Came to the Gulfstream to see the horses run and decided to get a bite to eat. Always wanted to try this Chinese restaurant since it's the old school Chinese food Chinese food . Honestly, I wasn't too impressed. The bowl with the rice and the shrimp wasn't too bad, but the chicken was not good at all. The chicken was so tough. When the waiter came around to ask if everything was ok, I was honest and told him that the chicken was very tough. Haven't been here in many years, but was very happy with the food. Authentic crispy egg roll hot out of the kitchen was delicious. Baby back ribs were a little bit on the small side, but prepared perfectly and what I would consider real Chinese baby back ribs the lobster Cantonese was also excellent And tasty. The only thing that was average was the roast pork lo mein. The service was impeccable and we did not want for anything. The wonton soup was also excellent. Christine Lee's is an Asian Fusion restaurant located at the Gulfstream Park, and horse racing is a major attraction there. There is also a casino there. We wanted to see the Christmas lights that were advertised for the entire park. To make a night out of it, we chose Christine's for dinner and the casino for an hour. We ordered a Lycheetini and a Merlot to start with. The Lycheetini was really good , but the Merlot was average quality that upset my digestive system later in the evening. For appetizers, we got the Crab Rangoon, and they were delicious. However, the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings weren't cooked long enough and did not taste right. We tried to send them back, but the server said that's how they are supposed to be. This was not our first time at a Chinese restaurant, and we knew better. After a small discussion, I was able to send my order back, and they took it off the bill. The Barbequed Spare Ribs are advertised as their long-time specialty of the house, so we felt confident ordering a plate of them. Unfortunately, they came out looking burnt, dark black. You can see them in my photos. We asked the server to please bring out a new plate with non-burnt ribs. I'm sure he was rolling his eyes by now, but there is no excuse to serve food that way. By the way, we are very polite and apologetic when we send anything back. Our server said that was how they were made. The same small conversation took place again, and he brought out a new batch that looked and tasted delicious! So much for the appetizers. The main courses were Mongolian Beef and Honey Garlic Chicken. We loved the Chicken, which was cooked perfectly. The Mongolian beef was more average and not as good as other places make it. The Special Fried Rice was made with chicken, pork, and shrimp. It was good. Our bill came to $157.51 for 2 people. They already included 18% for tip and took an "impact fee", whatever that is. Service is very good here. Our server was Yong, who was excellent at his job. No complaints of him at all. He was attentive and pleasant. I would rate him 5 stars. I think that their food items are overpriced for average tasting food. They need to step it up or lower their prices. The competition is out there. Restaurants are popping up everywhere! People want to get out again after Covid. This place was mostly empty. Our reservations were for 6:30pm. It should have been crowded during Christmas week. Hostess sat us without menus so we were overlooked by wait staff for 30 min. The rice was terrible. The Mongolian beef didn't have much flavor. The chicken skewers had absolutely zero flavor but very salty. Even though shrimp dumplings tasted very bland. I'm pretty sure Kristina Lee would be pissed off and know that her restaurant went to shit. I'm the type of person that hates to complain. But they really need to do better. We went because we had a gift card. It's in a nice area with other shops and things. Server was nice, food ok, I don't see a reason for us to come back. It's definitely overpriced as other reviews say. The cost minus the gift card is probably what you'd get at a regular Chinese restaurant would cost. I have been wanting to try this place out. I was in the neighborhood and so I finally did. The indoor sitting area looked nice and it was nice and cool. It had beautiful chandeliers. We sat outside. It had a nice view for us. We started with the Volcano Roll. Funny the rolls were plated to resemble a volcano lol. This was delicious. The rice tasted fresh and it had plenty of crab meat. Saturday afternoon for lunch & service is ok not great, seated outside on the patio with betting tellers and self service machines makes wagering on the track easy. Keeping it simple. Fried Wontons with dipping sauce of mustard and duck sauce best I've ever had could have made a meal of them. Hot & Sour soup also the best I've ever had 2 for 2! Special Wonton exceptional. Pork fried rice pretty standard good flavor, nice chunks of pork ample size. Lunch NY Strip Sandwich not as good as I remember but still a top quality sandwich with Steak Fries that were delish. Mongolian beef with no beef... I just moved back to Aventura, and had a craving for some Chinese. The place I usually order from is closed for vacation so I checked google, and there it was Christine Lee's!!! I remembered eating there so many times in the past at the old location. Quickly called and placed an order for some Mongolian beef and white rice Picked it up and took it home, Small container with a lot of white and green onions and I do mean A LOT!!! Now don't get me wrong I love onions both white and green and the sauce was good with the white rice, but...... Where was the beef? It's called Mongolian beef on the menu right? I counted 2 larger very thin slices and maybe 6 extra little pieces of beef, that was it, now it's not my intention to just criticize the lack