Came in after I was done grocery shopping. My sister-in-law came to get a mani/pedi. They have something displayed on the window saying, "Free eyebrow wax with over $45 spent". My SIL's bill was well over that amount and she didn't need an eyebrow wax. She asked if I can have it and it was very nice of them to let me have it since I am growing some mean caterpillars! The lady that took me back was soooo not friendly. Probably because it was a free waxing. I was thinking...'relax!!!! You're gonna get a fatty tip anyway!!!!!'...she took me to the room, didn't even shut the door, was short and rude. She then told me to lay back and then proceeded place the wax on my brows. Holy cow was it hot!!!! What a stupid rude lady. I told just to clean them up! No shaping!!!! She then drops hot wax like right on top of my eyelid. She's just gobbling the wax on without even seeing if my eye was closed. She almost got inside my eyeball! All hell would've broken loose! She then finished and was like...okay done you can go. Honestly nice unless you say you don't want something then they get an attitude. Also not consistent when it comes to the quality.

The nail salon is very clean and the nail techs are friendly. The cheapest pedicure is $21. They have a HUGE selection of nail polish colors to choose from. I usually bring my own. They are next to Albertson's, so super convenient if you need to run some errands. read more

Dear Reviewers, This place is very nice. I used to go to a school nail place for my nails but lately I wanted to venture out and see if maybe there might be a place to go that wasn't scary. I went on Saturday January 3rd because of a recommendation from a friend. It's a cute and nice little place. The ladies seem very funny and shy except for an auntie that is very verbal and funny as well. Pros ×clean ×not long wait Cons ×little space for clients Another con I had if it is one would be wrongly quoted on the phone. The lady that answers always just says yes but when you get here be careful and check over prices and make sure you are being quoted right. I had called and spoke to a lady and asked how much a gel manicure was and I was told 25$ and I asked if it was alright to get glitter or have one nail different and french tip the lady kept saying "yes yes yes 25$ only we don't charge for different nail color on nails or French tip it's not extra" so I was under the impression that 25$ covers french tip and glitter and if I wanted 1 nail a different color they would but it's not. Any design you get they would charge 30$ I just got basic black top french with some glitter the lady told me that because I wanted glitter it would be a design and designs costs extra so that is why mines is 30$ not 25$ like I was quoted. Another con was the little spaces they have to work with as I sat in the first desk RIGHT by the register other clients kept bumping into me and they don't care they want to pay and leave but what about me? I'm still getting my nails done too. So my recommendation would be try to avoid that first desk and get one near the middle or back. read more

This place is really NICE and VERY VERY VERY CLEAN (upscale). I think they do an amazing job, I like it here and would definitely recommend if you live on this side of town. I'm originally from the east valley and I think this place is extremely cheaper compared to what I am use to paying I will definitely return. I was greeted upon entering and only had to wait about 10 minutes before going back to the waxing room. I only wanted an upperlip wax but the woman (did not get her name) made a face and insisted I also get an eyebrow wax. She then told me I could save $2.00 if I did eyebrows and upperlip. Went here since it was located near my apartment. I walked in and asked for a full set, and they changed it to gel without asking me. The lady who did my nails filed down too far on my nail bed and my "manicure: is crooked. She didn't listen when I said that I wanted round (oval) nail shape and corners of the nails were half rounded out and some were left pointed. She didn't remove excess cuticle and just left empty patched of nail where polish is supposed to go. I paid $45 for a gel manicure that was less than appropriate and I even tipped her. I have come here to get my eyebrows waxed for years but the last time I went, the woman doing my eyebrows didn't cool the wax before putting it on my eyebrows and it was extremely hot!! This place is horrible! I walked in and said I needed a fill. A lady started to do my nails. She had long, dirty fingernails and started like digging them into my nails and I was freaking out, worrying about infection. Finally I said stop it. Then a lady walked in and she just got up and left, she wasn't even close to being done with me!! After a few minutes I asked another worker where she went, she said she'd be right back. A few minutes later I got up and started walking back and said "what is she doing?" And they said she was waxing eyebrows. I will not be returning to this salon. I went in for a gel manicure and I asked for 4 different colors. I wanted 4 of my nails in a different color of nail polish, except for 2 that would be same color. I didn't want a design or anything special--JUST a regular polish using different singular colors. When I went to pay, the lady charged me additional for what she called "design charge" because I used more four colors although those four colors were not used on every nail. This additional charge was not mentioned to me prior to the mani, otherwise, I would have not gotten my nails done there. I find this ridiculous because she didn't design anything on my nail. More importantly, I had just complained about the large space between the color and the edge of my nail. Especially since I told her (when she first started) that while I understand that she can't paint touching the skin around my nail, that I wanted it as close as possible. Her response to my complaint was that she sees the space is a little larger than usual on some nails, and that she would do it better next time. Although this was not the first time that I am unhappy with the service, I continued to go because it is conveniently close to my house. However, today's events sealed the deal for me and I will not be a returning customer. read more

I am always happy when I get my nails here. I actually don't live in AZ, but frequently get my nails done here when I'm in town. In fact, this is the only place I'll go when I'm in AZ. They are VERY clean and even have liners in the tubs for extra cleanliness. They are a bit on the pricey side. But, other than that, they are fantastic. read more

I had a bad experience going to Aloha Nails on McDowell, so I decided to try this place by my house. I went there just to get an acrylic nail on my amputated finger and just to clean the cuticles from the other fingers. This lady named Nina did a good job but when we got to the register to pay she whispered to my ear that she was going to charge me $16 because she cleaned the cuticles too. I went to this salon for 13 years. I saw very little changeover with the girls. This place is immaculate and I never had an issue while having my nails done, I went to Amber. She is sweet, gentle and my nails always looked perfect. She did a wonderful eyebrow wax. Unfortunately I moved away, but I still fondly think of Sun West Nail and how great it was to have Amber. Ugh! Avoid at all costs!! My wife has gone there a few times and the staff always speaks to each other in Vietnamese (I think, I don't speak Vietnamese). As a person who is bilingual myself, I know that it's INCREDIBLY RUDE to speak in a language that others in the room (ESPECIALLY YOUR CUSTOMERS) can't understand. Additionally, they apparently talk about and make fun of their customers in Vietnamese (from my wife's first hand experience). Also, they frequently do a poor job and occasionally decide they know better than you do regarding what you need or want and change you order. read more

Went here and had a set of nails removed three weeks ago because it looks like I was allergic to the product. We took them off to let my hands heal for a couple weeks I went back they put them on within a week they were all breaking they were way too thin. I went back a week ago and had them done again said I needed them a bit thicker some are way too thick. I just noticed that two of my fingers are splitting open again so I called to talk to one of the ladies and she's like what do you want us to do? I said well can we take them off and try putting on acrylic?She's like just take them off I think that's what you should do. I said but I just want to get acrylic . She's like what do you want us to do I said well can we try acrylic? I don't know what to do for you, so twice I've gone been charged for nails that were horrible both times and not even mention of offering my money back. The price list says a gel fill is $23 but when it was time to pay the lady tells me $33! I ask her why and she replies something to do with shaping my nails. I ask her seriously? You charge an extra $10 from the price listed to shape nails? Isnt filing and shaping part of a fill?!?!? Her response was $33 even?
