I am new to the area and I went into the Sunglass Gallery to obviously buy some new sunglasses. Katy was there and very helpful. With her help we picked out the perfect pair for me. But of course I had to get my wife's approval before actually purchasing it. I know that this store has a "no cameras" policy. Where they do not allow you to take pictures of the frame. (Apparently so no one tries them on on store and then goes and buys them online. Which I understand and had no intention of doing. I like to support small business.) That being said Katy said of course it would be fine if I took a selfie and sent it to my wife for approval. But as I was taking the picture a man (who I later found out is the owner) walks in from outside and starts getting pissy with me about taking a photo. At this point I wasn't even aware that the man even worked there. There was no introduction, just immediate attitude from a man I had never seen before. He went off on some rant about how I intended to use the information from his store and buy them online. That I never had any intention of purchasing sunglasses from there and that this was my plan all along. To use his store as a showcase dressing room for free, using the help of his employees, then not give them my business. At this point I am just annoyed and offended. Katy was clearly embarrassed as well. I don't blame her. This is her boss so there is nothing she can do. When I first walked into the store my experience was lovely but by the end I was fed up. I did not deserve to be practically accused of theft. And although Katy was pleasant and great help I now have no desire to give this store my business anymore, but I am giving them 4/5 stars because they have a great selection and the other people working there are nice and helpful. read more

I just have to say, if you're in the Laguna Beach, CA. area, and you're in the market for sunglasses, go see Harjit Bagga at Sunglass Gallery on Ocean Ave! We are residents in Avon Lake, OH and we were visiting our best friends in So Ca when we stopped in the Sunglass Gallery for some much needed sunglasses. Harjit was absolutely wonderful in assisting us with our purchase of our Maui Jim sunglasses. My husband had a stroke a year ago and one of the side affects is a floating spot in his right eye. Harjit new and suggested without hesitation exactly which sunglasses would be best for my husband. My husband was so pleased we bought him two pair, one pair for days full of sunshine which his eyes are very sensitive to, and a pair for overcast days. I have not had a stroke, but I do have a different prescription in each eye. Harjit had many frames for me to choose from, and his knowledge and expertise was so helpful that I am now the proud owner of a pair of prescription Maui Jim sunglasses. Harjit and his wife were very professional, yet friendly. We've vowed to stop in just to say hello when we're back in Laguna this summer. read more

Katie is the best salesman I swear!! Every single pair she brought me fit perfectly and looked adorable! Don't ever go anywhere else for sunglasses. They are a million times better than Sunglass Hut. Everyone at the Sunglass Gallery is trained to find sunglasses that specifically fit your fave shape and bone structure (Katie seemed to be especially gifted at this). And then when they were a little big for me and falling off my face Katie just heated them up and hand bent them to fit my perfectly, super comfortable now. And also when I was there they didn't have a pair that I had been looking for, so Katie just ordered it for me and within a week it was there! The store is great and Katie is fantastic, super nice and funny and very knowledgable. Because of her I have been spoiled and my standards HIGH set... Only downside is now can't go anywhere for my glasses. read more

This is an interesting store. Kinda a hit and miss with the customer service. But I have always found Katie to be helpful. My main problem with them was it took a long time to receive the frames I ordered. I originally went in to have two older frames that I found fixed and the older gentleman that I think owns the place wound up selling me a pair of glasses that I immediately had to have. But they didn't have the exact color I wanted but I was told it could be ordered. I thought that was awesome but it took way longer than the gentleman originally told me. Finally I wound up calling the store to yell but then Katie assured me that she would take care of it. By the next day she had the frames I ordered, plus she gave me a discount for the inconvenience and also did not charge me for he 2 repairs that I had brought in. read more

I have been buying my sunglasses at this store forever it seems. I know I have 5 pairs of Maui Jims bought there. All of the employees have always been attentive to my requests and needs. I have even had them repair a pair of Maui Jims that I destroyed one lens on during an accident. They ordered the new lens, replaced it and for a very reasonably low price. Katie, Amy, and Ben are always willing and able to help out as well as is the owner, Harry. They are all well manered and easy to work with. I have had only the best of luck with the workers there and have enjoyed very good service and repair work. Harry is also great at helping choose frame shapes that compliment your facial structure. If you are interesting in seeing a huge selection of sunglasses, this is the place you need to check out. KEITH R. read more

I am a photographer and was across the street shooting in the same direction as this business. When an employee noticed me across the street he ran across the street towards me and demanded to know what I was taking pictures of... I told him I did not have too tell him and that I knew my rights.. He started to try and tell me that the sidewalk I was on was owned by a business owner he knew and that I could not stand there.. When I told him it was public property and I knew my rights he said "whatever you chink!" The store manager is aware of this situation but refuses to fire the employee.. He stated that the employee wasn't feeling well and that was his excuse.. Please dont shop here.. read more

This place has an amazing selection. At first I was very impressed. Laguna Beach across from main beach is the perfect place to have a luxury Sunglass store. The only problem I had was that all the price tags were handwritten. This struck me as very unprofessional. Scribbling $600 on something doesn't make me want to pay that price. Some of them were the same tags with a different price crossed out and written over it. I bought the sunglasses anyway because the saleswoman was nice. She had chosen the perfect Frame for my face shape and I didn't want her time to be wasted because of something like thjs. Loved the experience until I saw the messy price tags. read more

Bravo to everyone at this excellent store. We live in Laguna Beach and it's so satisfying to have these experts right here in our town. Wider selection than anywhere else. Customers are made to feel very comfortable and the staff is more insightful about sunglasses than anyone who has ever helped me. Especially Jon Who helped me realize what worked best for what I was looking for. Met the manager, Mikelle, upon check out. Accommodating, professional and so genuine. I was very intimidated when I first walked in the store, they have thousands and thousands of glasses to choose from. But the saleswoman (pink hair and thick black glasses) asked me a few starter questions and then she picked out 4-5 frames that matched what I was looking for. She then helped me narrow those down to the perfect one. I'm very happy with her recommendation and will be returning here in the future for anything else Eyewear related. read more

I LOOOVE this store!!! Mikelle and Harjit are both wonderful and know how to take care of there customers. I brought in a pair of $200 Gucci sunglasses that I had broken. Anyway since Gucci apparently doesn't sell spare parts the owner had to send it somewhere special to get it fixed. I was so amazed at how he went above and and beyond to repair my sunglasses. Awesome service! The staff was very friendly and patient. They spent a great deal of time with my wife and I and helped us find the perfect pairs. They did not try to sell us the most expensive ones, but rather chose the right shape and lens for us. They also adjusted the frames for my wife as she usually gets headaches if the sides are too tight. This will definitely be our go-to for sunglasses from now on! read more
