Came here for a Yelp Elite week event and brought my family to try as well. We tried various drinks, the oreo gelato, and 3 different flavored soufflé pancakes. The fruit drinks are all made with fresh fruit and even at 100% sweetness, the fresh tea flavor shines through. They were out of peach, which made me a little sad, so I decided to try the lilikoi pineapple tea with lychee jelly. It was good but the lilikoi seeds in it threw me off a bit. There was lots of pineapple pieces and the lychee jelly was yummy. The smoothies are all made with a deliciously creamy cheese foam on top. In my opinion the saltiness of the foam really enhances the sweetness of the fruit. My hubby got the pineapple smoothie and I liked his drink better than mine, lol. My daughter got the Jasmine milk tea with brown sugar boba. It was 100% sweet but still tasted like tea, which I appreciated. The boba was perfectly sweet and just a little chewy. My son got the creme milk tea with brown sugar boba. This was my favorite drink! It was ordered at 100% sweet but didn't taste overly sweet at all. It was rich and creamy and absolutely delicious! All the soufflé pancakes were light, airy, melt in your mouth dreamy goodness. We tried strawberry, creme brulée, and boba. The boba was my favorite. Sun Tea Mix offers a variety of drinks and 4 different souffle pancake flavors to choose from. I wanted to try their honeydew smoothie, but they said that honeydew and peach wasn't available, so I decided on the mango smoothie with cheese foam and crystal boba and the brown sugar boba souffle pancake. The mango smoothie was spot on and so refreshing! I loved the cheese foam (salty cream cheese) and the crystal boba was so yummy. The pancakes take 20 minutes to make, but so worth the wait!! It was very light and fluffy and they passed the jiggle test!! The brown sugar boba was a bit too heavy and sweet for me, but still good. Boba texture was perfectly chewy! My friend ordered a watermelon smoothie with cheese foam and the strawberry souffle pancake... he loved them both! :) The reason for my 4 stars is due to finding hair in my drink... after I drank half of it :( I told the staff and they apologized and made me a new drink. Other than that, I think they deserve the full 5 stars. You have 2 options of where to park. You can go to Hmart or SALT. Such a clean, modern cafe! I love the white wood aesthetic feel. This place is such an inviting place to walk inside, with the bright interior and high ceilings, yet retaining a humble and comfortable vibe. My friend and I came here specifically for the souffle pancakes. They were a bit on the expensive side ($10.99), but we just had to. We ordered: CREME BRULEE SOUFFLE PANCAKE: Exactly how you'd imagine this to be! The top had a nice thin layer of caramelized sugar, and there was a generous amount of creamy sauce. The souffle pancake was so fluffy and eggy, just how I liked it!!! It had a bit of a cream cheesy kick to it, and I savored every bite! BROWN SUGSAR BOBA MILK TEA SOUFFLE PANCAKE: Exactly how you'd imagine it to be as well! Generous amount of boba balls, and was a bit sweeter than the creme brulee one! There aren't many boba places where I go out of my way to recommend to others, but this is one of them. If you're a fan of fruit teas, I don't think I've been to anywhere else on the island that rivals Sun Tea Mix. The drinks look beautiful, and they taste even better than they look. I think one thing that sets Sun Tea Mix apart from many other places is that they use fresh fruit in their teas. You'll end up paying for it, but what you get is worth it. If you'd rather have something else, don't worry their other drinks are amazing too. I literally have never been let down from anything I've ordered here. It has been opened for a long time and haven't tried it until recently. I always see soufflé pancake pictures on social media of this place. It's a simple and cute. This tea place is located near H Mart in Kakaako. I would park at Salt and walk there. Salt at Kakaako has free parking for an hour. Grab some food at Salt and and then get a drink here. I didn't get to try the soufflé pancakes but I got the white peach oolong tea instead. Ordered it with lite ice and less sweet. I love the taste of it. Soufflé was nice and beautiful to look at!!! The boba was really soft and chewy, not too sweet. It was made relatively quickly, maybe under 10 min despite what the sign outside said it would take 20. The fruit tea drinks came with real fruit. Not a super strong taste but still very refreshing! Tried the Lilikoi and Pineapple Tea and Strawberry Lime Tea. Sun Tea Mix has been on my radar ever since I saw their beautiful soufflé pancakes on Instagram. I was on quite the soufflé pancake kick last year when I found a recipe to make my own. They were really good, but not nearly as delicious when