The weather was warm when I found myself on the beach with a stirring hunger. It was morning and thinking with my stomach, I found myself inkling for something yummy. An egg sandwich? Too greasy, A pastry? Too fatty. But something in between, healthy yet nothing green, fruity but not artificial. An açaí bowl shall do the trick, and I couldn't have asked for one just as delicious as this. With pineapples, berries, granola and coconut, this bowl hit the spot and then some, and made the perfect stop on my walk. It was one of the better açaí bowls I've had in the area, and I left feeling full, healthy and satisfied with my choices. This cute little shop is on the second floor of a brick and mortar right across from the pier and beach access points. It's upstairs from a surf shop with was fitting considering we saw a couple of surfers while watching the sunrise on the beach! The cafe is very relaxed and we loved it. The pb bowl is loaded with toppings including a huge scoop of peanut butter, yum! And for $11 it's a good size. I do wish it had some fruit on it though. This is a great coffee shop located on Wrightsville beach! It's on the second floor on top of a surf boutique. The cafe was pretty busy with a large line when we arrived but it moved fast and the staff were very friendly. There was plenty of seating with indoor tables and bar seating and outdoor picnic tables. For coffee I had an iced coffee with lavender flavoring. It was delicious and they have a great selection of coffee drinks that were reasonably priced. They also have smoothies and açaí bowls. For $11.50, it was a really good portion and they definitely didn't hold back with the toppings. They were very delicious. They had every milk imaginable for coffees. My husband loved the iced mocha and said the blueberry bagel was good. This shop is up a set of stairs, so may not be for those who have difficulty with steps. They get a lot of repeat business as the staff knew a lot of people when the first walked in and asked if they were getting their regular drink. My wife liked her chai and my mocha was good. Atmosphere is everything here! The people are sweet, the location is beautiful, the decor is beachy and inviting, and many of the customers know each other giving it a warm, small beach town feel. Disclaimer: I don't come here for the coffee. It's really expensive and the only milk options the have are regular and a generic soy. It doesn't really give me any special caffeine buzz and has negatively affected my stomach on a handful of occasions. However, the smoothies, bowls and milkshakes seem to be a huge hit. I've had the Stand 12 which is mango, banana, and spinach. Very sweet but equally as refreshing and tasty. I've also had the cherry poppyseed pastry from a local baker and it average priced and tasted fantastic! I really love their logo and merch! If you're a tourist looking for that cute little beach cafe to grab a bowl at after walking the beach and head home with cute, local art, mugs, stickers, and gear, this is your place. They have a ton of beers, spritzers, kombuchas and other non-alcoholic refreshments and snacks in the drink coolers and by the counter. Everything is relatively pricey but unless you drive back over the bridge towards Wilmington, that's about what things costs on the island. Sunday's has wifi, community tables and individual seating, outlets, and nice calming music to work to in the background. They also have a tv at the bar where you can enjoy surfing footage and competitions 99% of the time. There's a surf shop on the lower half of the building you should check out as well, also owned by the same people. Give them a visit! read more
