After reading their amazing menu and wanting to order 5-6 dishes, we chose Sunday's Kitchen for lunch! We IM'd them thru FB and asked if we could order ahead as we were driving through the area. They responded quickly andOffered to have it ready by the time we got there. We ordered Frito pie mac & cheese and shrimp and grits. It was piping hot when we arrive and some of the best food we've ever had! Hands down. The brisket in the Frito pie was amazing! As was the Mac n cheese! the shrimp and grits perfectly cooked with a most delicious creole gravy. The owner and his son were very friendly and interactive. Oh did I mention the portions are huge? Pure disappointment. Waited patiently as I sat at a table that wasn't cleaned, only to see the staff clean 2 tables BUT not mine. Yes, they knew it wasn't my food because I held the wooden number in my hand. When my food was brought, the cashier lady goes... "Why don't you just switch tables to that one over there?" She could CLEARLY SEE I had sat down, had my purse on the shelf in front of window and a couple receipts on the table. Also, charging for TAP water is insane and I've never had ANYONE tell me "YOU'RE WELCOME!" (rudely) when I switched the TAP water for their cucumber TAP water. I didn't say "thank you" because I was in complete shock that the same lady was too lazy to clean the table. She clearly was being rude, I guess because she was hurt over picking up someone's plate of food off the table. Toast was burnt and soggy and the lemon wedge was imbedded in my Shrimp Grits. ALSO, I never saw ANYONE disinfect the tables before someone else sat done. So unsanitary, especially with todays world of Covid. read more

Me and my wife ate there Sunday for brunch. It was phenomenal. I think I could eat there at once a week.

The owner Ronnie met us at the door and welcomed us in by name. While we were waiting he offered a sample of his gumbo. It was absolutely great. I highly recommend it. As you can see from the pictures the portions are large. More importantly the sandwich was brisket, cheese, jalapeños, fried and Nixon's and grilled peppers on a toasted hoagie roll with Pico de Gallo was great. The Jumbalaya with smoked chicken, sausage and shrimp in there own creole sauce was great. This restaurant is on the corner of NE Pierce street & NE 10th. Perfect location if you are going north or south on het 87. Just south of Thompson Park, Wonderland Park and Ross Rogers Golf course. If you are going downtown to see the Amarillo Sod Poodles badrball, Amarillo Venom football or the Amarillo Bulls hockey or any of the other attractions downtown youare only 5 minutes to the north. This is a small restaurant that looks clean. Their begniets were freshly made and were delicious. At lunchtime, they sold us the dinner portions of their meals, without asking which portion we wanted. The portions were humongous. Mostly rice and pasta, of course. The seasoning was mild but reasonably tasty. If you are Jonesing for a taste of Louisiana, you can get a taste of it here. But you will not think that you're back home in the Bayou. read more