of beef, I would actually just eat the white rice with the onions and the sauce if that was on the menu, but I'm sure I ordered and paid for the Mongolian beef and I expected some MORE beef. I hope the restaurant sees this as constructive criticism not even mentioning the word bad once, just please put some beef in the Mongolian beef dinner (it was not from cheaper lunch menu specials) Give the customer what they expect when ordering their food. This place is an expensive Applebee's with chandeliers. Very far from fine dining. This is bad, food-court-in-the-mall food. I did my research I read the Yelp reviews before I came but it was much worse than I expected. Do not order raw fish sushi I ordered a tuna roll and could not eat it on account of how gross it looked. I'm not taking any chances getting sick at this place. Gulfstream is such an unbelievable mess that if you asked them to call an ambulance the track would probably dial you a dominos pizza. The hostess with hideous dreads and a terrible attitude set us at a dirty table. We had great weather so sitting outside was nice. we were parched and after our drinks were ordered they were never filled again. The older staff is good but that is not who we had the pleasure of interacting with. If you table looks "clean" check the seats because they probably wiped all the dirt from the table onto the seats. Christine Lee located on the ground level right in the main center part of Gulfstream. I went here years ago when they were located over looking the track. What a magnificent view. So due to Covid 19 my regular Chinese food restaurant is closed. I contacted Christine Lee early on and they even delivered to me at that time in Hollywood Lakes. Unfortunately the secret got out so the next time I wanted delivery it wouldn't have made sense to wait so I went here and picked my food up. It gave me a chance to get out of the house as well as see their new location. That is when I get the info that Gulfstream made them move as they wanted the space for Events. Now for the important stuff, the food is delicious albeit expensive but you know the saying you get what you pay for. We ordered the fried rice, pork fried dumplings, their spare ribs are their specialty and you will definitely suck the bones clean. So our group had a decision for dinner tonight... pay for a meal at Olive Garden or eat at Christine Lee's for free. We came to Christine Lee's and that was the wrong decision. I ordered the "world famous" prime sirloin steak (16oz)... what a mistake. Outback Steakhouse has this place heat 10 times out of 10... and I'm not even a fan of outback! I ordered the steak med rare but it was cooked extremely unevenly. Even the parts that were medium rare tasted awful. The meat was extremely tough... I had to really work just to cut it. And it was $54! I get if you're at Applebee's paying $15 for a steak if this happens... but how in the world does it happen at a place like this! The steak also came with a salad and sweet potato fries. The salad was pathetic... just a handful of cheap iceberg lettuce. The highlight of the meal was the sweet potato fries. They were cooked well (slightly crispy, not too soft) and came in a generous portion. My wife ordered the half Peking Duck which was so disappointing. The skin was decently crispy but the meat was rather dry. The duck was better than the steak by a mile though. We also ordered a couple of traditional sushi rolls and a yellowtail hand roll. One roll came with rice puffs which I've never had before and will never have again... just wasn't my thing. The hand roll was actually decent... the rice was cooked well but the seaweed was a bit tough. I'll note that my wife actually loved the hand roll. The others in our group ordered the Christine special and Steak Kew. The steak kew was cooked with filet which was way more tender than the sirloin. Still, it was over cooked which pretty much ruins steak. The Christine special had a lot going on... the noodles were tasty but the scallops were awful. Again, significantly over cooked. Total bill for 4 without alcohol was just under $300 and not one dish was any good except for the sweet potato fries. The service was pleasant. Based on the articles on the wall, it seems like this place used to be a highly respected establishment. It's sad to see how poor the food has become and how bad many of the reviews are. read more

Since I work nearby I normally go to Christine Lee's for a quick lunch. Today I decided to actually dine in just to see the atmosphere and see if it's a good restaurant. I normally get something like a poke bone or a spicy tuna roll(which are very good) but today I decided to get a salad. Had dinner last night with my mother and wife. All three of us had agonizing stomach aches throughout the night and continued into the next day (still ongoing). A friend who's a former New Yorker has been bugging us to go to this place for months. He built it up so much that I was skeptical. Could it really be that good? I've been repeatedly disappointed in Chinese food down here and the one restaurant here in FTL that was half way decent closed down last year. Well, good news... I was not disappointed! Totally the NY/NJ style Chinese food that I'm used to. Cashew chicken in a nice thick brown sauce, great spare ribs, and egg drop soup. Huge portion of ice cream for desert. Thought I could never finish it. In the end I even ate the waffle bowl it came in! When I sat down at the table and joined my friends that were already there I was disappointed to see what appeared to be LaChoy skinny wonton noodles on the table. Really? That's not legit NY style. Welp, a few minutes later they delivered two huge platters of fried wonton strips that were just like home. I must have eaten half the plate! They were still warm!
