I visited for a work lunch with a group of 12 people. It is a roadside diner on the way to FMB and Sanibel Island and decorated with beach theme paintings. It seems to be a local favorite. I had a Greek salad and it came with a bowl of soup. Matzo ball soup was recommended by my coworkers and that was what I got. Even it was my 1st time of this soup and I got nothing to based on, I like it a lot. My salad was very fresh with anchovies and homemade dressing. Everything was delicious. Anther wonderful experience here. My hubby and I each ordered one of their salads. A salad order comes with a small bowl of soup. I ordered their yummy matzo ball soup while my hubby ordered the delicious chicken noodle soup. Unfortunately we are our soups before I took pics. The soup was freshly made and oh so tasty. My hubby truly enjoyed their Julienne Salad while I thoroughly enjoyed their California Salad. The salads were so crisp, fresh and delicious! We shall return again! Can't go wrong here. Great food and fast, friendly service! This was our first visit. Four of us arrived shortly before 12PM on a Saturday with 3 kids in tow. We were seated promptly. They have an extensive menu and were able to accommodate our gluten-free diner. Our orders included fried pickles, crepes, pancakes, omelettes and sandwiches. Everything was delicious, but the chicken noodle soup was outstanding. Confirmed with the staff it is made from scratch! And don't get me started on how delicious the desserts were! What impresses me about Sunflower is not so much the food -- which is all right -- but their regular customers, greeted warmly by staff. I've had pretty good corned beef in Philadelphia and more recently, Manhattan. With few options here and a hankering for Jewish deli, T and I headed to Sunflower for Reubens. They were okay. My assessment of their matzoh ball soup remains the same as before: the broth is good, the matzoh balls are sinkers. (As confirmed by a Kosher chef on television yesterday, most people prefer "floaters.") The diner we frequent in Marietta GA had the most delicious baklava cheesecake. Sunflower has it too, but lacks comparison. A one-time shot for us. Sunflower Cafe is more a diner than cafe. We tried Summerlin Cafe and The Sunflower Cafe. Food at both places are good. Especially breakfast. I like that at Sunflower Cafe, coffee is included with some of the breakfasts. I don't mind paying for coffee if it's really worth 2.75-3$ a cup but in most places it's not. I think $1.50 should be the max price. Anyway, Sunflower is it for us! But you can't go wrong with either of these places. Food is very similar and as I e read in other posts. Don't let the full parking lot hinder you from coming in. This was my four visit to Sunflower and it didn't disappoint. I was seated fast and my order was taken quickly. I can tell that they serve you one of the best cups of hot tea you will get anywhere. I ordered scrambled eggs well done, hash browns, a kielbasa sausage and two pieces of buttered toast. Everything was delicious. I really wanted to like this place because the menu sounded great, especially the Greek-style breakfast skillet with eggs, feta, and gyro meat. I was hoping for something protein-forward and flavorful, but the dish ended up being mostly greasy hash browns with only a very small amount of eggs, feta, and gyro meat. The eggs were overcooked, the feta and gyro portions were minimal, and the overall flavor was pretty under-seasoned. Instead of a balanced skillet, it felt like I mostly got a pile of oily potatoes with just a little bit of the ingredients I actually ordered it for. If you're looking for a hearty, protein-heavy breakfast, this might not be the best choice, at least based on my experience with the skillet. People who really enjoy hash browns probably won't mind, but if you're expecting a Greek-style egg dish with a good amount of meat and cheese, you may be disappointed. A local cafe with a personable staff that greeted us as we came in. The cafe has a island feel with the decor. Waiting to be seated I noticed the cakes in the display case that's a problem! Got seated quickly and looking over the menu and I was pleasantly surprised with the Greek options. I had to try the Gyros Platter. With the patter you get your choice of soup or a salad. The Gyros Platter was loaded with gyro meat and the matzoh ball soup was delish. That dessert case is a must try as we got the carrot cake and it was awesome not too sweet. Lovely lunch with over 40 people at this bustling diner type restaurant! Excellent server and a extensive menu! You can get breakfast at any time. The twins lol! We had been here a couple of times in the past, and enjoyed it. Not this time. Wait time was long. My order somehow went missing, waitress apologized as she brought my husband's. His was COLD. Two reviews in one!! We chose to go for breakfast based on Yelp reviews (post-Ian) and we're extremely pleased. Hostess that seated us greeted us with a smile, and our waitress was very friendly as well. This restaurant is very homey in the decor, and coffee was great, an extremely important way to start the day! Our breakfast orders were delivered quickly, and even though my cheese omelet was not what I thought I ordered, it was delicious. The cheese omelet had bacon pieces throughout, and from now on I will order it with the bacon in it! My hubby's favorite was great too, and we both had home fries with rye toast to complete the meals. On the way out we both noticed a dinner special of red snapper francaise - a definite favorite of ours. Even though it was breakfast, we decided to return for the red snapper special - and we were so glad we did because it didn't disappoint. I ordered mine with yellow rice, a house salad and it came with broccoli and two beautifully cooked asparagus spears. The lemon butter wine sauce was just enough to let the red snapper shine, and we both enjoyed a very hefty portion. Hubby had a salad and house salad with his meal, and we were both so full we asked for the dessert to be packed to take home. Price for the special was extremely reasonable to make it a wonderful dinner. When we got back to our hotel we enjoyed one of the best rice puddings ever! I stopped by here earlier today for lunch with my family and in laws. We had driven past the Sunflower Cafe on our way to the beach in the morning, so when it came up as a place for lunch takeout, we decided to order from there. We put in our online order at around 11:25 AM for noon and it was ready for us whenever we arrived. For lunch on this day I ordered the crunchy fish filet salsandwich and chose matzo ball soup as my soup and then added a house salad. The rest of my family and kids ordered two Philly Pita Chicken Breast, a California club wrap and a kids grilled cheese with ham. My fish sandwich was crunchy as promised and came with some tartar sauce on a hamburger bun. It ended up being good as the fish was a mild and flakey white fish, the bun was toasted nicely and the tartar sauce had a good flavor to it. My matzo ball soup was packed full of vegetables as well as one giant matzo ball which I thought was fun and tasted alright too. Lastly on my meal, the salad came with an interesting dressing (I assume the house) which I really enjoyed even if the salad was a little disappointing for the 3.15 add on price. I was also able to try my twins grilled cheese with ham. There was a pretty crazy amount of ham from the add on price and I thought it was good with a melted cheese and bread that had a nice toasted exterior. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals and I liked the many different options on their manu. read more

The service was really quick. I think we ordered and our food came out within 5 minutes. My review is mainly based off the food as it was just ok. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet and the cheese that was used tasted like Kraft singles. No seasoning was used so there wasn't a ton of flavor, just a normal omelet. On the plus side it was relatively cheap. I wouldn't rate this the best breakfast in town at least based off what I ordered. read more