someone else makes them for you! And Sun Tea Mix's soufflé pancakes have the best light fluffy texture that I have ever had! Also on their extensive menu are delicious hand crafted drinks made with quality brewed tea and real fruit. I had a super refreshing grapefruit mojito made with no alcohol and fresh mint. I loved the bubbles from the soda water and I would definitely order it again. My son had a mango smoothie topped with mango gelato. You could really taste the fresh mango. My daughter couldn't stop raving about her strawberry smoothie topped with cheese foam and her addition of crystal jelly. Her eyes widened with every sip! Currently, Sun Tea Mix is only open for take out. Which is a shame because their cafe is the cutest! When it does reopen for dining, expect cozy seating with available WIFI. Sun tea mix is good. It's more what I'm used to coming from CA. The area was really nice and seems great to walk and explore during non covid times. This shop is modern and nice. It has a lot of space and I can tell it would be a great place to hang out before the pandemic. The decoration is spot on. They do have a few tables for outside dining so we decided to relax outside for a bit while we waited for our drinks to be made. Customer service was excellent and friendly. They were patient with us while we ordered since it was our first time. I got the mango yogurt drink and it was great. My cousin got the strawberry version and it was not as good. My friend and I were in the Kaka'ako area and were looking for the nearest boba shop where we stumbled across Sun Tea Mix on a hot sunny day. Although we did not opt for boba, I went with the Fruit Oolong Tea with lychee jelly with 25% sweetness. The fruit oolong tea was quite refreshing with the perfect balance of the earthy tones of the tea and sweetness of fruit & lychee jelly. However, yet again, five seconds later the liquid was gone because I couldn't' find myself putting my drink down. The interior of the shop is very spacious; perfect for social distancing and gives you the cute modern vibe. They also have a stamp card going on as well as an online ordering system which gives you the option to go and grab. First time customer here! As I walked into Sun Tea Mix, I admired the beautiful aesthetic the shop had inside. The space would be big enough for a couple of groups to enjoy their drinks. While it's a shame that people aren't allowed to dine in currently, I'm glad that they're taking precautionary measures! When looking at the menu, it was pretty difficult to choose which drink I wanted to try since they all looked tasty. I opted for the Strawberry Snowcap Smoothie as my first ever drink from Sun Tea Mix. The drink contained big chunks of jelly, strawberry bits, a little bit of what I assume is cocoa pebbles, and whipped cream. It was both sweet and refreshing. I wasn't too sure if you're supposed to mix the whipped cream into the drink so I drank it as is. The whipped cream did not taste like store bought whipped cream so I'm guessing it might be something that they make themselves. However, the paper straw used for the drink failed me after 5 sips and it became too flimsy to the point where I couldn't drink anything. I know this might not be Sun Tea Mix's fault since the new rules in Hawaii state that drink places can't use plastic straws anymore, so I'm not holding this against the store. I would recommend future customers to bring their own reusable straw or drink directly from the cup itself. I was glad that I was on my way home after picking up my drink since I was able to use my own reusable straw. Establishment was extremely clean which I super appreciated I did a mobile pickup since there was an event on in kakaako and I couldn't find parking and had to have someone walk to get it. The creme brulee was divine and I also got the brown sugar boba. Highly recommend both. They traveled well although I can imagine they would've been even more delicious if we ate them in-store The biggest disappointment was not from sun tea but finding out the massive mark ups on these items when you order through Yelp. I never thought I would say this but these days milk tea places are popping up like crazy and getting quite competitive. I can't barely keep up with all these new milk tea shops if it wasn't for my yelp milk tea addicts. Sun Tea Mix is an urban shop located in Kaka`ako near by Salt at Kaka`ako. I'm not sure if there's free parking so I just parked on the street. I know they're known for their souffle but I have to save that for next time. I tried one of my usual jasmine milk tea with konnyaku. Konnyaku is a Japanese jelly. It really doesn't have much taste. I thought it went well with my flavorful jasmine milk tea. So, I really hope that when this pandemic is over I can return with a friend and try their souffle and hangout here. read more

