Our new home had a few electrical issues...nothing big, but since the home warranty came with the house, why not use? I submitted the claim and got dispatched Sunbelt Electric. Of course the next thing I did was check Yelp for reviews. So, if you have read some of them, you can understand my apprehension. After playing phone tag with the receptionist, I scheduled an appointment. They could have gotten me in earlier, but I was not looking to miss work. The receptionist offered me a 7 AM appointment, which I took. So after contact, I had him here in 3 days at the time I wanted. I got the call ahead of time and who was it? Frank Santella. Ok, now after reading the reviews, again even more concerned. I have to be honest I was not expecting much, but was not going to make a decision until I met him and had dealt with him. As I have learned...lots of people Yelp restaurants, and many times are very reliable, but the service industry (plumbers, electricians, doctors, laundry, etc) are lacking. And I am sorry, you carry no weight with me when you have 3 friends and 1 or 2 reviews and shred someone...or give them 5 stars for that matter. First, Frank called when he was 15 mins out, and arrived right on time. He was nice and professional. Presented me with his business card and asked to see the issues. Showed him the problems. Told me up front, he did not think the warranty company would cover one of the three, but the other two would be easy fixes. He tackled the problems and was finished in about 30 mins. He called the home warranty company to inquire about the last repair. He was correct. Further, he even stressed to the company the importance of the company calling me to explain, to which they did. Frank knew his stuff, was friendly and honest. I went back and read reviews again. I get it is extremely frustrating when a homeowner has a problem they need fixed. It is even more frustrating when the home warranty company uses some BS reason to get out of paying for it to get fixed. But for goodness sake people, quit taking it out on the service guy. Frank is solid! Would call him and Sunbelt again in a second. Cannot go 5 stars because my limited issues did not allow me to see the full gamut of things they can fix. read more

I would give a zero if possible. This was a call through 210 Home Warranty. Simple problem with a simple fix by a competent contractor. Service person was rude and either incompetent or a fraud. Tried to get me to authorize opening a wall to search out the problem of a porchlight staying dimly lit when off. This after trying to convince me that it was an LED bulb and they can store electricity and remain on for hours after turning them off. I pointed out that there was still 30 volts in the socket and that's when he determined it was bad wiring inside the wall. I called a competent contractor the next day and learned it was just the lighted light switch that was passing voltage to the fixture. The smart guy was here 10 minutes charged me $60 for the call and $5 for a non lighted switch. The appearance of fraud could be related to the 210 Home Warranty outfit as I've had similar experiences with 2 a/c contractors and 2 appliance guys. Of the 5 contractors to the house no one has fixed a problem. The Sunbelt office people were rude also with regard to collecting their $75 fee up front prior to scheduling the work, even though the warranty contract specifically states the payment is collected at time of service . I would surmise from this that there are many customers that refuse payment. Is it any wonder. read more

After being without electricity for several days in a good part of my house and having someone help by doing a quick sideways fix just to get my lights back on............ here are the facts on my solution provided by SUNBELT, INC. I made a service request on a Sunday and was called back right away. They offered to come out the following morning ( a holiday I may add ) but for me it worked a couple days later. Anyway- Frank, my responder came out, detected the problem and literally within hours had dispatched another team member to come out and complete my job. I should have listened Mary H. review. I recently had a bad experience with Sunbelt as well. My home warranty sent them out to my home to look at an electrical problem in my living room. Three outlets had no power. Let me tell you, just scheduling was hard enough. Frank wouldn't give me a weekend appointment because "they don't do emergencies on weekends". He said he would have to have someone call back and find where he can fit me in. I thought it was odd, when someone has to call an electrician it's because something is wrong. I told Frank, it was not a problem. That he could fit me in any weekend he could. So he fit me in about 2 weeks later. So Frank arrived a Saturday morning. I noticed that he seemed aggravated. I didn't think nothing of it. Since many times people come across one way and are actually not how they seem. He started looking around. He asked who had put a GFCI on. I told him one of our neighbors did.. He then asked who installed our other items (fan and light fixtures). I told him a family member. He then pointed out to me that things were put in wrong and that he couldn't find the problem. He said it was too much of a job. At this point I was uncomfortable. Not at what he told me but how he told me. I mean it is my first home. I want to feel proud of finally buying a home. I wished my husband had not left to work. I felt put down. There is a nicer way of saying things, without making people feel dumb. Finally, Frank said he could not fix it. He said the home warranty would call me to see if they would cover the repair or not. Frank told me he did fix my wire on my ceiling fan (he went up the attic to move wiring around). Something that we never told him needed fixing. He then charged me a "trade fee". Well he left my home warranty called me and denied the claim. Which was a bummer, but rules are rules. Well when I go to turn fan on, guess what happens? My fan does not go on. It was working perfectly fine before Frank had came and moved its wiring. So basically I was charged for someone to come and mess up my fan. So as of now my fan is not turning on. Let's see how my next appointment goes. Since Frank said he would come back to fix my fan. I would love it If I receive a response from Sunbelt on Yelp. Also I was told that Sunbelt only takes cash or checks. Well false! It says it allover their website and on Yelp that they take credit cards. I had to go to bank and take money out with 3 children. Kole was the technician that came out to fix my light switch. Not only was kole efficient, he was very knowledgeable and a really nice guy, I'm very happy my home warranty uses this company because it's not always a great experience with companies your home warranty uses to fix things in your home unlike the experience I had with sunbelt. I'm definitely at ease now that I know sunbelt will be handling all of my electrical needs for my home. read more

