Every time I try to return or exchange a pair of shades at this store, even having never worn or taken the sunglasses out of the box, I'm always told that there's a scratch on the lens and they can't accept the exchange or return. One star because unlike the other location on Yelp that I reviewed they were open. This place is busy, and I was worried that I would have a hard time getting help if needed. Well no worry right after I walked in I heard a voice loud enough, "salespeople, I need salespeople on the floor." And then they swarmed. It would just be my luck that I was approached by a salesperson that wanted to impress her boss or if they're on commission make more than anyone else there. She just made sure she hit everyone up, problem is that I think she chased many away and then she had time to zero in on me. Well I really tried to swat her away, why is it that some salespeople can't just shut up! How about these, no? Well these? Or, these? Ack!! Please, I said let me take a look then I'll let you know if I have any questions. Hmmm okay, she says. Then 30 seconds later, same routine, these, those, them??? Again, I'll let you know. This happened about two more times, make it stop. A good salesperson learns to listen to when a customer says, "let me browse" a great one will sense it by reading a customers body language. I normally would have been out of there sooner, but since I broke my sunglasses on the way to NYC, I really wanted a replacement pair, so I tried to put up with it. To the one other salesperson, that asked me if I needed help I'm sorry if I sounded rude, I wish I could have given you the sale instead, you weren't pushy. But instead no one got my business, I left. I wasn't going to reward her with a sale just because I really wanted, really really wanted a pair of sunglasses, when I wasn't being helped. How about these, doesn't constitute help. Asking me if I wanted wire or plastic frames, or what color lenses, etc. is help. What is that I see? Amateur common people snapping pics through a webcam to display themselves on the Plasma screen inside and outside the store like they are some superstar!!!!! You can't help but be immediately drawn to the camera and start snapping pics like some natural model with attitude and upload to the display, email, or facebook in order for your 300+ friends to miraculously be envious and click "like" on the photos like you are the superfly that you are.. read more

TALK ABOUT SERVICE!!!!! I had an old pair of Wayfarer Classic Polarized RayBans that were peeling and the arms were very broken. I went in to see if they sold additional arms or if they had a tool to help fix them. What happened next, I couldn't have expected ever. Without a receipt, they swapped out my old broken pair for a BRAND NEW PAIR!!! I couldn't believe it. The woman who helped me was SO helpful. They didn't have the pair I wanted on the floor either, so she sent someone up to the 8th floor to find a pair they had in their storage. I've been planning on buying sunglasses for a while and left it for a day that I had a little extra time to shop and linger. I first went to the Sunglass Hut inside the Macy's, and it was a total nightmare; between the throng of people and the unhelpful salespeople who are just flirting with each other and in the way, I ended up just leaving. Then I walked out and saw the stand-alone store and I almost didn't go in because I was already frustrated and in a bad mood, but I thought, " what the heck. I'm already here." I was immediately greeted by several salespeople at the door, and I HATE being sold, so I said I was just browsing. I picked up a couple pairs and one of the girls noticed the styles I was looking at, and she brought 2 other pairs for me to try on. Not pushy, just helpful. One of the pairs she brought were PERFECT. After less than 15 minutes, I was on my way. So, go visit Lucy. She's fantastic and not pushy. Skip the Macy's by all means necessary. They've got all the big names- Ray Band, Oakley, D & G, etc. I love how on their website, they have a trendwatch and a trend map, so you can see what sunglasses are considered coolest wear. They also have the shapes and styles sorted out into little symbols (for example, "goggle", "rimless", "oval", "aviator", "cat eye", etc) so you can really see what your design options are in a very simple and clear way. Their website is amazing; you can sort your sunglass search by brand, price, color, activity/usage, material, lens technology, style, etc, to really find that one you're looking for. Don't go to this store specifically! Manager didn't know what they were doing had to ask her co workers if I could make a return on an item. Also charged me an extra $100 once I left New York and said she couldn't find anything on her system when I called them. They also told me the glasses I ordered would be there the following day but they laughed when I called to check if they were there the next day and said it wouldn't be there til 3 days later. Which is why I wanted my money back but now I have $100 charge on something I never bought. read more

I called another Sunglass Hut location and spoke with someone who actually helped me with my concern. Great customer service by Tamika, Sqarr and Hassan -- particularly the former who recommended some tight Maui Jinns that are featherweight, perfect for any activity, and allow you to see the world in HD with superb color perception like never before! The Ray Bans I got also pretty sick if I do say so myself, but I came in asking for those after perusing the site..ps lifetime supply or sunglass cleaner spray with purple or teal cloth is provided complimentary, and sweet reggae music beyond just Sean Paul plays for a finally it's a sunny April Saturday vibe. :D read more

As soon as I walked in I was bombarded !! This one lady I thought was being nice extraaaaa nice was just being fake. I mean whatever at least she's nice but with me it takes me a while to pick something especially if it's over 200$! So she was getting annoyed with me and literally trying to kind of rush me. The place is so small and the workers stare at you so hard I felt so awkward that yes I dropped a pair of sunglasses lol nothing broke but I was like fml.