Wandering in the area in search of boba tea I stumbled upon this little drink store on the edge of town. The concept was unique enough as the menu called for fruit and one had to wonder if this was a rendition of another smoothie place. But..it's not! The teas are more than fruit infused they are filled with fresh fruit. My oolong fruit tea was filled with a fresh watermelon, apple slices, lime, lemon, passion fruit and soaked in oolong. The drink was so refreshing and fresh flavored with a light sweetness. You could also eat the watermelon chunks and apple slices after drinking your tea. The price is a little steeper than most drink places but there is a 50% special on Fridays. I would like to try the boba in the future but I will return for the fresh teas. read more

I discovered this place when walking to H Mart. Another charming boba place popped up that I just need to try out. The interior was clean and modern, it's unfortunate that they are not accepting dine-in at the moment. The menu was also a little different from other boba places. They seem to focused more on fruit drinks over milk teas. I visited this place a couple of times with a friend and we tried: Matcha latte with cheese foam: Pretty good drink. The matcha latte is iced and mixed pretty well with the milk. It wasn't powdery at all. Cheese foam was good, it creates a bit of saltiness to the drink. Brown sugar boba milk: We tried brown sugar boba milk tea in other places, however this place doesn't have "tea" in the drink. The boba was warm so the drink was warm even though there were a good amount of ice in it. Boba was soft, sweet, and chewy. However, it did became harder after 20 minutes. The drink tasted like sweeten milk. I think I prefer to have tea mix into the drink. Strawberry smoogurt: Another yogurt drink with vanilla flavor yogurt, purée strawberries, and clear jelly on the bottom. This wasn't my favorite drink. The strawberries were good, but the flavor of the yogurt didn't suit my taste. The jelly at the bottom was good. Lilikoi and pineapple tea: My favorite drink so far. Such a cool and refreshing flavor. There were bits of pineapple chucks and lilikoi seeds in the drink. Perfect to beat the summer heat. Creme brûlée soufflé: Pretty good soufflé. The pancake was soft and it melts in your mouth. The creme brûlée sauce was pretty good. It was little sweeter than I would have prefer. The soufflé took about 10-20 minutes to make which wasn't that bad. The toasted sugar on top of the soufflé sticks to the top of the container that it comes in because of the heat. I also don't like the pressure of limited time (even though it's covered parking. I heard that the spaces are narrow). LOCATION: if you are standing on Keawe Street, facing the new H Mart, Sun Tea Mix is to the left - about couple of shops down the sidewalk. SERVICE: friendly and efficient. The gal that took the order, remembered me and brought me my drink when it was ready! ENVIRONMENT: clean and bright! Cute decor! Instagramable walls! Cool air conditioning! About a month ago, we heard some friends talk about the soufflé pancakes. Then Tin posted pictures of these amazing looking pancakes so it's been on our list of things to try. We called in our order today and found street parking nearby. We were a little early and they were still making it so we ordered mango milk and lilikoi pineapple drinks. Both were flavors we never tried before either. Due to covid, we took a quick snapshot of the strawberry soufflé pancake before they packed it to go. I agree with Lyla's review, it has a spongy egg taste. It's not sweet, it's very light. But for our taste buds, we like the other soufflé pancake place better. So if you're wanting to try this place for the beverages, the ones we ordered were refreshing! The mango milk with boba sure was different than what we've ever had before. The name "Sun Tea Mix" reminds me of steeping Lipton Tea bags in a gallon glass container filled with water placed in the sun for a couple of hours. Did you ever do that, too? Now I'm lazy and just enjoy driving all over town to all of the yummy tea shops across Honolulu, including this fairly new one located in Kaka'ako. Really excited that it's within walking distance from work. Love the white interior! Love their drinks! Love the packaging, especially the cute lil label they stick on the cap. It reads: "Enjoy a fine and complex taste of cheese foam and fresh tea in one sip by lifting up the cup to a 45 degree angle. Sip from the lid. Consume within 30 minutes for the best taste." Now if the drink comes with any toppings, you'll want to use the boba sized straw. Tilting your drink still provides the same enjoyment of the complex drink of your choice! I haven't tried their soufflé, but I have tried four different drinks which are all pretty excellent! My two favorites are the Ice Cream Watermelon Tea with Cheese Foam and Peach Oolong Tea with Cheese Foam. The Watermelon tea is the most refreshing drink which offers a variety of textures to enjoy! The blended watermelon bits are crunchy, the jellies and squishy and sweet, and the cheese foam is creamy with a hint of salt. It's wonderful! Parking? I usually zoom right into the parking structure at 440 Keawe, which is the same garage for H Mart. So far, parking is free for up to 1-hour. Be sure to validate! I like that the Kakaako SALT area now has a new boba/ tea place. I'm frequently in the area and I love a good fruit tea or milk tea with boba. Now that H mart is open nearby, I could see the his place getting busy. The interior is really nice, I could definitely come here to do work, but because of Covid, they aren't allowing anyone to sit inside. Understandable, but it's a shame the space can't be used to it's full potential. I ordered a fruit tea. The advertisements are what got me. The fruit tea was advertised as having fruits like mango and lilikoi. It was also almost $8!!!!!!!!!i was like ok, well as long as it has my favorite fruits, it's worth it. Unfortunately, when I got my fruit tea, I was disappointed. It didn't have chunks of mango or lilikoi. The only pieces of fruit I could find were watermelon, orange, lemon and lime. I don't think it's worth the price. I have no idea where you should park. If you're lucky, you can park on the street. But those spots are usually full. The SALT lot is out of the question because I don't think this place is associated and therefore probably won't validate. I'll probably be back, but this definitely isn't one of my favorite places for fruit tea. They also don't have a stamp card or rewards system that I'm aware of. read more