Sunbelt Electric was chosen by American Home Shield, my home warranty company to look at the smoke coming out of my electrical sub panel. I explained the electrical history that the panel had smoked a few months ago and some breakers were replaced. He said the wires were loose and that caused the smoking and he replaced a breaker. I have George Brazil here now and he showed me the breaker that was replaced and the wrong breaker was put in. Also, the breakers are arcing and there are a lot of burn marks and the panels need to be replaced. I already thought that because I saw the burned up breakers, back of the breakers and wires when Sunbelt came out. Sunbelt didn't do their job and I believe it's because they got the job from American Home Shield which is famous for doing band-aid fixes. With electrical issues go with with a reputable electrical company. It's not worth dying in a fire dealing with the flim flam operators. read more

Our ac distributor blew at midnight and unfortunately communication lead to Sunbelt being issued a work order. Their service department walked me through exactly what I needed and gave me all the info to get the right work order and service issued. They had zero obligation to give me 15 minutes of their time to get things corrected in the sweltering heat. Amazing customer service even when we didn't end up being a customer after all! read more

Absolutely the worse company I have ever dealt with. Customer service extremely unpleasant. Very matter of fact negative responses from technician ( I can't do it) obviously the plugs had a loose connection since sometime it worked and sometime it didn't he wouldn't even look at it. I then called office with my disbelief and Candy said our hands are tied she wasn't any better. I have never heard I can't from so many people in one company. I have a home warranty company that I originally placed the service through to check/fix two plugs that would work sometime and not. Just so happens both were working when Sunbelt Electric was here, He stuck a lightbulb in it and said its working can't do anything with it. For $75.00 fee I could of done that. This company answered my rescue call on Sat afternoon and Frank arrived for the rescue on early Sunday morning. Frank is so courteous and professional that I have no clue why some other reviews were given him a bad review. Frank quickly diagnosed the problem to be the bad breaker and he pointed out the sloppy job done by the by the previous technician. It took less than 15 min for him to finish the repair and I am so impressed with the way he talks to the customer and how he cares about safety. I believe the previous bad reviews were due to incorrect work done by the non licensed electricians and they expected the Home Warranty company to fix these problems with a service call. The Sunbelt tech was in our home for literally 4 minutes and I have the alarm company log to prove it. The call was for garage door lights, laundry room lights and kids' ceiling fan. When I opened the door to greet him, he told me the light bulbs I was using for the garage were wrong. He took 2 seconds to look at the laundry room lights then told me that those are not covered in my warranty then proceeded to the kids' room to look at the ceiling fan. He took pictures then he said he's got another house in the area to go to. And, this is what I'm being charged $75 for? Nothing! read more

