We went to this small spot thinking we could dine in but it is take-out only! We ordered orange chicken with pork fried rice and an egg roll as well as krab rangoons to share. It was certainly enough to share for 2 people but the quality was lacking. The orange chicken was good, soft tender chicken chunks but everything else was sub-par. The portion was quite generous (easily two meals for me), the chicken seemed to be of decent quality, the vegetables were fresh and not overcooked, and the sauce had a good viscosity (way too often, at way too many places, this dish turns out to be a goopy mess). It's a hidden gem. I have ordered pick up and have had it delivered. They also are dine in. The location is clean, the staff is friendly, the food service is always fast, and packaged perfectly. Solid 3 stars for this place. About 12 minutes into my to go order I come back inside and the guy goes "you're waiting for the kung pao chicken right"? SMH! I ordered kung pao shrimp. They fixed it, but the kung pao shrimp had wayy to much celery and was wayyyy too watery I'm used to a different kung pao shrimp. The Shrimp and Broccoli saved the day. This place has been here for forever. I do not come here real often because it's a hit or miss on both service and food quality. Inside dining area is small and all the walls are covered with money, which makes it pretty unique and fun. The night I went and dined in with my family was a very nice experience. Our server was attentive and friendly. We ordered fried rice, lo mein chicken, egg drop soup, wonton soup and mandarin beef. The soups were especially good. Great Chinese-American food! There's several Chinese takeout places in the general area and this is, by far, the best I've had. Their menu is pretty standard fare- but what they do is excellent quality at decent prices. The egg rolls actually were packed with pork, as was the fried rice. Their Shrimp In Lobster Sauce was very fresh tasting with big shrimp in it and the Egg Fu Young was obviously freshly made (many places make the omelette party's hours later and simply reheat it ) with lots of chicken in it. My parents have been ordering soup from this place for years so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered my childhood go-tos; General Tso's Chicken and Steamed Pork Dumplings. I was incredibly disappointed with the chicken. Upon your first bite, you can taste the flavor but its quite dull. After two bites, the flavor completely disappears. The chicken itself was very juicy, but a little soggy for my liking. The white rice was just okay, again- no flavor. But the pork dumplings were actually pretty good. I love to try different Asian restaurants, this place I found on a DoorDash menu. I just ordered a Wonton soup. It was delicious and the soup I've had in a long time. My BF says to just start making my lunch in advance and I try , but it never makes it out of the door; and that's How I ended up here. 1. For the Food it is Basic. That's it . It's Christmas. I'm a Jewish New Yorker. Put it together and that spells, Chinese food!!!! My husband -- neither Jewish, nor from NY -- thinks Lychee Garden is great. I wouldn't go that far. I think it's good. What I do like is that the menu is a throwback to what we used to get in Brooklyn. Things I don't usually see in contemporary Cantonese restaurants, i.e. old fashioned spareribs, subgum chow mein. Let's start with the subgum. It's not the diced vegetables I remember from days of yore. But that's okay. It's pretty good, if you're looking for a dish that's primarily vegetables. We wanted moo shu beef. Though listed on the menu, they weren't serving it. Quick on our feet -- didn't want to keep the server waiting on a busy night -- we took a stab at orange beef. The beef part was good; the sauce was gloppy. Add to the mix wonton soup -- I expected better -- and vegetarian dumplings. (eh.)
