way to call me out about having my purse that had our canned sodas in it at the pool. read more

We have stayed several times and enjoy the views and the nice sites. But we never stay on weekends or in the summer after a couple of unpleasant experiences as reported in earlier reviews. We arrived last Sunday and the lap pool area was thankfully empty of kids and drunks. But the pool and fire pit areas were a mess. There was gravel at the bottom of the hot tub and jets filled it completely with foam. The manager said a pool company should have been there that day. It was clean the next day. The gravel comes from the deteriorating concrete around the hot tub which desperately needs resurfacing. I learned that over the weekend, a huge rowdy crowd had taken over the entire area and the hot tub was filled with people. As we have seen in the past, I was also told that young kids careened around in golf carts and on scooters and music blasted until 11pm. Based on Yelp reviews, the resort seems to be incapable of dealing with rowdy crowds. One Halloween weekend was a nightmare. We too have seen a deterioration in grounds maintenance and furniture at the club houses and pools. The staff is helpful and friendly but they need more of them. This resort is pretty expensive and resort fee high. Hope changes are made. Those rowdy weekend and summer crowds are probably their most lucrative customers but they need to keep the rest of us coming back. read more

No need to rock paper scissor for who's staying with the kids while the other goes back and forth in your gas guzzling or diesel powered generator for the E cars . This is a beautiful RV campground. The pools are like a first class resort, clean new showers, a workout room like a 4star hotel!! The spaces are spread out and we backed up to a view and walking path (that is a groomed trail that circles the property) ... it's perfect for a walk with your pup! Very dog and kid friendly! This has been one of our favorite vacations as a family of 5 (with 3 small children) for the last few years. It is beautiful and relaxing, we especially love the large 1 foot area of the pool for our littlest ones to get comfortable and confident being in the water. The bathrooms and showers are clean. There is plenty to do to keep us busy and the front desk is very attentive. We went for our annual trip this summer and during our stay the pool rules changed. Meaning we watched them swap out the old rules for the new rules as we sat there. And then we watched the employees harass several families coming in about their coolers not being allowed in, then dig through people's pool bags and even made people open and show what was inside of their tumblers. The rules changed without notice - so what was allowed a day before was suddenly not. As stated we travel with small children and we pack things kids enjoy snacking on. (Apple sauce pouches, fresh fruit, goldfish, salami, cheese, crackers) They eat every 20 minutes when they're swimming! It was definitely not in our budget to spend even more money at their bar - especially with the 20% gratuity for every order. There is hardly anything on the bar menu that my kids would even eat - being that two of them are toddlers. And as a sober mom, I just wanted to bring in my sparkling waters and iced coffee. I didn't want anything from the bar. Several other campers were feeling the same as us, it put a damper on so many people's trips and was very uncomfortable to be watched every time I reached in my pool bag. The staff were rude in their approach about all of the changes. There were a lot of regulars and a lot of families with small kids who agreed that if these policies continued to be in place we would much rather stay somewhere else in the future. read more

This place used to be great. Now you get policed like children. I just wanted to mind my business and eat my bag of chips, and immediately I am harassed that there is no outside drinks or food allowed. They offer bar food and impose a mandatory 20% gratuity to all orders. I will now NEVER buy your overpriced junk food or drinks. Want to listen to your own music? Nope you're forced to listen to the music management provides blasted through a speaker. You can pay to play a song you want, however. Why would I pay to listen to music I can listen to for free on my own phone. This place is all about making a buck when things are already expensive? You are expected to buy their food (very limited menu and can't go inside and order with a wet bathing suit) and buy their drinks. This resort is on a beautiful piece of land, well landscaped and rustic architecture of the lodge and swimming area, no complaints there. My two star review is solely based on the condition of the cabin. Upon entering the cabin, we noticed there was nowhere to sit and eat, no dining table, and no chairs. One would have to assume you are expected to eat outside. Only one of the stove top burners was working. The towel rack was in two pieces. One part was on the sink, and another part was still attached to the wall. There was only one burner working on the outdoor gas grill.. started to think this was done on purpose to prevent fires. Pots and pans were old and scratched, and I definitely would not cook on scratched Teflon. Lastly, there was no hot water in the shower. I'm not sure if I would stay in one of the cabins again. read more

We've stayed at the Sun Outdoors in Paso Robles numerous times over the past 4 years and each stay has been very good and with no issues. We love the cleaniness of the resort and the various aminities. I especially appreciate the fitness gym and to be able to workout while on vacatio. The only thing missing is a Pickle ball court or two. We will continue to come back in the future. read more

We do love Cava RV Resort and have been here a few times. Being a newer RV Resort, the facilities are nice and clean and the ground are well taken care of. Having said that, it is on the expensive side. I think one of our days, New Years Eve, was like $150.00! They aloso have nice cabanas (small cabins) for people who don't have an RV or want something different. Great place to stay in wine country. I particularly like the large dog park with actual real grass! This is on a hill with beautiful views of the area below. There are also many spots with nice views as well. read more

Price has gotten out of hand. Been going to Cava Robles since they opened. With all the extra fees it is not Worth the money. If you don't pay a lock fee they put you at the worst site even with the site you requested is open. We were offered a 33% discount to book for a Spring stay but the total was not taken of the bill at time to pay. I cancelled. Other RV Resorts don't add extra fees for WiFi, Cable, Pools with a $10 dollar resort fee. They say $112.00 a night then addons total with taxes and fees over $150.00 a night. Cancelled and heading to Flying Flags in Avila Beach. If I'm going to pay a lot of money that is the place to go. Never again at any Sun Outdoors Parks. Talk about cheating loyal customers then that's where you need to go. read more