Received their services as part of a home warranty claim for a broken ceiling fan. First technician shows up, determines it is in fact the fan and not an electrical issue but does not have a fan with him. Says they will order one and come to install. Shortly after I see the claim has been closed by Sunbelt as a completed service and the next day a new home warranty claim is open. They come by a few days later and install the replacement fan. Days later I have a charge on my home warranty for a second claim. 2 claims for one broken ceiling fan? If you have a choice in electrical companies, choose one that doesn't put their customers through this nonsense. They're not worth the hassle that I'm now going through. read more

My experience was through AHS (home warranty) Terrible customer service. The sent a technician out on Tuesday and he explained he couldn't look at the fan because he did not have a ladder. I explained on Sunday PRIOR to them coming to the home that it was a two story ceiling. He had to come back on Thursday and stated that I was to provide the ladder. Why would I provide a company with the supplies that they need? They refused to fix or even look at the fan. He was RUDE and intimidating to my mother and now I can't trust him coming back to the home especially with my mother. She felt very uncomfortable. She immediately called me on the phone and he was yelling at her. Next time I told her to call the police. read more

Do not use this company. They sent out to analyze to troubleshoot a problem in the electrical system that was not properly trained to do so in my opinion. Now my home warranty company will not cover me for the issue that is at fault and told me if I wanted to correct the problem I'd have to do it myself at my own expense. I called this company up and asked them to send a master electrician to analyze the problem and they told me they would not do so that the problem has already been analyzed. My home warranty will not cover the issue because the problem was improperly analyzed in my opinion. Now I am stuck fixing fixing the issue at my own expense. At the breaker box I have a AGFI Breaker, the analyst replaced it with a normal breaker to test the problem when I told him that he would have to put an active GFI breaker in the box to test the issue he told me he wouldn't do so and left with my active GFI breaker in his van. He had to return later in the day after I complain to his company to return my active GFI breaker and to put my active GFI breaker back in the box. Very poor service. read more

If you need an electrician, you need to call Frank. Monday evening, with an full basket of clothes needing to be washed, my dryer stops working. I call an appliance repair man who tells me that the problem is possibly with the breaker, not the unit. I had taken off from work just to get this handled and now I needed to call in another company. I needed an electrician fast if I was going to have my dryer back in working order by this evening. After calling a few companies I was able to get through to Frank who said he would be able to make it over within a couple hours. After describing my situation he already had a pretty good idea as to what was wrong and what might be the solution. He was here for about 30 minutes before he had solved my issue. His price was more than affordable and I now have a working dryer again. Thank you so so much Frank for fitting me in and for fixing my problem! Absolute worst company I have ever worked with. This is who American Home Shield works through and its been almost 2 weeks and after 2 electricians and hours of phone calls trying to get answers, no one has even begun fixing my electrical issue. First electrician was Connor. He was super rude and basically accused us of sabotaging our own wiring. Required us to cut out a 4'x4' square in our ceiling before he'd look at the wiring. We have a fully accessible attic that he never even bothered to check for access. Second electrician was Sam. He was very professional and at least diagnosed the problem but said he would have to check with the home warranty. Its been 6 days and no one from Sunbelt Electric Inc. or American Home Shield has bothered to let me know what's going on. Every time I call Sunbelt Electric puts the blame on American Home Shield and vice versa. If you want your electric fixed in less than a month, don't want to cut your ceiling out for no reason, and want their office to ever call you back or give you an honest answer, don't choose this company. read more

