I have been to the LA Philharmonic Walt Disney Concert Hall several times to see/hear different genres of music from ballet, to symphony, to jazz, and of course classical music, and during the holidays they give a great performance by their choir. Those of you who know me, know I love classical music and do have my favorite composers: Chopin, Vivaldi and Mozart. On Sunday, March 29th at 7:30pm my friend and I went to see Strauss, Bruch, & Moussa's elegant, classy performance that shook up the whole entire venue and the audience. It was just MAGNIFICENT! 10/10 The venue itself is STUNNING! Glamorous and easy to navigate all the aisles. Our seats were very comfortable and you can see the stage from any corner/angle since the theatre is not that big. Also has balcony seating. Tickets were $50 a piece not including tax. It has a beautiful gift shop, garden, different restaurants all around the building, and a small store where you can purchase some beverages and snacks. Overall, a GREAT performance and we both had a lovely time. Parking is $10 with few an entrances and few restrooms for both men & women. Thank you all for another AWESOME performance!! Will definitely return again next time I get a brochure or pamphlet in my mail.

The performance was even more amazing than we had imagined & so lively! Music | The LA Phil was incredible! The sounds of the different instruments, made a beautiful melody! The soft, beautiful, magical, fairytale-like sounds, as if butterflies are fluttering about were my favorite! I especially love the sound of the flutes! It was also incredible hearing the powerful, booming sounds, as the musicians played fiercely! It really stirred up excitement inside & made my heart race at times! Performance | Elim Chan & Masabane Rangwahasha | 100% fabulous! They were both incredible! It was amazing seeing a female conductor lead with so much passion, grace, as well as excitement! It's as if she was doing a beautiful yet powerful dance! Hearing the beautiful voice and talent radiating from Masabane, as she sang opera was mesmerizing! She stood confident, poised & proud and was a sight to be seen and heard! Walt Disney Concert Hall | Magical! I loved all of the curves and shapes of the building, both inside and outside, as well as the majestic shades and colors throughout! Drinks & Bites | I was excited to see refreshments, as I know, we were going to eat afterwards, but a light bite was perfect! I enjoyed a few bites of my chocolate brownie & my friend and I had a glass of red wine! Our bartender was awesome! I believe he was located on the fourth floor, personality plus, thanks again! Also, eating is only allowed in the lobby areas! Intermission | 15-20 Minutes! Overall | I'm super excited to return for future performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as it truly was a magical experience!

I don't live too far away from here but it's always a trek coming down to downtown LA. And the tickets I received is said to park in the music center garage. Parking was $10 and really efficient. It took a while to get our bearings to find out where we could park and what was available. And at the very end, it was actually pretty efficient to get out of there as well. We're on level P6 and we were directed to go down towards the lower level and everything was very efficient to then come back up to the surface.. It's a beautiful venue. It's not huge, but they're able to make great use of the space. We sat in the balcony and got a great view and we were able to see everything fairly well. There are lots of concession stands throughout and you're even able to pre-order drinks and snacks and beverages for the intermission. Overall, it's a great venue, it's even closer to me than the Pantages, where they have a lot of other musicals as well. We caught a great show here too. This is definitely a hidden gem that I'll be excited to come back to again in the future when there are future events. Everything is so well organized and it was a great experience.

Most of the seats have a decent view of the stage, although the seats are pretty narrow so you're almost elbow to elbow with the person sitting next to you. Parking is usually pretty easy at the music centre garage for $10 but do arrive early as the line to get into the garage can get backed up.

The VIP room was pretty empty as well. And you're not allowed to bring outside food or drink. Some shirts and hoodies for sale but pretty lackluster overall. Many people complained about the plot, but I went in with no expectations and had a good time. If you reframe it as you somehow fell into hell and need to escape, then you'll have a great time. Don't think too deeply. The actors, ambiance, decorations and room setups were well done. The ice room could've been colder with some dry ice. I do think it's pretty steep for a 35 minute escape maze and the behind the scenes was cool but short. The whole experience took us an hour, including bathroom breaks. I recommend going early because it seemed like the actors don't get a lot of breaks so I'm glad I got to see their more passionate acting when they're not tired yet. I think it's good to try once as a beginner but definitely more excited to try other productions like Willow.

