    Isnt this against Yelps practices?
    Aaron S.

Sunac Fancy Food is a deli/convenience store in Chelsea, NYC - as it was round the block from my hotel I was given a voucher by Hilton New York Fashion District to have my breakfast here, a quite generous amount of $12.50 (due to the hotels kitchen being renovated and unable to serve food) The food here is pretty cheap and the prices in the convenience store were reasonable and followed the average pricing of similar stores nearby in NYC. That, alongside the good selection of Starbucks Teavana iced teas with multiple flavours including the ones they don't even sell in most Starbucks stores, is probably the only good thing about this place. Again - the staff here struggled to understand cross-contamination and gluten, and I took a big risk eating here - if it wasn't for the recommendation by my hotel and the voucher, I would have probably walked straight out when he asked me if seasoning the potatoes with salt and pepper meant it was gluten - he also told me the potato hash contained gluten but not how/why. In the end I opted for a ham and cheese omelette - I was disappointed again, I found the cheese to be really watery and the ham was cut into big, chunky pieces and that didn't go well into the omelette - it has no crispiness and it seemed they were entering a competition alongside my second visit to Trump Café for the worst omelette in New York. I hoped the potatoes would be the saving grace and at least give me something to hold my appetite until I could find somewhere better to eat, but they were perhaps even worse - some of them were stone cold, they weren't even cut into any designs - they were bland as fuck and also hard to the point I couldn't even finish them without spitting them out. The servers at the kiosk didn't seem friendly either - they also didn't help a disabled customer reach the disabled seating area, as there were multiple trays and boxes and even a ladder in the way - I mean come on, how do they expect disabled customers to go upstairs? This area should be free at all times and for it to be cluttered is careless and probably just as disgusting as the boulder potatoes. Cheap food means nothing if it tastes cheap and is in parts inedible, and if it's supported by sucky service, lack of gluten-free knowledge and even breaking Yelp's terms by having a sign ASKING FOR GOOD REVIEWS (I mean come on - not cool! There are "People Love us on Yelp" stickers etc for that.) 1*

    Rare Roast Beef Sandwich

Great lunch spot in Chelsea. My go to is their rare roast beef sandwich... roasted red peppers, horseradish, cheddar, lettuce, tomato on a tomato basil roll. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had!

A fantastic $9.25 egg sandwich. 2 eggs over easy, bacon, grilled chix, avocado, onion, tomato, on wheat toast

SUNAC is my go to for everything from fresh juices to egg sandwiches (when I'm feeling lazy and not making them at home), to soups, inexpensive but decent sushi, salads and fresh cold/hot food in their food bars, quick groceries at a premium, a quick in and out and they're almost always open. I will not go here for my coffee...it's just not that good. You guys need to step up your coffee game please...there are several Starbucks' and other coffee joints closeby so feel free to patronize those. THIS has been a review by Gaurav

    Chicken pad Thai

I went here twice in one day. They made one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. It was bacon, egg and cheese with avocado. Then I came back for some delicious chicken pad Thai for lunch. The portion was huge. I could only eat half of it and it was very reasonably priced at $8.75. The service was quick and friendly. Everything looked freshly made for the grab and go options. I didn't try the hot bar but it was a little over $10 per pound. Upstairs eating area is small, but I was glad they even had space at all for diners. I recommend this place!

This is my stop during break from class across the street. It's too late for coffee (sorry Sbux), I save pizza for test days, and McDonalds has nothing for me. But Sunac is my savior. This is a highish-end grocery/deli. They have a hot bar, salad bar, premade foods, and an actual deli (which is usually closed by the time I get there). The hot bar is so-so, as is often the case. The salads are usually pretty good and fresh. The soups are my favorite. I almost always get soup here. They also have snacky-snacks, candy bars, and high-end groceries. Lots of organic brands. I've gotten a couple sandwiches, and they've been good. Smoothies are good too, but pricey for the size. By the way, price is my biggest issue here. I always spend more than I want to. $7 minimum for credit card. Overall, this is a great place for running in and grabbing a bite. I don't think I'd eat here every day, but if you need something a little more wholesome than fast food or your standard deli, and you're in a rush, this is a good choice!

    Pastrami Sandwich: $6.75
    Paul V.

Allow me to set the stage dear reader: Between 0200 and 0400 in the wee hours of Saturday morning after two too many games of pool and at least seven too many brews. A buddy and I are stumbling along our merry way in search of something to soak up our sins and I'm quickly told that Sunac is likely our best bet for reprieve. I hesitate. Late night hybrid Italian specialty stores and delis are often a mixed bag, but it's not like we've been presented with a cornucopia of options. Sunac it is. Spoiler alert? It was just what we needed, and I'd go back in a heartbeat. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? While I was in no shape to be picky with regard to the service at Sunac as I'm sure I was a liability myself, both the man behind the counter and the cashier were friendly, and somehow managed to piece together exactly what I managed to slur up in the form of a food order. Of note is the fact that Sunac is as clean as it is spacious, and in that I was in and out in under five or so minutes was a welcome treat. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Maybe not surprisingly, the below picture of my $6.75 hot pastrami sandwich with abundant lettuce, mustard, and jalapenos, is blurry, but all you need to know is that I didn't regret spending that $6.75 for a hot minute. There's value here even if I don't have a clear picture to prove it. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Shortly after ordering my pastrami sandwich I watched the man behind the deli counter take out some meat and slap it in the microwave. At the time this was a real kick to the gut, as my expectations for a quality sandwich went the way of Arby's or Subway. However, microwave or not, my meat was combo'd with fresh bread and veggies that turned out to be an absolutely marvelous finished product. The meats here, like everything else, are of the highest quality, and I was blown away at the leanness of the pastrami. This wasn't some greasy spoon mutant that leaked questionable juices but instead a fresh blend of flavor and consistency that thoroughly hit the spot. All in all? A very good sandwich. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Are there better sandwiches in the city? Sure there are, but I'm so impressed with the service, atmosphere, and consistent quality at Sunac (even in the wee hours of the morning) that I'm going to dish out this star here. Well done. Star Granted.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water.
