3.5 rounded up. What do I do right after Fox and Oak? I come here for a second fix. Go big or go home, right? Right. May as well check out the competiion that is 5 mins away up the street. May as well take these bad boys back to Vancouver and scarf them down later. I'd say Fox and Oak edges them out, but they've got some interesting flavours. Lemonade as well as orange creamsicle. Worth a try.

Coffee and Apple Tartlet - the perfect combo!

Stopped for Coffee and a breakfast. Coffee is quite good, 49th parallel. I ordered an Apple Tartlet which was delicious. Husband had a savory herb and cheese scone, which he said was very good. We ate on sight at the bar by the window. Nice spot, great food. Bookmark it!

Great food and drinks! A bit overpriced. The service is easy and it's pretty fast. The ambience is pretty good could be better though.

Great bakery in Squamish! Enjoyed their donut selection. Bakers dozen (13 donuts) for $40! I particularly liked the chocolate one and lemon one.

    Blue Hawaiian, the Chief

We came to Sunflower Bakery Cafe as the original cafe we went to ran out of their doughnuts and we were craving some. We got the Blue Hawaiian and the Chief as well as a Bavarian smokie. Overall they were pretty good and with friendly staff behind the counter.

I'm not sure what the hype is about. We came on a weekday afternoon to a short line up. We purchased two drinks and some pastries/donuts. My matcha latte didn't really have a strong matcha flavour. Even though it was unsweetened, I didn't get that hint of bitterness matcha exudes. My mom mentioned her coffee tasted "very bland". By that I think she means it's very ordinary - not good or bad. I didn't try the pastries, but my dad commented that his apple tart was yummy and loaded with apples. The donuts however were a disappointment! We ordered a half dozen to share: Lemonade - I was expecting a sweet and sour fresh donut, but it was very sugary and reminded me of lemon detergent. The donut itself was also very dense and chewy. Pistachio - We enjoyed the texture of the donut. It tasted lighter than the lemonade one, however, there was absolutely no pistachio flavour. Homer - I didn't try this one, but my bf commented that this tasted very artificial. Which is what I expect a Homer donut would taste. Krispy Kreem - I didn't try this one, but my bf mentioned this was quite delicious. Of course, it was not as good as the original Krispy Kremes. Matcha - Another doughy texture with matcha filling that had NO matcha flavour. Apple fritter - I did not try so can't comment We were happy to have tried this cafe because of all the positive reviews. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things, but we weren't very impressed with our visit.

Amazing pastries, donuts, toasted sandwiches, treats and Coffee! The staff are fast and always super friendly!

Starbuck's was Mr. B's favorite for coffee and we prefer the smaller independently owned coffee shops and Fox and Oak is a gem. Located in downtown Squamish, really on the outskirts of downtown. This tiny little spot has a long bar with seating and then a lovely patio. The staff at the register taking orders both times was so friendly, helpful and offered great recommendations. On our first visit it was a latte for Mr. B and a Chai Latte for me, both were creamy, filled with rich flavor without being bitter. We also shared a maple walnut donut. Oh it was so good. I can't say the last time I had a donut, but when in Canada, maple anything is always so good. The donut was light and had a lovely maple glaze on the top and then toasted walnuts. So good! On our second visit, we had the same drinks, the same Maple Walnut Donut and added a blueberry fritter. The fritter was crunchy on the outside, after the first bite we could see the layers of dough much like a croissant and in the middle were loads of fresh blueberries. Wow, fresh berries and not a sweet fake blueberry gel. It truly was scrumptious. Parking is on the street and can be tight, but both times we found parking even with a short walk. Which was good to walk off our donuts and pastries.

We waited 1.5hr to be served our food with only 3 other people ahead of us waiting for their food. The place was empty and only 3 plates were served at a time to each of us. The fruit portion was just two VERY thin apple slices and one grape for the food decor on each plate! The food portions were the smallest I've ever seen for diner food options. We had to wait so long that we had to go down to the coffee shop down a few stores to get lattes and pastries (Sunflower Bakery & Cafe I recommend hands down) while we waited. The server had an attitude and was the only person taking the orders and busing the tables (the dishes from other tables were not picked up). Yes one person managing the customers but I honestly felt she had time to pick up the dishes around other tables and ask if we needed any coffee or water. There were no other customers after us that came in. The few that did walk in were told the restaurant was closed. There was one syrup container and that my son had to ask to barrow from the other table still finishing up the meal. The potatoes on our plate seemed like they were from a frozen bag and reheated on a pan, no taste or seasoning on them. Sausages were not seasoned and no flavor to them. The pictures on the previous reviews do not compare or come close to what we were served. The food did not make any of us sick and the restaurant was clean that is the only reason this restaurant is getting two stars on my review. Would I ever come here, Absolutely NEVER! Go to Sunflower Bakery & Cafe they serve you delicious coffees and amazing pastries and other breakfast items!

We scanned the menu which included typical breakfast options such as eggs, bacon, ham and sausage, breakfast sandwiches as well as omelettes. I unfortunately have a gluten allergy (celiac) and asked the server if they had gluten free toast (which they have but do not offer it on the menu). The hash-browns unfortunately are tossed in flour before deep frying (which was not listed on the menu) so I was given the alternative to have French fries (which were fried in the same oil) and I didn't necessarily want French fries for breakfast. When the food arrived my brother in laws breakfast sandwich smelt and tasted sour. It was the ham that was on the sandwich so he did not finish the sandwich. My eggs were cooked fine, but definitely at their expiration date. We are travelling from Ontario and have eaten so many amazing meals while visiting and this one did not meet the expectations that we have. Hopefully this will help the owners and staff to make the improvements they so desperately need moving forward.