This really is a beautiful site but maintain by idiots. We reserved a site by a smaller pool bc we had a bad experience at this same resort, at the other pool site with personal speakers Some members in past years were rude about. Staff members would allow several people to have speakers making it loud and having several different speakers at a time blaring and folks arguing over whom should turns theirs off or down. However, the issue was raised today that my one and singularly playing speaker was not going to be a problem as long as nobody complained. (There were a Small number of us all together that agreed) A small time later a huffy Manager type told me there was a complaint from someone at a campsite nearby regarding the music being played on a speaker. Which was impossible because our music was at a reasonable volume. I was being told to leave the pool without warning. ‼ No where in the policy of the pool did it state the also, an hour later my neighbor returned to the same pool to see someone else with a personal speaker blasting music much louder who was not asked to leave. Mine was at a reasonable volume and family appropriate. This persons was not-- so was I target???? I find this unacceptable. read more

My family and I are supposed to go out of town 2 weeks ago, but due to COVID concerns my husband decided to go camping (well, mostly glamping) at Cava Robles RV Resort. I looked up the resort days before our trip and somewhat excited to camp there however, i have lowered my expectation due to yelp reviews. When we got there: Checking-in was quick and easy. RV spots are spacious.(most spacious spot we've ever camped on) Movable bench and fire pit. Off leash Dog park: super clean, have some shade and pretty secured. Kids park: decent:have a slide, i dont think there was a swing(not sure), Bocce ball court Walking trails: clean, havent seen any trash or dog poop Public Restoom: clean and modern But the highlight was their amazing community center and game room!! Theres a bar, swimming pool, jacuzzi, pool table, bbq/grill station Overall, this is the best campground we've ever been to and it was worth the cost! read more

Huge paved RV park with spacious sites, full hookups, several pools, not many restrooms but they are very clean, and an occasional tree. They have taco trucks and shaved ice truck on site. There is a tiny store here but they have nothing usable. Supposedly there was live music but did not find it. The RVs here are all humongous. Meaning this is a big family park so expect lots of kids, noise, and smoke. I saw one tent and that was pitched alongside a Sprinter. There is really no grass for pitching a tent so best to look elsewhere if that is what you need. It is close to town and near lots of wineries of course. Great bike riding from here into wine country as well. And yea, they rent golf carts. I'm not sure why you need a golf cart. I suppose walking to one of the two pools is just too far. But hey, if that's what you want, go for it. I would have rated it higher if it were not for the all night party with dj. So much for sleeping while on vacation. read more

We have been staying here every summer since they opened. We usually bring our RV but this time we had a quick stay and rented a 2 bedroom chateau. Positives- Great location, we love the local food/beer/wine. The RV sites are clean. New umbrellas at the pool are a good update. The pools are always crystal clear and the pool bathrooms are also very clean. When we did have issues, the front desk attendant was helpful. The Ravine water park is right down the road and so fun, a must do for kiddos. Negatives- Definitely showing its age, needs a little TLC. There are broken legs on some of the fire pits in the RV sites. The new wooden lounge chairs at the main pool are terrible, several already broken and very uncomfortable. The new cabanas also take up a lot of space at a busy pool where it's already extremely difficult to get a chair or shade. If you want to rent a cabana they are very expensive ($300 plus). You can only pay for things on site now with a QR code wristband that you have to register/activate and then wear for your whole stay, no cards or cash and an automatic 20% tip on purchases. A security guard at the pool checks all bags upon entry, only allowing small snacks and water. For the cost of this resort you should be able to BYOB again. You can request music at the pool, but have to pay for it. Most of our complaints come from the very expensive (nearly $900 for two weeknights) chateau rental. It had flooring peeling up inside and out, chipped cabinets, and cheap pocket sliding doors for the rooms that don't lock. The pullout couch was sketchy. We had a second story balcony but the glass was so dirty and the flooring was very worn so it was a distraction from the ambiance. Had to call for propane for the grill, ours was empty. The outdoor furniture cushions were stained. Each bedroom had its own cooling unit which struggled, and the living area did not have AC at all, so it got quite warm during our summer stay. Lots of ants! We would stay here again but only if we bring our own rig. I would not recommend their lodging unless you get a smoking deal or they renovate to make them worth the cost. read more

July 2018. Bring back general manager Nigel! He is awesome. Resort needs security patrols at night, and enforce quiet hours after 10 p May 2018. New Sun Resorts property in Paso Robles wine country. We are avid Sun Resorts customers and have had 3 reservations set up months before it opened. We will be staying Mothers Day weekend first. We had a sneak peak today at the resort and I'posted some pics. It is beautiful and we are excited to camp there soon. Construction will continue as they work on finishing the whole resort but some portions will be open in early May. I've been told official hard opening is May 18th. Sun Resorts also owns Wine Country RV and Vines over on Hwy 101 north of Pado Robles. This facility has a cool children's play area, a bar, banquet room, and a restaurant. Several spas are scattered around the resort and the main pool is a beautiful infinity pool. I highly recommend Sun Resorts properties and will update this after Mother's Day weekend stay. read more