This really cool intimate venue has been around for a while as the spot where old and new bands from Band of Skulls, Unwritten Law, NIIS, SCOWL, Joker's Hand and Destroy Boys (right before they got bigger, opening for Blink 182 on tour!) have all played at. The sounds, acoustics and everything are all dynamically set up by their amazing crew of technicians and staff. Custodians are on their toes keeping things clean around here as well. Security around here are very fair. They don't trip about moshers and stage divers as long as they keep things peaceful and fun! Huge plus! Parking can be a toss up, but that's normal and the price around here isn't bad. Lines usually wrap around the building and into the residential area nearby with peoples' houses. It's pretty damn funny, IMO. I was able to see NIIS, Scowl , Destroy Boys and other awesome bands here . Super chill, fun venue! It's a true community event, and after a few visits, I started inviting my family to join. Fast forward to now--my daughter is three, and we recently attended the orchestra performance that featured Dr. Dre's music. I brought my entire family, and we all had an amazing time. It felt like a huge picnic under the LA sky. Bring your favorite snacks, food, blankets, and lawn chairs. They also have vendors selling food and drinks if you want to buy something there. The event is completely free--you just sign up for tickets in advance, which helps them gauge headcount. They also offer season passes with prime viewing areas if you want a reserved spot closer to the stage. The bathrooms are clean, the event is well organized, and there's convenient parking right underneath the venue--we paid just $10. It was a packed house and such a great vibe. I've even shared videos because the energy was so incredible. If you love live music, this is a must-try experience. It's family-friendly, fun, and a great way to spend an evening in the city. I truly hope my daughter grows to appreciate these kinds of events as much as I do.

Shoutout to the organizers of these summer series of free concerts at this venue. It's great for the community and everyone is very friendly. They do provide some seating here but you can also bring your own chairs. It's surrounded by commercial businesses and tall buildings with several restaurants nearby. We did notice that a lot of the local restaurants close after business hours (around 5p) but there were a few food trucks out front. The food took about 30-35 mins so if you have young ones be prepared. The venue is kid friendly and my boys enjoyed playing on the steps in the front to get their energy out. The open space, the vibe and the acoustics in the area were all such a vibe especially at night! My advice would be to follow grand performance on Instagram and catch one of these summer free concerts with the family, if possible. Make sure to bring a jacket because it does get a little chilly and windy when the sun goes down. As far as parking goes, we parked at the Broad Museum's parking structure on 2nd street for $19. They close their garage at 10:30p so make sure to give yourself about $15 minutes to walk a block to the garage before they close. Overall, I highly recommend checking out a concert here. It was such a great experience and my kids had a blast! This is such a great place for the community. Also note that the historic Angels Flight Railway Trolly is within walking distance and that will take down to the Grand Central Marketplace. Be aware that the wait times can be a little longer before and after a concert due to a lot of people leaving and arriving at the same time. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

The huge courtyard with giant fountain spans the three theatres there -- the Mark Taper, the Ahmanson (both for plays and musicals), and the mighty Dorothy Chandler (for opera and ballet). It's massive! We were there for the new Philip Glass opera, ancient Egypt's Akhnaten. Lots of Queen Nefertiti cosplay so it's worth getting there early for the people watching. Seats are impossibly pricey, so it may be a one-time thing but I'd say worth it. Our front row seats (but on the side so you miss a tiny, tiny bit of the stage) were about $200 each. The Dorothy Chandler is huge so you may need your (appropriately named) opera glasses if you're up in the hinterland. For most operas, there are "supertitles" above the stage which translate what you're watching. Robbie Yelp tip on food -- the sit-down restaurants on and adjacent to the plaza are super pricey. Instead, do this: the Mullin Wine Bar is right there on the pavilion. For two to share, get one pizza and one charcuterie plate. Both are delicious and filling; that's $50. Add drinks and you're getting close to a hundo, but it is what it is. Take your food and drinks out into the plaza for people watching until the opera bell rings. O sole mio!

Had a great first experience at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion last month. Oftentimes, my visit to…read morethe area have been to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for the LA Phil (and usually Vespaio afterwards), the MOCA, or to The Broad. Recently, I was here for LA Opera Verdi's Falstaff. Previous to this visit, I have never been to an opera only performance, besides having one as part of a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall or watching them on PBS. I read the summary first prior to attending and all the information provided on the website was very helpful (from parking, opera summary, etc.), especially for first time visitors. Despite a road closure nearby, it was still pretty easy to get into the parking structure and walk over to the Pavilion. We arrived early to pick up your tickets and use the restroom prior to the performance. With any "subtitles", they often tend to be to the side, so I often had to look to the right and back to the stage to understand what they were singing about. The stage did not look as big as I expected, but when the sets were switched, I was amazed at the beautiful sets and also how "grand" they looked from my seat. During the intermission, there were snacks and drinks one could purchase. I love that they also offered throat drops to the side, which some patrons should probably have used as they were coughing during the performance. The lines to the women's restroom were also coordinated, as if one was at Disneyland. We were lucky enough to zip through the roped-off lines early on before the lines really started to get long. We also stepped out for air prior to the intermission being over. There were "pre-" and "post-" performance talks and I wished that I was able to hear where the post-performance talk was going to be. I had left after the applause to hurry and use the restroom, so I missed the location announcement of the post-performance talks. Yes, I could have asked an employee but my friend had also already walked outside of the venue. The Music Center also had an "art" installation next door, in a small space so we also checked it out before we left. The performance was wonderful and the employees we encountered were very kind. It was easy to get to and from the venue, from the parking structure. It is a great location and would recommend a visit at least once.