Seemed great at first but got impatient with the "I have to go sign this" and I've been "xy years in the business" speech after we asked a few questions once he was "done." Scheduled by AHS warranty company to check out a electrical panel that caught fire. The technician came out and on a full panel said he would replace a few breakers by moving them...mind you, you can see there was a fire!!! I requested he pull other breakers to check them and he refused. I had another electrician do it and we found more burnt ready to start yet another fire. When I called I left two messages for a supervisor to find out they went home at 1:30pm in the afternoon and refused to call back. We first had a plumber come out, who said that it wasn't the tank and it was indeed the wiring as the issue was the fuse box. I called SunBelt Electric to come check this out and also fix our doorbell. The electrician was there for 15 minutes to proceed to be a lazy POS and said that it didn't seem to be the wiring and that I should get a plumber out. I told them 2 times at least that they would need a 20ft step ladder to reach it.. So they send out their electrician with no ladder. I have scheduled a service request through my home warranty and have scheduled a service for two dead electrical outlets and they have hired Sunbelt Electric INC and after visiting the house, the electrician never called me or sent me a report about the issue. I had to call them first and told me to reach my home warranty as they do not discuss or give any service reports to their insured costumers. My tenants said that the electrician came to the house but only spent 5 minutes inside to check for power on both outlets. The electrician did not check the electrical panel in case there was a tripped circuit or pulled the outlets out of the wall to see if the wires were disconnected. Instead they said they needed access to get to the wall and therefore my insurance will not cover the service. I was disappointed and felt like I was treated unfair from both my home warranty company and Sunbelt Electric and felt like they were just trying to "get paid". I was afraid I was going to spend money not only on a technician to open the wall and fix the wires but pay a contractor to come home and re-patch the wall. Second time I called Sunbelt Electric INC I asked for a more detailed report and expressed my concern on why the technician never opened the outlets or looked at the electrical panel. They claimed that their technicians are extremely careful during their inspections and have many years in the field and even suggested to get a second opinion from another electrician. I could not complain to them or ask for my money back as I had a contract with my home warranty. I then called my home warranty company and they said that the opening fee to have access to the wires was 175 (this is what Sunbelt Electric INC is charging) and the repair of the wall will not be covered either by my home warranty. I then decided to get another opinion and hired another electrician who came to house and pulled out the outlets only to find out that the wires were not connected properly. He fixed all outlets within 20 minutes avoiding opening the wall which saved me a lot of money. I really think that Sunbelt Electric INC was trying to milk my money. The electrician probably figured out that it was a rental home and I was in another state and would be easy to convince me to do work that was not needed. read more

This company SUNBELT ELECTRIC does not not even warrant a ONE star!!! I started having electrical issues when my granddaughter was running the blow dryer in her room and the blow dryer started shutting off randomly which included her room light to shut off too. Naturally, I went out to the panel box to reset the breaker, but to my dismay no breaker had popped. Then I started noticing more trends, guest bath light and fan would not work, outlet in the dining room would not work, living room outlet where my electric fireplace has been plugged in for years was not working. The icing on the cake was when we all got up one morning to get ready for work and school, and without having anything turned on or plugged in (blow dryer, vacuum, lamp, etc.) we were without lights and power to part of our home. Once again I went out to the panel box, and once again no breaker was popped so I could not reset it. My grandson had to use a battery operated lantern to be able to take a shower before heading out to college. It was almost as if something was getting over heated, because after a while, our electric would just randomly turn back on all by itself, which was very concerning. I currently have a home warranty through Fidelity National Home Warranty and Fidelity subcontracted SUNBELT ELECTRIC for my home. AJ was the receptionist I spoke with initially and by the way she is very customer friendly and seemed concerned. The appointment was set up and technician COLE which is a very young kid that still looked like he was