I've been here twice now and it's been great each time. I just do a spray tan and the rooms are always clean as well as the machines. It's always calm and quiet inside, no loud music playing which makes it an even better experience. The staff are friendly and make appointments go smoothly. One thing I really like is that they aren't pushy about buying a ton of extra stuff like some tanning places. I've never used the tanning beds here so I can't speak on that, but for a quick spray tan I'd say it's worth it! read more

May 26, 2026. At 8:40pm. Whomever was working the front was the WORST service ever to be seen in customer service. This very rude individual chose to ignore whom was waiting in line in order to help younger customers first. Then to be extremely unhelpful for someone who has never had a spray tan done before, did not explain to them the different types of spray tans. Refused to help sign her up for an account and flat out told her she shouldnt get a spray tan for the event she was wanting one for. Overall she has ruined the experience of a first spray tan and sun tan city all together. Truly such a horrible customer service experience and will not go unnoted. She created a uncomfortable, humiliating and unpleasant environment to the point that others around were laughing due to seeing the frustration and how unhelpful the worker was. read more

I really tried giving this location multiple chances, but the customer service has consistently been disappointing. The front desk staff is unprofessional, rude, and seems frustrated to help with even basic questions or account issues. As a paying customer, I don't expect perfection , just respect and clear communication. If you're considering getting a tanning membership, I strongly recommend choosing another business altogether. The experience here does not match the pricing or the brand standards you expect anymore. Hopefully management steps in and improves things, but until then, I would look elsewhere. Had a terrible experience tonight. Went in and asked for a spray tan- we are going to the beach Monday and I didn't want to be snowball white. The girl at the counter pulled up the last time I got a tan from TWO YEARS AGO and just told me what tan I was getting. I had to tell her I didn't want the exact same thing as last time and she rolled her eyes. She then started adding a product package- some kind of primer and lotion, and just added it to my price without asking me if I actually WANTED it. I told her I just wanted the tan, no products, and she huffed like I was being ridiculous. I was asking questions about the tan shades, tints, and undertones, and she seemed like explaining that information was just exhausting to her. Went in to get the spray tan, and I'm pretty sure I didn't even get what I asked for. I came out immediately really dark and it's too much. I'm hoping I can wash it off tomorrow and have a lighter shade. Very disappointing to be treated like an inconvenience. I have a membership I will not be using again at this location. read more

Waited for a bed when I was told one minute left. They were talking while the beds were dirty instead of getting them ready for clients.

Did a 1 month membership, didn't like the facility and never went back after my first visit. Canceled my membership and then three months later they charged me almost 400 dollars. They denied my refund request and said this was mention somewhere in the club agreement. They offered me free tanning on a glo card for the Monta charged that I wasn't even supposed to still be a member for. Absolutely disgusting buisness, run as far away as you can from this place and don't give them any money. read more

St. MATTHEWS Sun Tan City is a very nice location for getting your tan on. The place is clean and inviting. The staff is courteous and respectful of your time, getting you in and out as soon as possible. Seems like their computers tend to run slow, but maybe that's at other locations too. I like the Versa spray tanning booths the best. They provide wipes, bonnets, towels, barrier cream and a changing room right in the same room as the spray booth. This is a robotic spray, not a person spraying you, which I prefer. Highly recommended! read more

Not impressed at all ... every time I went I was told something different .... I end up walking out without tanning last time ( which was probably last time at this point ) I don't tan too often , but I like to go once in awhile I am definitely not coming back ( at least to that location) Employees should be on the same page and not confuse customers. Last time the girl was trying to tell me how I should use my membership in which order and how it's gonna burn me or not work at all . Like the vibe a was getting was either you sign up or don't come at all ... And if you do the two week trial which is cheaper you will not be treated the same like somebody who signed up for long term membership ... how am I suppose to come back and want to sign up after that ... so disappointed and based on reviews I can see I am not the only one read more

Wow! Best places EVER! I love walking through the door And excellent customer service

I went in to get one session before i left on vacation. I just wanted to tan and relax, but the worker basically refused to let me just buy one session. She told me it wouldn't give me a tan if i went once (I'm clearly aware, I've tanned before and i knew what i wanted) she kept going on and on about how i needed an entire package. I told her I've tanned before and i know what I'm asking for.. Finally i convinced her to give me one session, and as I'm in the tanning bed ready to relax, i hear the workers running through the hallways, yelling, laughing, and carrying on like they were having a party outside my door. The entire time i felt uncomfortable like at any moment their party would bust through my door. Needless to say, i won't be back. read more

I hate giving a bad review on this place because I actually continue to go here. But there has been too many disappointments with this location. I only do the spray tan. I can't tell you how many times the machine ran out of spray tan, or didn't work, or starts out spraying only half my body. Or how many times there's been no hair nets or no lotion to prevent me from getting orange feet and hands. The girls here are always super friendly. But honestly I'd rather someone with an attitude who's at least getting the job done. I don't believe these expectations are too much to ask for. Yet it's always a disappointment. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: Staffing has turned around and I've gotten great service here for the last few months. Employees are friendly and helpful. Great job turning around! Is zero star a choice? Pathetic handling of customers. The "manager" cannot multi-task while simply sitting on hold with home office. Beyond ridiculous. The ladies her were so nice, they hooked me up with some great deals. The beds were amazing, I got way darker than I thought I would !

Unfortunately, it's the closest one to my house and I make stops there every now and then. Terrible customer service, long waits.

The workers here very obnoxious and they cop attitudes at anything and everything. It is $10 for any child under 18 to get a spray tan and they will try to rip you off by up charging you, knowing exactly how old you are. read more

Very disappointed!! The young lady that waited on me and my 16 year old daughter had the worst customer service I have ever seen! She was bothered by any questions I ask. It was my daughter's first time tanning and I asked if they would show or or tell her how to use the tanning bed. She rambled off quickly the bed will turn in itself. That's it. Of course my daughter calls me from bed and doesn't understand what to do. The lady if no help. I make a complaint to customer service.i just want my money back but they say no. They tell me another location I can go to in Louisville. My daughter has her friend take her up to brownsboro road location. I get a call. They say she can't tan because I didn't say a form. I say she judged tanned last night at SunTan City! They said well the lady forget to get you to sign the parental form so I need to stop what I'm doing and go sign form. So I leave and when I get up to new location they say we don't have the kind of bed you paid for but you can pay for an upgrade . I said no!!! Called customer service and I'm still waiting to talk to a General Mananger. I don't not and never will recommend SunTan City!!! read more
