I have been an electrical contractor for 29 years. I have rented equipment from just about every rental company in the Bay Area. Recently I rented a 25' manlift. I was told thet the 25' fot lift was rented. So I left trying to figure out my schedule. I called back later that day and aske If I could have the rental on the following day. Chuck said no problem. They delivered a 30' foot manlift and charged me an extra $70 for two day's rental. I think that they should have told me that way I could have made a choice. There are plenty of rental companies. I will not ever use Sunbelt Rentals again. Cresco is the best and Hertz is very goos also. read more

Run as fast as possible from this company. Not only that their rental fee is extortionately high, but also they add additional charges to make the bill unbearable. Any other equipment rental company will be able to provide a better price than Sunbelt. read more

First off they didn't give my guys the insulation bags I ordered so I had to drive from concord to Richmond to get the bags and then bring them to the concord jobsite. On the way here my tire split and now I'm in the parking lot sitting in a hot car waiting for someone to drive an hour to help me. Not a single person here will lift a finger to help me. I thought they were a$$holes before but now I have no doubt!!!!! They won't even let me borrow a jack....trust me when I call corporate if I don't get a satisfactory response I'm gonna do my best to spread the word about this blatant disregard for customer service and decent human kindness....this company sucks!!!!! read more

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! This is the best advise I can give you. This greedy company could care less about you and only for their bank account. I called and asked for pricing and found that not only were they the highest price for the equiment I needed, every time I called (I had more questions about "CFM's") the more they kept raising the cost for "extra charges." Everything was considered and "extra charge"!! Not only that, since the price was mush higher than any other rental place such as Cresco, Sunstate, and others, I asked for a smaller unit. That is when they stated that I had to pay extra for the filters (told me I needed 2) were an extra $30.00 EACH!!! AND that I would have to pay the charge to have the smaller unit delivered to their location because they did not have one "in stock." I spoke to a Troy, who identified himself as a "sales man" said, to me "Well, if you think our prices are too high, I suggest you rent from someone else." HOW RUDE!! I asked if he could work with me on the price since it was so much more than any other rental place (other places didn't have the equipment on the day I needed it), and he said, "I'm going to say no, all I can do is maybe give you a 10% discount, but you are still going to have to pay for the 2 filters, so it's still not much of a discount." I told him that he was outrageously over priced and that I shouldn't have to pay for equipment to be delivered to his place because HE didn't have it available. He did not offer me the option of picking up the equipment from the other location, when I questioned it, he said that I should just rent from another place. I hung up feeling VERY dissatisfied. I decided to look them up on Yelp, which I should have done in the first place. After seeing horrible reviews, I didn't shock me to see that other people had similar bad experiences. I called to speak to the manager to let him know how I felt, and that he is loosing customers due to his price gauging, and poor customer relations. I asked for a manager and they said it was Tony. A man picked up and I asked: "whom am I speaking with?" Is this Tony the manager?" The man replied "I am a manager, how can I help you? I said: "I asked for the manager Tony, can you please get Tony on the line?" The man said again, I am a manger, what is your name?" I asked him what his name was, and that I was told that Tony was the manager. He said "My name is Sean, and I am a manger and can I get your name?" He completely dismissed the fact that I asked for Tony. I asked if Tony was there. He insisted again on getting my name. I gave up asking for Tony, and I said, "Well, first of all, I am a customer who just called looking to rent equipment from your establishment, and since you claim to be a manger...don't you think that when someone asked for a certain person and expects to speak to a certain person, isn't the respectful thing to do--would be to get that person on the phone? Is there a reason why you will not get Tony the manager on the line?" I have asked politely.?" Sean interrupted me and began speaking loudly over me and would not let me talk. He insisted I give him my name. I said at this point, you don't need my name, you DO however, NEED TO KNOW THAT YOU HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET!! AND YOU BEING A MANAGER? That's pretty bad customer service don;t you think?" I let him know that instead of being preoccupied with my name, he should be more concerned about they way they treat customers, and how outrageous their prices are and that they are 4 times higher than their competitors, and that they are loosing my business, and I am confident that they are loosing many other customers as well. His response was "YOU are mean!!!!" He repeatedly asked for my name. WOW! what an ordeal! What a waste of my time! NO WONDER THEY HAVE 1 & 2 STARS! read more

These guys are FREAKIN' AMAZING!! I was working on production of a rather large event and I needed a generator. I called like 50 places, and not only did these guys come through cheaper than anyone else, they really went above and beyond making sure they could fit my oddly specific situation. Really, words cannot describe how great they were. All the guys I spoke with (Jerry, Ron, and especially Joel) were so incredibly helpful.
