I ordered the roche pork egg food lunch. When I got back home , there was not one piece of pork in that egg for young. I called to let them know and they justified. Maybe they just, you know, waved a hand and said, okay? The pork is in there, but there was none at all. And for the $11 that I paid plus a dollar extra for a soda, which it says that it's supposed to come with I would not recommend this place for anything.The food was not the greatest , and if I wanted a vegetarian egg for young , I would have ordered something like that , I wanted poor and I didn't get any. read more

Well, here I am again. Actually, I've been here 4 times this week. I'd get my usual and didn't want to provide you with the boring details. Today, I'm writing a review because I never had Hunan Beef. The thought of getting out of my lane was amusing so I asked if they would make me the dish without any spice. I brought it to my car and was happy to smell that distinctive aroma where everyone asks, "What is that dish?" I am proud to say that I had that dish sitting shotgun. When I got to work and opened it up, I saw these tiny rabbit like droppings. Surely this wouldn't be right on top and I'm sure they don't have a pet bunny hopping around. I have nerves of steel and tried one. It's definitely a black bean, but what kind? In runs Google. They are fermented black beans! I love this family run business. The guy that sees me almost everyday needs to stop calling me ma'am. At the same time, I need to stop calling him sir. Back to the Hunan Beef. Very good. I'll go back and ask for a little spice. An amazing family owned restaurant with extremely kind and patient staff. The prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. Obviously the earlier you go in the day, the better the food will be. That's true with any kind of restaurant of this nature. Overall, it's become a personal favorite and I'm a sucker for the fried rice. read more

Great little local neighborhood spot. The portions are very generous and the food is as consistently good as most Chinese take out spots. I'm not harsh on these places, because most of their food is mass produced, flash frozen, and then fried onsite. Needed somewhere quick to eat that wasn't exactly fast food and decided to give this place a try. It is located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. If you are trying to find it, it's the small place next to Autozone. As previously stated, the place is small, but there are 2 tables available if you decide to eat there. The menu is on the wall which makes it easier to just walk up and look for what you want. The prices are reasonable. I ordered chicken egg foo young which comes with gravy. This is definitely my wife and I's go to spot for authentic Chinese food in Broward! Great service. They are always fast.

I'd say Ruby Chen's is a 2.5 star chinese strip mall restaurant. Mediocre food but very friendly staff, and a clean kitchen. I had egg drop soup (2.5/5)- too eggy Sesame chicken w white rice- 2/5 Egg roll (3/5) Wouldnt go here again unless I couldnt find any other chinese place. I don't know why I've never tried this place. Very decent, inexpensive, Chinese food. Food was ready fast and still piping hot when I get home. Everything we ordered was pretty good. We got a beef and broccoli combo, General Tso's combo, chicken lo mein and wonton soup. One negative comment is that the fried rice is more Spanish style. Easily fixed with more soy sauce but not ideal. Overall a good option for something tasty and convenient. read more

Want food poisoning go here I did the night before a cruise. So fun throwing up General Tso's chicken all night to the point my throat was raw. Then asked for a refund and was told no. I was just passing through on a road trip carry out for the hotel. Funny the desk clerk at the hotel told me she has heard of many others getting sick from this place. I just moved into the neighborhood and was excited to try the new spot. I got the general tso's chicken lunch platter with wonton soup. The rice was bland and you couldn't even see the pork in it it was so thin. The chicken flavor was not general tso's. And the wonton soup was bland too. It's easy to get fooled because so many people go there but I guess these people have never had good Chinese. A lot of Mexicans go there. Mexicans usually eat bland rice. Since we have moved to the area (In June) We've ordered from here numerous times. Overall, this is a pretty good place. The prices are a little high. Typically I order the General Tso entree platter, which includes rice and an egg roll. I pay a $3 upcharge to substitute rice for plain lomein. The lomein tends to be a little heavy on the garlic, but still good. The General Tso is usually good, except for a few times it has been a little soggy. Egg rolls are great. The streamed dumplings are good too, although not everyone likes them bc the dough around the dumpling is really thick, but that's why I love them haha. My favorite part about this place is the customer service. The boy who delivers and answers the phones is so kind and has just a great energy! He makes the experience a fun one every time. This take out Chinese is located at a strip mall. I had low expectations because I only ordered because I didnt know of any good Chinese take-out places here in FLL because I just moved here. Well I cannot speak for the fried rice, but my daughter said it was good. I ordered the Seafood Delight and was very surprised that the number of shrimp and other seafood was pretty heavy. The quart fried rice was def better then the lunch special. Would I come here again ? Here how the meal went: Sweet & Sour Chicken, Fried Rice, and Vegetable Eggroll Combo ($8.25) - I was starving so I ordered the most generic - and safe - Chinese dish I could find that looked like a deal. All the menu pictures were faded out, but seriously what was there to worry about!? First off, the Styrofoam container this came in was filled to the brim and the sweet and sour sauce was served on the side in a plastic container. Once I cracked open the lid some chicken pieces tumbled out; there were a ton of them! However, there were no green peppers and sliced onions mixed in as expected, and frankly, the batter was overcooked and dry. Grab a piece and drown it in the sauce to soften it up. The fried rice was forgettable and barely had any other ingredients mixed with it; I think I found flecks of pork in there. I liked the eggroll as it was huge, thick, and filled with a ton of vegges. Natural lighting came through the windowed front walls, but at this time of day it was all about the bright fluorescent electric lighting inside. Little neighborhood spot for Chinese take away. They currently aren't doing delivery unless through a third party like Uber. The food is well priced and decent. There were about 3-4 tables so most people probably get take out which is what we did. After looking at the menu, we decided to get the large shrimp lo mein, sweet and sour pork (which came with white rice and sauce separate), and fried rice. The food was prepared within 10 minutes and we took it back to the hotel to eat. It was less than $20 and too much food for 2 people. The sweet and sour pork wasn't as I expected as ordered back home. It was battered and fried pork pieces that you dip in the sauce. The low mein came with decent amount of shrimp but wish there were veggies. The large would be enough to feed 2 people. Given the amount of food, we could have eaten full for about $15. A hidden ruby. Forgive me, but it's true. Tucked in a down-market strip mall between a Beall's Outlet and a Boost Mobile store, this place hits you with a great smell from the parking lot. A small, takeout-oriented restaurant with a couple small tables, staffed by a very friendly and efficient woman at the counter. I think Chinese restaurants are about the only business where deals are made on trust, I called and ordered dinner for 4 and wasn't asked for a phone number or a credit card number. You can see all the way back into the kitchen, which is nice. That way you can see everything being made when you order, rather than wondering if it's being reheated. The food was great, some of the best carryout I've had, certainly the best in Florida. A very good sweet and sour pork, which is usually inedible to my taste, but the batter was pretty much perfect: not too thick, not too thin. The General Tso's was also tasty, with the right mix of spice. Pan-fried dumplings were great: not soggy or underfilled, with a really nice, gingery sauce to accompany them. I was staying at the holiday inn express for some work travel when I found Rubys. The only thing disappointing is that I flew the next morning and could not finish this delicious meal. For Chinese food, I keep it simple and almost always order sesame chicken or orange chicken. Whichever I ordered was awesome and the portions were huge. The staff was great and very nice.
