I'm sharing this because I believe customers should know what can happen behind the scenes of a business they choose to support. I was scheduled only 2-3 days a week for about 4-5 hours per shift. Much of my training consisted of tests through an app that I only had the opportunity to complete a few times. I was ultimately let go because I hadn't learned the difference between UVA and UVB rays quickly enough. I understand the importance of knowing the information required for the job, but I don't feel I was given enough opportunity to practice, review, or improve before being judged on how quickly I learned it. I was putting effort into my job, showing up for my shifts and completing the work I was asked to do, including cleaning the tanning beds and other physical duties. I was also upfront that I personally did not want to use UV tanning beds and preferred spray tanning and red-light therapy. I can't say whether that influenced my termination, but it did make me question whether I was given a fair opportunity. What bothered me most was the lack of consideration and professionalism. My father had just been diagnosed with kidney cancer, and management knew because I was crying at work after finding out and spoke with one of the managers. I still stayed and finished my shift that day. Despite knowing what I was dealing with, I never felt anyone checked in or considered whether something outside of work was affecting me. I was ultimately let go while my father was undergoing surgery to remove his cancerous kidney, and I was terminated in the front of the store in front of other employees rather than being spoken to privately. I found the way this was handled extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. I'm not reviewing this because I want my job back or disagree with businesses having standards. I'm reviewing it because how a business treats its employees matters, and customers deserve to know what is happening behind the scenes of the businesses they support. For a business that has been around for years, I expected a much higher level of professionalism, communication, training, and respect toward employees. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

The website is awesome; you can book an appointment on there directly and the business is very thorough with giving you directions both to the business, directions for how to prep for your tan, what to bring to your appointment, and after care. They also email you this information. The ladies here are so nice and efficient at what they do. Both times I have opted in for a moisture locking add on which prolongs my tan. I loved my tan color both times and the color lasted several days without fading or becoming blotchy. I am certainly looking forward to returning here the next time I need a glow for an event!

LOL I'm very fair skinned and was nervous I was going to leave looking like Trump, but Kristen steered me on the correct coloring course, and it was seamless. I arrived in Mexico with a tan, and no longer looked like spirit day walking for Día de Muertos. Not only is she the most knowledgeable, she's also incredibly caring of her clients. The salon is ALWAYS clean, you'll never have to worry about an un-sanitized bed at this location. The employees are helpful, friendly and personable. IF there's ever an issue with your experience Kristen will make it right. Lastly, the salon has been remodeled and it looks better and brighter than ever.

They have a good selection of packages, lotions, equipment for tanning, newest addition I think was wellness over the past few years..? I have not tried that yet, & I don't spray tan. I'm more of a go-to-the-beach person or come in for a tan visit. I just happened to go in today as they were celebrating their new remodel. Boy it looks so nice & modern! Love what they did to it! They are now wearing name tags also so I met Sophia today who checked me in. Very nice girl! The manager was there also but I forget his name. He has always been wonderful also! If the prices are above your budget, what I do is usually catch the holiday sales, Black Friday is a great one. They also reward you with discounts, free lotion packets, upgrades when you hit a certain number of visits. I don't live in Oxford, so I buy the visits & they work great for me.