in middle school came out all to tell my 19 year old grandson that we were just over loading the outlets!!! Really??? A person knows their own home. This was not to my satisfaction because we were still experiencing the same issues once COLE left. This prompted me to call Fidelity once again to complain that I wanted a different electrical company out to access my electrical issue. They explained that SUNBELT had already closed the work order as completed which was not the case. So I call SUNBELT once again and this time spoke to receptionist CANDY, which by the way has terrible customer service!!! I'm a General Manager of a Company and our customers are everything! This is not the case with CANDY!!! Hello...isn't "CANDY" supposed to be sweet, not RUDE!!! So CANDY scheduled another appointment for the following week (SUNBELT does not come to Casa Grande, but once a week) only this time I felt the need for me to personally be there so I could show the technician exactly what was going on. So I missed work and once again SUNBELT sent me the same middle school looking kid/technician, COLE to my home just so that he could stand there in my living room with his hands in his pockets repeating that it was just an electrical overload!!! I even asked him if he could test the outlets but nope "ELECTRICAL OVERLOAD!!! Well thank God I called another Electric Company out to get a second opinion (I paid out of pocket). When Brutinel Electric came out, they explained that my home could have caught fire as the four electrical outlets that I had asked COLE, SUNBELTS technician to test, were burned. Tech came out to perform work A bad breaker in the bedroom. Great guy. Professional and nice. He took every outlet apart and found the short And put everything back together. When he left the fan, that was working, was no longer working. I called sunbelt and explained he took the fan outlet apart and there must had been some error. Then the fun started. As apposed to just coming back and fixing the problem I'm now on my third call and 2nd hour trying to get this resolved. Apparently there is some policy blah blah blah. The owner, Frank has a strict policy of not calling his customers. Good customer support Frank. Clearly this policy was Inacted for a reason. Maybe a lot of complaints? Maybe Frank has no idea how to run a business? I tried to give him a chance to respond. Good job Frank. I'm now going to just pay someone else to fix the problem sunbelt created. Its easier to do that then to deal with this company. Buyer be seriously warned. What a horrible experience I had with Sunbelt Electric! Don't use them. It's one thing to not do the job you were called out to do, but on top of that, the technician was one of the rudest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Sunbelt was called out to our home after we filed a service request w/ our home warranty provider (Fidelity). Both of our outside electric outlets (front and back) suddenly went out, affecting all of our landscaping lights and watering systems. When the Sunbelt guy showed up, I immediately knew this wasn't going to be a pleasant experience. He took one look at the front outlet, threw up his hands and said, "won't touch that - it's not connected to your house (which it is - it's drilled into the house) so not covered under your warranty." Now I realize that's a separate issue (that I'm working w/ Fidelity on), but the way he said it was so rude and unhelpful. Then I showed him around to the backyard and the other outlet. He got started (so I thought) and I went inside to finish getting ready for work. 30 minutes later the doorbell rings. He said, "Won't touch anything. The outlet in the back has the pool light and it's the pool light that's broken and you don't have pool coverage. Plus it's not attached to the house." First, IS WAS attached to the house. If it wasn't, why did he waste 30 minutes doing whatever he was doing. Second, I explained that it was the entire outlet and not the pool light, which my husband had already checked. He was SO RUDE, he just kept repeating, "it's the pool light, won't touch it, you don't have pool coverage." Finally I said, "look it's not the pool light. We think it's the outlet, but is there anything else it could be?" Then he changed his story and said, "well it doesn't matter if it's the pool light or not because the outlet isn't attached to the house so I won't touch it" (AGAIN, this outlet is also attached to the house). Honestly I probably would have paid him out of pocket just to fix it, but at that point, he was so rude I couldn't even get a word in. Most frustrating is that my husband ended up fixing it on his own later and it WAS just the outlet. It's like Sunbelt intentionally went out of their way to be SUPER NOT HELPFUL and RUDE. It was incredibly frustrating. I truly feel bad for the people who use them for electrical needs more urgent (i.e. air conditioning/power out). I'd STRONGLY recommend using a different electrician. read more

