While I can't say for certain what caused it, it happened immediately after the treatment and made me concerned about the hygiene of the exfoliation products that were used. For the amount we paid, I expected much higher sanitation standards. A spa should prioritize using fresh, hygienic exfoliation materials for every customer. I would recommend the massage itself, but I would avoid the exfoliation service unless they improve their hygiene practices.

I was given a basket to place my shoes and belongings in and placed my feet in the warm water while Ale, the masseuse, put a warm towel across me. He worked on my upper body first for about 20-25 mins. He focused on the pressure points in my head and massaged my neck and back. He then started on my lower legs and feet for the remainder of the session. I did ask for "medium" pressure but there were times that I had to move my legs a bit to hint that the pressure was a bit too hard, almost painful even.