It's very refreshing and smooth! I've also tried the watermelon with cheese foam which is good too but there's something about the strawberry & blueberry with cheese foam that I keep going back for. Their soufflé is also soooooo good. It's soft, smooth, fluffy, and tasty. All of their soufflés are yummy. The only thing that I hope improved is the wait time for these. Not all Milk Tea Boba joints are created equal. There's a hundred boba places on Oahu and I'm sure I've tried 99 of them. Each place unique in some way but pretty much and but different. The one thing that stands out for me with their tea is the Phoenix Oolong milk tea that is just exquisite. I rate milk tea by the quality of their brewed tea and trust me when I say you can taste quality in their tea. The milk also taste pretty wholesome, not the dried creamer which is pretty much detrimental to your health if consumed regularly. Every time I'm in Kakaako while shopping at HMART I will always pick myself up some of their milk tea. I've also tried their cloud cakes and yes they are also quite superb. The service is ok.. friendly. Their menu is pretty limited compared to other milk tea places but simplicity and quality seems to be what works for them! read more

Sun Tea Mix is the new kid on the block on Keawe street. Located in between Kira Hawaii and Oh! Sozai. I happened to be walking by and noticed an open sign. So of course, I could not resist and had to check them out. The inside is very nice! Its unfortunately that they opened during these crazy times. This would be a great place to get out of the house to hang with friends or do work on a laptop. I decided to try the Watermelon Smoothie ($7.49). I was disappointed that it only came in a large, I wish they offered a smaller size option. The smoothie itself was good and refreshing. I really like the konnyaku crystal jelly. I definitely want to come back to try the Creme brulee souffle pancake. A huge MAHALO to Sun Tea Mix for operating during this pandemic. read more

Oh so fluffy jiggly pancakes!!! I came here specifically for the creme brûlée soufflé pancake and I was not disappointed! We had called to place order and arrived around 20mins after as they said takes around 15mins to make. When we got there, they weren't ready but that's ok, We assumed cause we ordered the creme brûlée and the strawberry would take longer if they just had one stove area. We ordered drinks while we got there and I wasn't a big fan of their brown sugar boba. Soufflés pancakes are so fluffy and jiggly, that was worth every bite, they give you 2 in each. Creme Brûlée is my fave! The strawberry one was ok, not as sweet to my liking. read more

3/23/2020 Our State is under an Emergency COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) Stay At Home/Work From Home Order but luckily, the Order calls for "Restaurants and other facilities that prepare and serve food, but only for delivery or carry out'. While we were walking about the Kaka'ako neighborhood, we stopped in to Sun Tea Mix to place an order for their luscious looking soufflé pancakes. We knew that it would take about 10-15 minutes to prepare which is why we figured on placing the order while continuing our walk to SALT At Our Kaka'ako to order takeout poke bowls from Redfish. As of 3/22, the 20% Grand Opening discount has concluded. So, our order for the Crème Brûlée pancakes cost us $9.99 + HI State Tax. As we were placing our order, the owner started piping out the batter for another couple's and our order. We paid, got our receipt, and walked off to Redfish. We returned in about 15 minutes in time to watch one of the workers package and sauce our pancakes. Rushing home, I made sure to keep the container level. I think the pancakes "settled" a bit but were still fluffy and each pancake measured about 1" in height (sorry, I didn't use my measurement tool out because my husband was rushing me) and stacked up to be 2" high. The pancakes were airy, with pillowy-texture like Japanese sponge cake and a faint eggy-flavor. The silky cream sauce had a nice balance of vanilla and sweetness. There are other flavors such as classic, strawberry, brown sugar boba and mango (coming soon). NOTE: Please allow at least 15 minutes for your order to be prepared. We're looking forward to the time when we'll be able to dine-in at this new Kaka'ako café just so we can try these soufflé pancakes fresh from the griddle. read more

This shop is so cute, very clean and modern decor. We tried the strawberry & blueberry smoothie with cheese foam, strawberry with cheese foam, and the creme brûlée cheesecake. It was my first time trying cheese foam and it was really good - salty and sweet at the same time! Unfortunately I didn't like the actual smoothie much, the flavors tasted a little artificial to me. We didn't drink much of it and ended up tossing them. The owners did comment and I'll be sure to come back and try their other recommendations! The soufflé was awesome! It did take about 30 minutes to make. They pipe it out and slow cook it to fluffy jiggly goodness. I love soufflé cheesecakes and pancakes so this was right up my alley. They make it pretty perfectly. I got the creme brûlée, next time I'll try the strawberry and other flavors. Deserving of five stars on its own! Maybe I'll try some other drinks they have and hopefully like them better. read more

Great concept, fun drink options however staff needs better training. Example, only after an order is placed and paid for, they say "we're busy so do you mind waiting at least 20 minutes for your order?". It's a bit adolescent and common knowledge but, I get it. Good help is hard to find. read more

The teas here are great. Especially fruit tea! The strawberry lime tea is my favorite. The shop has lots of space to sit and it is clean and cool. Service is fairly quick and workers are nice read more