Horrible experience. Steer well clear. I was forced into a service call via a home warranty issue. The other negative reviews of FRANK SANTELLA are wholly accurate. I honestly think were it not for home warranty work this company would not survive--not if FRANK SANTELLA is representative of their entire workforce. Honestly it is my opinion that this FRANK fella is unstable and inept as an electrician. My job today was to open the home's door and point to the problem that the home's owner had sent him to repair. I'm the tenant--no skin in the game. And frankly I would never have hired these clowns after a quick review of YELP! But again I'm just the tenant in this drama. When FRANK SANTELLA arrived on property I sensed the guy was a bit off or at least put out by being there. It was almost like he was doing me a favor in showing up to work. Whatever you see these kind all around. The bottom line is the guy was trying to weasel out of doing the simple job he was called out on and seemed much more interested in billing the warranty company and the home's owner for frivolous items--in other words up charging everything and claiming everything was not covered per the warranty like the other reviews have described. Here was his punch list: 1) swap a known faulty breaker on the sub panel 2) repair a broken doorbell 3) find the switch controlling the accent lights in the living room's built in hutch Pretty simple, yes? Nope, not so fast. One hour and three phone calls later (to owner, warranty company, NASA, and God knows who else), he has completed items one and two on the list. He then tries to skip out without completing item 3. Mind you he just spoke to the home's owner on the phone and assured the owner he would be billing for an additional call out to cover these "un-covered" items--I heard the conversation and was told by the owner that FRANK was going to do all the work. As FRANK SANTELLA is trying to skate without completing the contracted work, I call his attention to the final item on the punch list. Well based on his reaction (verbal and non verbal) you would think I had just cursed his mother! THE OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF THIS FELLA ARE SPOT ON!!! AVOID HIM IF YOU CAN. I don't do low voltage work he says. The owner told me otherwise, I say. And hey didn't you just do low voltage work on the doorbell? I say come on man it won't be that hard, hell I'll be your assistant. So I offered to assist him and suggested we place a toner on the burned out lights to trace the circuit and find the power switch. THIS LICENSED ELECTRICIAN ON A SERVICE CALL WITH A COMPANY TRUCK ACTUALLY SAYS TO ME AND I QUOTE "I DON'T HAVE A TONER AND I DON'T DO LOW VOLTAGE WORK." An electrician without a tone generator would be akin to a surgeon without a scalpel, and low voltage work is exactly what he just finished doing on the house's doorbell. You can't make this stuff up!!! I look at this fella standing in my living room trying to sandbag me (mind you I don't have any skin in this game-not my house, not my bill, I'm just a tenant helping the owner) and ask if it's a special tone generator that is needed for low voltage because it's kinda hard for me to believe an electrician would not have this basic tool. I guess he realized at that point that I knew a little something about electrical issues (I've been building houses for twenty years-a little fact I like to keep to myself when trades are called to a job I'm overseeing), because he says glares at me, does an about face and storms out of my house slamming the door as I am asking him if he intends to finish the work he was billing the owner for. He runs to his truck and jumps on his phone presumably to call NASA again for permission or some other obtuse billing code to gouge more money out of the home's owner and that is where he sits having rudely stormed away from an inquisitive, albeit knowledgable customer. Anyway I go back to the work I was doing before this circus act showed up and some time goes by with nothing happening. I then go out to his truck where he is sitting with his phone and billing pad furiously penning "War and Peace" to describe all the work he has been doing and must be paid for I'm sure. And I tell him that walking away from a customer when the customer is asking questions in pretty rude. He doesn't give me the time of day so I go back to my work, call the owner to inform him of the incomplete work and caution him regarding the use of this company in the future and to QA the billing invoice before paying. I also phone the office leaving a message in hope of speaking to the business owner regarding the liability he has in this loo Without a doubt the second most bizarre experience of my life. I don't do a lot of these reviews, but if one person out there can avoid these clowns going forward because of my review then I can rest easy. Can I give them minus stars? So I had some overhead track lights that were intermittently not turning on. I put in a request for service through my home warranty company because wiring is covered under my plan. I figured it might be a wiring issue (maybe a loose connection). Well, my warranty company sends out Sunbelt Electric. I was really concerned after reading the other two scathing reviews. The electrician who came over (my mother was home while I was working) came and flipped the switch a couple of times. Of course, as luck would have it...the thing was working when he was there. But the guy just called me and said "sorry, works fine!" and was trying his absolute hardest to convince me that it MUST be a fixture issue (not covered under warranty). He didn't even open up the plates to find out if there were wiring issues. His 35 years of experience tells him that it MUST be a fixture issue, well, then he can't possibly be wrong!! Well, I argued with him and he told me that I can make another claim when it happens again and they will come back out and diagnose it, but it takes a day or so to schedule, so by the time they come, who knows if it'll be working??! So, he takes my 60 dollar trade fee for flipping a freakin' switch...and leaves. Not only was he rude and lazy, but he was trying to demean me. I have a degree in electrical engineering, so I'm not naive when it comes to electricity. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Well I wrote a good review on September 29. If you read the review you will notice that I took time off work to have the repair done. A short time after the repair the outlet in my kitchen they had repaired no longer woks . American Home Shield said Sunbelt would repair at no charge and issued a work order. Here is my complaint. Sunbelts technicians don't work weekends and don't take appointments after 3. The woman in the office said she could only give me a window between 12 and 3 Tuesday for a tech. I explained I work at a school and could not take time off. I had paid $75 for the first service call and lost money by taking time off the first time for the repair. I said I could be home by 3:30 and since it was Sunbelts fault I felt they should accommodate me. She became very short with me and told me to call my warranty company and have them send out a different electric company. I told her they weren't going to do that since Sunbelt was paid to do the repair. I feel that it would have been more cost effective to not have a warranty company,pay a service call and loose time at my job. Sunbelt is not about customer service read more
